Chapter 120 Human Traffickers

Chaos erupted at Old Xu's house, and everyone was filled with anxiety.

Chen Yunyun, with her three children, finally got off the train and headed straight for the county town.

Sitting in her familiar state-run restaurant, Chen Yunyun sighed, "Big cities are nice, but home is still the most comfortable place."

Xu Jingrun nodded. He couldn't meditate properly or read books when he was outside.

"Boss, we'd like a serving of twice-cooked pork, a meatball soup, and three flatbreads."

Chen Yunyun ordered a lot, and when the dishes were served, they also gave her an extra serving of kimchi.

"Mother, I miss your cooking."

The portions at state-run restaurants were indeed large, and the ingredients were of high quality, but the taste was still far inferior to what Chen Yunyun made.

"Okay, when Mother goes back, our family will have a proper meal together."

After everyone, adults and children, had eaten and drunk their fill, Chen Yunyun took her child's hand and prepared to go to the station.

There is only one bus from the county seat to Xiyun Commune, and it only runs once a day.

When Chen Yunyun arrived, it was still early, and the car hadn't come yet.

Unlike later times, train stations at that time were not well-managed. People usually waited for the train at the designated parking area and then bought tickets after boarding.

There were no security personnel around, and the location was far from the city center. Unless you were specifically traveling by car, you wouldn't usually go this way.

Chen Yunyun waited here for almost half an hour when a neatly dressed woman carrying a child also came to wait for the bus.

The woman's clothes were new arrivals from the department store; the style was novel, and they looked quite expensive.

The little boy she was holding had a gold bracelet on his wrist, which indicated that his family was quite wealthy.

The woman's expression was distant, as if she didn't want to talk to anyone.

Chen Yunyun glanced at it and then looked away.

A little while later, several more people arrived, including men and the elderly, who wanted to take the bus.

One of the men rushed up to the woman and grabbed her arm. "Cuihua, Cuihua, come back with me right now. Don't go back to your parents' house. We just had a little argument, is it really that big of a deal?"

The man had a loud voice, which startled the woman. She wanted to shake off his hand, but considering the child in her arms, she didn't dare to use too much force.

The man then tightened his grip on her even more, saying, "Cuihua, you married into my family and cheated on me, so I won't pursue the matter further."

"But you can't take our child with you. He's my only son. You can't let me die out!"

"What nonsense are you spouting? I don't even know you!" the woman said sharply, her brows furrowed.

The man completely ignored the woman's words. He reached out and tried to snatch the child from her arms, muttering, "This is a child of the Liu family. You can't take it away!"

"No, who are you? I don't know you at all! Don't try to take my child!" Seeing that the man was serious, the woman panicked.

The disparity in physical strength made her realize that she was simply unable to protect her baby.

Zhang Xiao looked around, desperately pleading for help, "Please help me, I don't know him, I really don't know him! Or... or could you call the police for me?"

For some unknown reason, Zhang Xiao's words angered the man, who slapped her across the face. Zhang Xiao staggered from the blow, still clutching her baby tightly.

Xiao Bao cried. He hugged his mother tightly, his little hands, adorned with bracelets, gripping her clothes tightly.

The man's menacing gaze swept over the people around him, but no one dared to step forward to stop him, let alone call the inspection team.

"Cuihua, come back with me and live a good life. I don't want my child to lose its mother." After saying that, the man tried to forcefully take Zhang Xiao away.

"My name isn't Cuihua. He's a human trafficker! He's trying to steal my child! Please help me, I beg you, I have money! My dad works at the toy factory..."

Zhang Xiao's mouth was stuffed with a thick handkerchief, "Waaah! Waaah!"

The child's cries were too loud, and Zhang Xiao was struggling desperately. The man, perhaps worried that people around would interfere, explained, "I'm really not a human trafficker. This is the wife I paid to marry."

“She does nothing all day but spend money. I spent all my savings to buy her this beautiful dress, and she is still not satisfied.”

"She actually cheated on me and even tried to run away with my child. I just couldn't take it anymore..."

The man spoke very sincerely, and when he got to the part about his grievances, he even burst into tears.

The saying goes that a man doesn't easily shed tears, so when onlookers saw a burly man wiping away tears with both hands, they believed him and looked at Zhang Xiao with reproach.

"I really don't know how your parents raised you. You should be content with a man who treats you so well."

"Go back and live a good life with your partner. Don't do anything foolish again!"

No one helped her; some even pointed fingers at her and hurled insults. Despairing tears rolled down Zhang Xiao's cheeks.

The baby in her arms sensed her mother's emotions and cried even louder.

Xu Jingsheng had never seen such a commotion before, and he was somewhat frightened.

Clutching Chen Yunyun's clothes tightly with both hands, her small body huddled against Chen Yunyun's chest, trembling.

"Don't be afraid, Ah Sheng, your mother is here." Chen Yunyun patted Xu Jingsheng's head reassuringly, then looked at the two older children.

"Mother, do whatever you want." Xu Jingrun nodded to her, and Chen Yunyun smiled. Her two older children were becoming more and more understanding of her thoughts.

Just as Zhang Xiao was about to be taken away, a clear, cold female voice rang out from the crowd, "Wait, don't go yet, something's fishy about this!"

The menacing-looking man turned around, his sharp gaze seeming to pierce right through Chen Yunyun. "What do you want?"

The man's tone was unfriendly, but Chen Yunyun wasn't afraid at all.

She spoke clearly and distinctly, saying each word, "You are a human trafficker, and you don't know this woman at all."

These words caused a huge uproar in the surrounding area. Before the man could even refute them, people around him came forward to explain.

"Didn't you hear, lady? They're family."

"You might have been behind me and didn't hear clearly. This woman is promiscuous. She not only neglects her family but also squanders their money. She cheated on this man and even tried to take his child away. Don't be fooled by this kind of woman."

The man spoke with absolute certainty, as if he had witnessed it firsthand. After he finished speaking, he looked at Chen Yunyin provocatively and asked, "Are you still going to speak up for her now?"
