Compared to the old woman's feigned grievances, her few tears were utterly insignificant.
Compared to the pitiful ones, Chen Yunyun is a martyr's family member, a woman who had to raise three children on her own.
Although she didn't admit it herself, the way she cried made the onlookers all assume that her husband was dead.
The old woman's son was a full-time employee at the steel plant, and she had a whole family of grandchildren.
Everyone's hearts had already turned away.
The flight attendant said, "How about this, everyone take out your tickets, I'll take a look."
The old woman looked at her son and said, "The ticket is with my son."
The menacing-looking man rummaged through his bag. "The ticket is gone."
His mother glared at him, "How could it be gone? Look for it again!"
After searching for a long time, until the onlookers were all talking about it, the man finally took the ticket out of his pocket.
The flight attendant then approached Chen Yunyun and gently patted her shoulder. "Good comrade, don't cry. Can you take out your ticket and let me see it?"
Chen Yunyun leaned on Rong Yan's shoulder, wiped away her tears upon hearing this, and then handed the ticket to the flight attendant, saying, "Thank you for your hard work."
Rong Yan's gaze gradually shifted from his shoulder, which was soaked with an unknown liquid, to Chen Yunyun's back. Having lived for a thousand years, he found that he couldn't understand a woman at all.
The flight attendant took the ticket and carefully compared it.
The tickets do indeed have the same content, but there's something wrong with the red stamp on one of the tickets.
She looked at the old woman and her family and said, "Comrades, your tickets are fake. These four seats are indeed for this woman. Please come with me to buy new tickets."
"Fake? How could that be? Did that woman bribe you?!"
The train attendant, who had worked on the train for so long, had never been insulted like this before, and her eyes immediately welled up with tears. "Comrade, please watch your words."
"If you don't cooperate, then we'll have to ask you to get off the bus."
The old woman was not about to comply; she immediately sat on the ground and began to throw a tantrum.
They kept accusing people of "bullying poor farmers" and "wronging innocent people," each label they attached to them bigger than the last.
Her daughter-in-law joined in the commotion, and even her grandchildren started crying, making the train carriage quite noisy.
The flight attendant tried to help her up, but was violently pushed away.
Just as things were getting tense, a clear female voice rang out from the crowd.
"The train conductor is here!"
A gap opened in the crowd, and a man and a woman walked in.
The leader was the train conductor, tall and imposing, his uniform neatly trimmed.
Behind him was a girl of about fifteen or sixteen, with bright, sparkling eyes and an innocent look.
She walked behind the train conductor and winked playfully at Chen Yunyun.
When the train conductor arrived, the carriage quieted down, except for the old woman who was still throwing a tantrum.
"Comrade, I am the train conductor. Please get up from the ground."
"What kind of behavior is this, making such a racket!"
The train conductor, though not angry, exuded an imposing aura, which intimidated the old woman, causing her to fall silent.
"take away!"
A group of train attendants wearing red armbands appeared and led the family away from the carriage.
As the old woman was leaving, she continued to spout nonsense, and everyone could hear her voice from a great distance.
"My son is a regular employee at the steel plant... You're bullying poor and lower-middle peasants!"
Chen Yunyun curled her lips, "Indeed, only magic can defeat magic!"
The train conductor looked at Chen Yunyun, who instantly reverted to her heartbroken state, even moving the usually aloof conductor to some extent.
"Comrades, I've had the beds changed, so you can rest easy. We'll strengthen our management and this won't happen again."
Chen Yunyun choked up twice, her eyes reddening even more, "Thank you so much."
After the excitement subsided, the crowd gradually dispersed.
After everyone had left, the little girl walked up to Chen Yunyun and asked, "Sister, are you alright?"
This little girl is their neighbor. She was the one who spoke up for that family when they were making the biggest fuss.
However, the crowd was too noisy, and no one heard the girl. So she ran to an outer carriage and brought the train conductor with her.
Chen Yunyun, holding the hands of Da Wa and Niu Niu, smiled at the little girl and said, "Thank you, little comrade."
She took out a pancake she had made herself from her bag, filled with her secret recipe. "Try it, it's homemade."
The little girl accepted it and ran away. Not long after, she came back with a white steamed bun. "Sister, my mother said she'd trade with you."
These days, white flour steamed buns are a luxury.
The girl had two braids and was dressed neatly in work clothes, so she must come from a well-off family.
Chen Yunyun thanked her and slipped two more candies into her pocket. "Alright, don't run back. If you keep delivering like this, we won't finish by tomorrow."
The little girl grinned and said, "Sister, you truly deserve to be a military family member. I really like you."
Chen Yunyun finally had a moment to sit down on her newly replaced, pristine white bed, with the little girl sitting next to her.
We bought four sleeper tickets. Niu Niu, Chen Yunyun, and the three kids slept on the lower bunk, while the eldest kid and Rong Yan slept on the upper bunk.
Rong Yan, this aloof and ethereal young man, had never ridden a train before, and Chen Yunyun forbade him to cultivate in the void.
I thought he would be very uncomfortable, but when I looked up, I found him sitting cross-legged with his eyes closed, resting.
Chen Yunyun slowly withdrew her gaze. Rong Yan had a face full of germaphobia. You wouldn't guess that he was actually quite hardworking.
The kind-hearted girl who helped Chen Yunyun on the train was named Mo Xuanxuan. Her family was next door, dressed in a neat Zhongshan suit. When they saw Chen Yunyun looking over, they smiled and waved to her.
They were also going to Taicheng to find Mo Xuanxuan's brother who was serving in the army.
Coincidentally, Mo Xuanxuan's brother and the original owner's husband were in the same military unit.
Mo Xuanxuan was overjoyed, "That's great, sister! Then we can live in the same family compound!"
Knowing that they would be joining the army together later, Chen Yunyun had to put on a good show in front of Mo Xuanxuan.
A hint of melancholy flickered across her face. "Sigh, I wonder why the child's father hasn't replied..."
Mo Xuanxuan comforted her instead, "Sister, something must have delayed you. When we get to the army, I'll have my brother help you look for it."
The little girl leaned close to Chen Yunyun's ear and whispered, "I'll let you in on a secret, my brother is a high-ranking official! He can definitely help."
