Just as the princess was trying to win over Ren Chuanhu and use him for her own purposes, a masked person suddenly strode out from the crowd.
His steps were firm and powerful, each step carrying a heavy weight. All eyes were drawn to him, and the entire hall fell silent.
The masked man walked to the center of the hall and stopped. His figure was tall and imposing. He swept his cold gaze over everyone present, finally settling on the princess. His eyes were like frost in a cold night, sending chills down everyone's spine.
The princess trembled under his gaze, a nameless fear welling up inside her.
She stared wide-eyed at the masked man, trying to glean some clue from his eyes.
The masked man didn't give her much time to think. He began, "Gentlemen, today I have several things to announce." His voice was hoarse yet powerful, echoing in the silent hall, each word piercing the eardrums.
"First of all, the Crown Prince's rebellion was caused by Princess Kaiyang fabricating evidence to report him. As a result, the entire Eastern Palace was brutally executed." The masked man's words were like a sharp sword, piercing straight at the princess, making her face turn deathly pale instantly.
The masked man took out a stack of letters from his pocket and handed them to Prime Minister Xiao.
After examining the letter, Prime Minister Xiao exclaimed in shock, "Oh dear, the evidence is conclusive! This is a letter written by Princess Kaiyang to the whistleblower!"
"Give it to me." The princess hurriedly stepped forward to try and take the evidence, but Ren Chuanhu stopped her with his long sword, and she stood there, not daring to move.
Seeing the princess's flustered expression, the officials all understood.
"Secondly, her father discovered the truth and intended to punish her, but she bribed someone, and in the end, her father met a tragic end at her hands." The masked man continued, his tone becoming increasingly stern and impossible to ignore.
"Not only that, for many years, she has been secretly sending assassins to kill Zhao Canchen, the son of the former crown prince, in an attempt to eliminate him completely." The masked man's words were like a thunderclap, exploding in everyone's ears and causing an uproar.
"What's more, she actually kept hundreds of male lovers, and her private life was extremely dissolute. Even her two sons were not the prince consort's biological children..." The masked man's last words struck the princess's heart like a heavy hammer.
"No, no, that's not it!" the princess screamed in terror.
Her voice was filled with despair and helplessness, and her face was contorted with extreme fear, a stark contrast to her usual haughty demeanor.
The princess realized that if these things were exposed, she would not only lose her reputation and the opportunity to rise to power, but she might also face a fatal disaster.
Princess Kaiyang was horrified and protested, "No, no, I have never done such a thing."
"My two sons are the Prince Consort's biological children!" she roared, certain of that.
The man reached out and removed the mask from his face, revealing the prince consort's stunningly beautiful face.
When Princess Kaiyang saw her husband's true face, she took a few steps back in a panic.
Everyone was stunned, standing motionless like stones, watching this loving couple turn against each other in public.
Liu Shen looked at Princess Kaiyang with a mocking smile and said, "I have never touched you because you are dirty, your heart and body are dirty."
“Coco…” Princess Kaiyang was deathly pale. She had always thought that she had deceived her husband for many years, but only now did she realize that she was the one who had been deceived by him.
Liu Shen continued to mock the princess, "The men you slept with, besides death row inmates, also included beggars. However, they wore masks so you couldn't recognize them. Besides, you drank alcohol and took drugs beforehand, making it impossible to distinguish the real from the fake in bed."
Upon hearing that the person she had slept with was a beggar, Princess Kaiyang was so disgusted that she bent over and vomited.
Liu Shen declared to Princess Kaiyang, "When you plotted to send my fiancée to the Eastern Palace and then caused the deaths of everyone there, we became sworn enemies! How could I possibly have a child with you?"
"Ah...no..." Princess Kaiyang screamed, then weakly cried out, "Guards! Guards!"
But no one obeyed her orders, and no one stepped forward.
Princess Kaiyang then realized with despair that everyone around her was Liu Shen's man.
“I was too arrogant!” she murmured.
Princess Kaiyang suddenly thought of something and perked up. She said to Liu Shen, "The former Crown Prince is your real enemy. He stole your fiancée and gave birth to a little bastard. That little bastard is also your enemy. You should kill him!" She wanted Liu Shen to get rid of Zhao Canchen, since Liu Shen had always shown that he hated Zhao Canchen.
Upon hearing the princess's instigation, Liu Shen laughed heartily. He took a few steps forward, stopped laughing in front of Princess Kaiyang, and whispered the truth to her, "Do you know who I love most?"
Princess Kaiyang stared at him blankly, as if he were a stranger, her heart pounding as she awaited his answer.
"The person I love most is the former Crown Prince!" Liu Shen told the truth. He let out a long breath and revealed the deepest secret in his heart. His mood became cheerful.
So what if someone is gay?
So what if she fell in love with the crown prince, who was also a man?
Once you fall in love, you fall in love, regardless of gender, only the deepest and truest love!
Princess Kaiyang's eyes widened in shock. She had many answers in her mind, but the one she didn't have was that Liu Shen had fallen in love with the former crown prince.
Her lips trembled as she muttered, her voice trembling with despair, "Shameless, utterly shameless..."
Ren Chuanhu moved with lightning speed, his figure flashing past like a shadow. In the blink of an eye, a long sword was thrust into Princess Kaiyang's chest.
"Ah..." A gasp of surprise rang out from inside the hall, drowning out Princess Kaiyang's scream. Princess Kaiyang opened her eyes wide, fell backward to the ground, and breathed her last.
The officials, guards, and soldiers present were all stunned. They were shocked by Ren Chuanhu's superb skills, which allowed him to take lives in the blink of an eye. They hadn't even seen how Ren Chuanhu had done it.
They were all thinking the same thing: if Lin Daoyan's swordsmanship was the best in the world, it was probably not as good as Ren Chuanhu's.
After his initial shock, Prince Lu quickly regained his composure. He exchanged a few glances with Liu Shen, and at Liu Shen's prompting, Prince Lu took a deep breath and then loudly proclaimed, "Princess Kaiyang's crimes are heinous and she deserves to die! She actually framed her elder brother, the Crown Prince, and even personally caused the death of our father!"
King Lu's voice echoed in the palace, yet the entire scene was eerily quiet. Everyone seemed frozen in place, staring blankly at the scene, no one daring to utter a sound.
The officials exchanged bewildered glances. They all knew that this was a power struggle within the royal family, and they, as outsiders, could neither, nor dared, easily intervene. They could only stand silently by and observe the situation.
Amidst this deathly silence, the eyes of the crowd revealed a deep sense of bewilderment.
They couldn't help but wonder: who would inherit the throne?
