Chapter 69 Piles of fish kept jumping into people's arms

Chen Yunyun used two hundred yuan and some tickets to exchange for a Cleansing Bead from Rong Yan.

This air-purifying bead is very useful. From now on, she no longer has to worry about others smelling the food in the kitchen, and she can cook for the children with peace of mind!

Chen Yunyun prepared a table full of dishes, and Niu Niu came to help her start the fire after finishing her book. Soon, the dishes were placed on the table.

In the very center was a small pot containing mutton, with a small fire burning underneath, and the broth inside was bubbling away.

Add some chopped radishes, potatoes, and greens, and you have a lamb hot pot!

The main dish is large, crispy pan-fried dumplings filled with minced meat and kimchi, which are crispy, savory, and have a unique flavor.

The dumplings were homemade, so they were especially big. Chen Yunyun ate two, and then some mutton, but she couldn't eat anymore.

A bowl of clear broth is refreshing and warming, with the sweetness of farm vegetables and the rich aroma of mutton, making it an excellent nourishing and health-preserving dish!

After lunch, the eldest child took the initiative to wash the dishes.

Chen Yunyun had previously joked with him, saying that these days, few men go into the kitchen, let alone do housework or wash dishes.

Who knew that what Da Wa said would almost bring Chen Yunyun, the old mother, to tears on the spot.

The eldest child said, "My mother works so hard cooking, it's nothing for me to wash some dishes."

Chen Yunyun was deeply moved. Who would have thought that this sweet little girl now was someone who wished she were dead just half a year ago?

Her arrival changed so many things, and everything is really slowly getting better!

"Arun is such a good boy, give Mommy a kiss."

Chen Yunyun tilted her head and kissed Da Wa's cheek. The little boy smiled and pursed his lips, his ears already red. Only at this moment did Da Wa show some of his normal childlike behavior.

The mother and her children were enjoying themselves. Rong Yan's gaze lingered on one side of the eldest child's cheek until Chen Yunyun spoke to him, at which point he looked away.

"There's water here. You can drink some if you're thirsty this afternoon." Chen Yunyun handed the bamboo tube filled with water to Rong Yan.

The man stretched out his slender hand, and whether intentionally or unintentionally, his fingertips brushed against the back of Chen Yunyun's hand, causing a tingling sensation to run through her skin.

Chen Yunyun withdrew her hand, wondering to herself, "Is it too dry? Why is there static electricity?"

Rong Yan subtly observed Chen Yunyun's expression, a captivating smile curving his thin lips. "Let's go."

As the sandalwood incense dissipated, Chen Yunyun finally came to her senses. Why did she feel that Rong Yan was getting more and more handsome? She kept getting lost in his beauty without realizing it; it seems that being a sucker for good looks really does have its downsides!

Chen Yunyun took a short nap at noon, and since she didn't need to go to the warehouse until the end of the workday, she stayed home to teach the children after waking up.

Someone knocked on the door. Chen Yunyun opened the door and a chubby little boy ran in, his nose and tears streaming down his face, and pretended to hug Chen Yunyun's leg again.

"Hey—wait!" Chen Yunyun was afraid of her godson; she didn't want to go out to do laundry in the freezing cold.

"Stand back, don't you dare pounce on me."

Why does it give off a feeling of training a puppy?

Clearing her mind of the jumbled thoughts, Chen Yunyun looked at her godson and asked, "What are you doing?"

Tiger's face was covered in bruises after only ten days away from home.

Tiger looked aggrieved and wanted to get closer to Chen Yunyun, but he didn't dare. He could only say, "Godmother, please save me. I've been having such bad luck lately!"

"Bad luck?"

Chen Yunyun couldn't help but shift her gaze to the eldest child sitting upright at the table.

Da Wa lowered his head, not daring to meet Chen Yunyun's gaze; his fingers, gripping the pen tightly, were turning white from the force.

Chen Yunyun immediately understood that she couldn't expose her own child's shortcomings in front of Hu Zi.

Seeing Hu Zi's bruised and swollen face, I felt a little sorry for him but also a little amused.

Tiger was already chubby, and with his face swollen, he looked even more like a steamed bun.

Chen Yunyun led him into the house and applied medicine to his wound.

After counting them, there weren't many wounds and they weren't deep. Most of them were from falls or being stung. It's good that the eldest child knows a little about boundaries.

Tiger muttered, "In the dead of winter, I don't know where those bees came from, they stung me as soon as they saw me, and I couldn't escape them. Ouch, it hurts so much!"

Chen Yunyun stared at Da Wa, who walked over and brought Hu Zi a glass of water for the first time. "Brother Hu Zi, have some water."

Tiger has always been treated coldly by the Xu family's children.

However today—

Xu Jingrun called him Brother Tiger?

She even personally brought him water?

Tiger was overjoyed, his face beaming with happiness, and he said cheerfully, "Thank you, Brother Jingrun."

The moment the water was handed over, a talisman was slapped into Tiger's body. Tiger was completely unaware and drank the water in one gulp. "Godmother, your water is so sweet!"

Chen Yunyun chuckled and patted Hu Zi on the shoulder, "Alright, come over and learn together."

"Huh? Oh!"

Tiger's greatest skill is fighting, and his greatest hatred is studying.

But he had no choice; his godmother made him learn, so he had to learn. After all, his godmother's beatings hurt more than a wasp sting!

Chen Yunyun taught some basic math and assigned homework to the children.

In terms of Chinese language, Niu Niu has no problem with pinyin and recognizing characters, not to mention the older child who is already reading books on his own.

Only Tiger's mind was a complete mess; he couldn't recognize words or count completely.

Every time Hu Zi gets his little hand slapped by Chen Yunyun, Niu Niu giggles in response.

If it were any other kid doing this, Tiger would have already hit them, but Niu Niu is his god-sister, so he could only scratch his head and smile sheepishly.

"Godmother, I just can't seem to learn it. I learn this character today, and I forget it tomorrow."

Chen Yunyun was very patient. "It's okay, just write it a few more times. Take this paper back tonight and read it when you get up tomorrow morning."
