Chen Yunyun sneered. This old woman is quite good at threatening people.
If Chen Yunyun doesn't acknowledge her, will she go around saying that Chen Yunyun is heartless and unfilial?
"Besides, you are my daughter. So many people in our village can testify. If all else fails, come back with me, and everything will be clear and transparent."
"I'm a poor peasant, I'm not capable of lying or deceiving!"
"Is that so?" Chen Yunyun smiled faintly, pulled out a chair, and said, "Sit down."
The old lady pulled out the wooden stool and sat down without any hesitation, the low stool creaking as she sat on it.
"Jingrun, go pour Grandma a cup of tea."
Chen Yunyun called her "Grandma" in front of the child, which meant that she had already accepted her as her grandmother. Song Xiaofen was extremely satisfied and crossed her legs.
Upon hearing Chen Yunyun's words, Xu Jingrun very sensibly went to the kitchen and brought back a kettle.
The scalding hot tea was poured into the ceramic bowl in front of the old lady, and whether he did it on purpose or not, a lot of the tea splashed out.
Song Xiaofen didn't notice this; her gaze was drawn to the brand-new kettle.
"You're completely incapable of managing money. You even bought such an expensive kettle."
“We still use an iron pot to boil water at home. It’s a waste of firewood to boil water, and your older brother and your father often drink cold water.”
This old woman has a really sharp tongue.
It was midday, and Chen Yunyun didn't want her to stay for lunch. "Then tell me, what do you need me for?"
Song Xiaofen glared at Chen Yunyun, annoyed. "You child, can't your mother come if there's nothing wrong?"
As soon as she finished speaking, the old lady stood up and walked around the yard.
"Wow, your yard is quite spacious. It's such a waste that only you and your children live here."
"Why are there plum trees in the yard? I'll cut them down this afternoon."
"Look, let's dig up this plum tree and plant more sweet potatoes. If you can't finish them, you can bring them back for us to eat."
Chen Yunyun and her two older children exchanged glances, their faces practically screaming, "Are you alright?"
Before Chen Yunyun could react, the old lady had already bent down and started pulling up radishes from Chen Yunyun's vegetable garden.
"You've planted this crop very well; the radish is huge!"
Song Xiaofen pulled out more than ten in one go, and still showed no intention of stopping.
She couldn't even hold the radishes in her hands, so she simply stuffed them into her pockets and sleeves.
This behavior and the way they eat are just too unsightly.
Chen Yunyun crossed her arms, looking at her with a leisurely air, her tone tinged with sarcasm, "You're talking so much, can you even finish it all?"
The old lady ignored her completely, as if she had never seen vegetables before, and greedily tore off a lot of them.
She ransacked Chen Yunyun's vegetable garden, leaving not a single vegetable leaf behind.
Only then did Song Xiaofen raise her head. Her clothes were stuffed full, and radishes and bok choy kept falling off her as she walked...
Chen Yunyun was so angry she almost laughed.
Xu Jingrun and his sister Xu Jingtian glared at her. There were some things Chen Yunyun couldn't say, but the children spoke without any pressure: "This is our family's vegetable garden!"
"You wicked old woman! You stole our things!"
Earlier, Song Xiaofen reached out to hit Xu Jingrun, but Chen Yunyun stopped her.
After this incident, the old woman did learn a lesson.
She didn't choose to confront the little child directly, since she had already gotten the food.
She looked at Chen Yunyun with a smile, "Zhao Di, you've really worked hard raising these burdens all by yourself."
"Mom will cook lunch for you. You've been busy at the factory all morning, so you can rest for a while at noon."
The old woman offered to cook, and Chen Yunyun raised an eyebrow but didn't stop her, waiting to see what she was up to.
Chen Yunyun nodded coldly, and the old lady went into the kitchen.
Xu Jingrun glanced in the direction of the old lady, then turned to Chen Yunyun and said, "Mother, there's something in the kitchen..."
Chen Yunyun smiled at the children and reassured them, "It's alright."
Xu Jingtian frowned and pouted, "Mother, I don't like her at all."
The little girl complained tearfully, "When you weren't back, Mother, the things she said to us were really nasty."
The old woman was shouting outside, and the whole village could hear her.
In particular, the children blocked the door, preventing her from entering.
She screamed even louder.
It's nothing more than a family burdened with children, their mother died young, and no one raised them properly—these are the kinds of hurtful things to say...
Since the children's biological mother had passed away early, Chen Yunyun was always very careful about what she said.

"Mother, if you chase her away sooner, we can come back sooner."
Xu Jingrun nodded, "Mother, my brother has never been away from you for so long. He will miss you."
Chen Yunyun smiled with relief, "Don't worry about what I do!"
While the mother and her children were chatting happily, the old lady in the kitchen stared wide-eyed, rummaging through the kitchen.
