Chapter 32 Tiger's Mother Throws a Tantrum

Two flowers bloom, each representing a different branch.

In the only two large brick houses in the village, Tiger's mother was sulking, her face frighteningly gloomy.

Even Tiger frowned when he saw it, and dared not be so brazen.

After Zhang the hunter finished dealing with the winter festival, he accompanied the village chief to pay respects to the ancestral god. When he returned, he found his wife sitting upright at the table, looking like she was about to settle accounts.

The house was cold and empty; I had been busy all morning and couldn't even get a hot meal.

Hunter Zhang cursed irritably, "That lazy old woman is getting lazier and lazier! You don't even cook! Are you going to make me starve?"

They even insulted her; it's like the guilty party accusing the innocent first.

In the past, Tiger's mother would never have dared to argue with Zhang the hunter, but today she was furious.

She seemed to be blinded by rage, and spoke without thinking.

"You want those prostitutes outside to do it for you? They only say a few words, and you're already eagerly going up to them."

"They're afraid others won't know you two are having an affair."

Zhang the hunter was completely baffled. What had this woman done to herself? What nonsense was she spouting in front of the child?

Zhang the hunter was not good at explaining, and without saying a word, he raised his fist as if to punch someone.

Unexpectedly, Tiger's mother plopped down on the ground and started throwing a tantrum.

“It’s outrageous! I bore him children, and after he had an affair with another woman, he still wanted to beat me.”

Tiger's mother cried so loudly that the earth shook, and Zhang the hunter couldn't stand her unreasonable behavior.

"Tiger, go play outside for a while."

He gave his son these instructions.

Tiger's mother panicked upon hearing this. That wouldn't do. Tiger was her protector. What if Tiger went out and this unreasonable man beat her to death?

Tiger's mother quickly hugged her son tightly and scolded Zhang the hunter, "If you still care about this son and this family, you'd better break up with that woman."

"Otherwise, don't even think about your son acknowledging you as his father!"

Hunter Zhang was furious. Damn it, where did this other woman come from? What was she doing, causing all this trouble?!

"Still pretending? This morning, you and Zhijun's young wife were exchanging glances, and everyone in the village saw it! How embarrassing!"

"What else did you say? You pay her offerings!"

"Aren't you afraid of making my teeth ache saying this? Why should you pay for her?"

"Don't forget, Tiger falling into the water is inextricably linked to her family. I think you don't care about us, mother and son, and your heart is completely biased towards outsiders."

Only then did Zhang the hunter understand what his wife was angry about.

But he might as well not have figured it out at all.

Damn it, I just don't understand why his mother chose such a stupid woman as his wife.

Zhang the hunter clenched his fists repeatedly, but seeing Hu Zi present, he ultimately suppressed his urge to hit someone.

"Use your brain. I might date anyone in the village, but not her."

"Damn it, don't you know why I was sharpening my gun the other day?"

"Have you forgotten whose grave I was thinking of digging up a few days ago?"

"You're fucking stupid! Get the hell out there and cook for me! You look like an idiot, you deserve a beating! Get out of here!"

Tiger's mother stood there, stunned. Her husband had been talking about eliminating the threat completely for the past few days. How could she have forgotten?

But, "What did she say to you this morning? Why did you pay the offerings for her?"

Tiger's mother still asked the question, and even Tiger listened quietly from the side.

Hunter Zhang's gaze fell on the wooden sign not far away, he sighed, and told the truth.

"What? She also had a dream about the mountain god? Is this true?"

Zhang the hunter nodded.

“That day, the mountain god of Daquan appeared to me in a dream and warned me not to do anything that would harm my virtue, otherwise the retribution would fall on my son.”

"Only the mountain god and I know this."

"And she said that today."

Tiger's mother was so shocked that she couldn't close her mouth. Thinking about it now, she realized that she had really misunderstood her husband.

But the thought of Chen Yunyun, with her carefree and leisurely demeanor, made her grit her teeth in hatred.

That woman is no good at all.

Seeing the indignant look on Tiger's mother's face, Zhang the hunter knew what she was thinking and warned her, "Don't ruin my plans."

"If you do anything that harms Tiger, you'll see if I don't kill you!"

Tiger's mother glanced at her son awkwardly, reluctantly agreed, and after a few seconds, she asked again, unwilling to give up.

"Shouldn't we teach her a lesson?"

Damn it!

After receiving a heavy kick to the buttocks, Tiger's mother finally gave up her desire for revenge.

Fine, consider it a blessing for her son. She's magnanimous and won't cause trouble for that family!

Chen Yunyun was completely unaware of what had happened between the two families.

Even if she knew, she probably wouldn't do anything about it.

After all, she's very strong now!

It was a warm day before the New Year.

Chen Yunyun took her three children up the mountain. On the way, she met an aunt who immediately came up to greet her and warmly stopped her.

Chen Yunyun became wary, but then she saw the aunt stuff several large, white radishes into her hand.

"Little sister, thank you so much! If you hadn't said those words that day, our family would probably have been in big trouble."

Those who came to express their gratitude?

Chen Yunyun was a little confused, but after listening for a while, she realized what was going on.

It turns out that this aunt was from the family whose house collapsed on the day of the winter sacrifice.

That day, her husband was helping out in the village, and the children at home were sleeping in. She felt sorry for them and didn't let them get up.

After hearing Chen Yunyun's account of the mountain god's instructions, she felt they made a lot of sense and quickly went home to bring her child out.

Unexpectedly, just as they carried the child out, the house collapsed.

She dared not imagine what would have happened if she hadn't gone home; her child would have been trapped in the snow and might not have survived.

So she thanked Chen Yunyun, but Chen Yunyun always kept a low profile, and she never had the chance to express her gratitude.

Since it was a rare occasion to run into Chen Yunyun, she quickly pulled some fresh radishes from the field and brought them over.

"It's just a small gift, nothing expensive, it's mainly because of our family's financial situation..."

The aunt was dressed very simply, her clothes were covered in patches, suggesting that her family was not well-off.

Chen Yunyun couldn't refuse, so she had to accept the radish. The aunt left happily.

Chen Yunyun was in a good mood throughout the journey.

Seeing this, Da Wa and Niu Niu were both making plans in their hearts.

The eldest child thought to himself, "So my mother likes receiving gifts."

As long as his mother doesn't leave, when he grows up, he will give her different gifts every day.

Niu Niu was different. She thought that her mother must be in a good mood because she was thinking about cooking with radishes!

What can you do with radishes?

Radish soup? Cold radish salad? Or stir-fried radish with fatty pork...

Just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

The four of them walked up the mountain. The snow had covered the entire mountain in white, making it a beautiful sight.

After walking for about ten minutes, they came to a small burial mound.

Da Wa and Niu Niu stopped in their tracks and fell silent...

This is their mother's grave.
