Chapter 74 Rong Yan’s favorability +5

On the day Fu Bao was born, auspicious signs appeared in the sky. They were starving to death in the city, and as soon as Fu Bao was born, a lot of food appeared out of thin air in their home.

When Fu Bao was two years old, a monk came and said that Fu Bao was lucky and was the daughter of the Heavenly God. He said that his whole family was raising a daughter for God.

As long as we raise Fu Bao well, our whole family will enjoy long and healthy lives.

Liu Xiulan and the second wife believed it and began to treat Fu Bao specially, while the first wife and the third wife did not really believe it.

Now, Fu Bao's good luck has vanished after just one trip out of the house, and Liu Xiulan is still unwilling to accept it.

Fu Bao is God's daughter; good fortune will surely return.

Thinking of this, Liu Xiulan softened her expression. "Fu Bao, don't cry. You'll be fine after a good night's sleep."

Fu Bao nodded, and without eating, went to her room to sleep.

At the dinner table, the whole family seemed rather unhappy.

Lin Li kept putting fish pieces on her children's plates, saying, "Come on, Xiao Gang, eat more, and Xiao Hua too."

The fish meat was piled up in the child's bowl like a small mountain.

Xiao Gang and Xiao Hua buried themselves in their food and ate like crazy, but a thought popped into their minds—if only Fu Bao hadn't been there, they could have eaten even more!

Fu Bao lay alone on the cold bed, sobbing softly.

She needs to fall asleep quickly, and good luck will come back tomorrow!

Little Fu Bao kept her eyes tightly closed, unable to fall asleep.

She remembered meeting the family next door before leaving the house. The grandmother had mentioned that the wicked woman had told her child that as long as they were safe, it didn't matter whether they had shot down the birds or not.

Why isn't her family like this?

Thinking of her grandmother's stern expression and her mother's disappointed look, Fu Bao's eyes welled up with tears again.

Suddenly, Xiao Fubao felt something moving in his pocket.

She took it out with her little hands and saw that it was the bird that the older child had knocked unconscious.

Now that the little bird has woken up, Fu Bao instinctively wants to hand it to her grandma. Grandma will be so happy.

She had just gotten out of bed and had only taken a few steps when she stopped.

Looking down at the struggling little bird in her hand, she turned and walked in the opposite direction, pushing open the wooden window with her small hand. "Let's go!"

The bird shook its wings and soared into the sky from her tender palm.

Fu Bao closed the window and lay back down on the bed. This time, she felt sleepy much faster.

When Xiao Fubao opened her eyes the next day after sleeping soundly, she was startled.

Her mother and grandmother stayed by her bedside.

Grandma didn't even go to work?

"How is it? Can it turn into beads?" Both women looked anxious.

Fu Bao lowered his head and conjured up the golden beads as instructed.

On her fair palm, the golden beads were round and shiny, and looked very beautiful.

Liu Xiulan and Kong Guihua both breathed a sigh of relief.

This was the first time Liu Xiulan had ever seen her granddaughter turn into a golden bead. Thinking about how the second branch of the family had kept this a secret from her, she couldn't help but pinch Kong Guihua.

After taking the gold beads into her hands, Liu Xiulan examined them carefully before placing them into her close-fitting pocket as if they were precious treasures.

She took out another piece of candy from her bag, unwrapped it, and put it into Fu Bao's mouth.

"Fu Bao is such a good girl. I always said our Fu Bao is blessed. Don't scare Grandma next time."

The hard candy was put in my mouth and released a sweet taste.

For some reason, Fu Bao didn't like the taste of this candy.

Liu Xiulan got up with satisfaction. "I'm going to work now. Second wife, hand over all the beads from before."

Kong Guihua's face paled slightly, and she lowered her head without replying.

That old hag wants everything.

When Liu Xiulan arrived at the field, she looked up and saw Chen Yunyun and her younger brother.

Upon seeing her mother-in-law arrive, Lin Li quickly stepped forward, "Mom, look!"

The direction she was pointing was where Chen Yunyun was working in the field, her back bent over.

"Isn't she in the warehouse? Your whistleblower letter..."

The old lady was halfway through her story when she realized that the whistleblower letter had only been mentioned yesterday, so it couldn't possibly be because of this.

Lin Li whispered, "She said she was coming to help her brother and didn't want any work points. Look, she's already bribed the scorekeeper; he's chatting and laughing with her."

Liu Xiulan immediately recognized the sour tone in her eldest daughter-in-law's voice.

Just as they were talking about the scorekeeper, the scorekeeper turned his gaze over and said, "You two, you're not allowed to slack off while you're working."

"Liu Xiulan, you're late today, two points deducted."

Liu Xiulan spat inwardly, not daring to let the scorekeeper see it.

I only got seven work points for a whole day's work, and I was only half an hour late, but I got two points deducted.

When she heard the scorekeeper call out Liu Xiulan's name, Chen Yunyun turned around and saw two people with unpleasant expressions. She then calmly looked away.

"Go back now." Rong Yan continued hoeing the ground, one stroke at a time.

He was very strong, and each time he seemed to easily flip over a large clod of earth, which made him look very manly, attracting many unmarried young girls to secretly watch him.

Chen Yunyun put down the bamboo tube in her hand. "Have some water first, then I'll order some more for you. I'm leaving now."

Rong Yan stopped what he was doing, his gaze gently falling on her cheek. He took a half step back, as if to make room for Chen Yunyun.

"Take a break and have some sugar water," Chen Yunyun said confidently, picking up the hoe.

To increase his favorability, you can't just talk to him; you also need to help him with chores.

He raised the hoe high, strained his waist, and brought it down, hitting Rong Yan right at his feet.

If we got any closer, we could have ripped Rong Yan's toes off...

Chen Yunyun stole a glance at Rong Yan, who was drinking water from a bamboo tube, his sexy Adam's apple bobbing up and down with each swallow.

Tsk, she seems a little thirsty too.

Chen Yunyun looked away like a thief, silently took a half step back, and began to diligently hoe the ground.

However, she was much weaker than Rong Yan and didn't dig deep enough.

Just as she was persevering and working hard, a cool hand covered hers, followed by the refreshing scent of sandalwood.

The sandalwood scent enveloped her, as if Rong Yan were embracing her from behind.

Chen Yunyun was startled and let go of his hand. She turned around and found that Rong Yan had already picked up a hoe and started working. What she had just imagined was all an illusion.

"I'll do it, you go back and cook."

Chen Yunyun was stunned, as if she hadn't reacted yet.

Rong Yan's favorability +5

The mechanical notification sound brought Chen Yunyun back to her senses. She'd gotten extra points?!

"Alright, I'll head back now!"

Having achieved her goal of earning extra points, Chen Yunyun decisively slipped away from the field.

Rong Yan glanced at her, a very faint smile in his eyes.

The scorekeeper couldn't help but take a few more glances, thinking to himself, "Comrade Chen's younger brother is really good-looking!"

He works fast and well! His speed is the best in the surrounding villages, and the brigade leader praised him when he inspected the area.

The scorekeeper, completely oblivious to the fact that he was captivated by Rong Yan's good looks, casually drew a five-pointed star over Rong Yan's name.
