Chapter 166: Trash becomes treasure

After Chen Jiaojiao left, Jiang Baige played with the four-eyed monkey in the yard.

Chen Jianguo stuck his head out from the wall and saw Jiang Baige playing in the yard. He couldn't help but smile.

He is just a child, yet he is so happy playing with the puppy.

Grandma Meng came out of the house and brought out a bowl of porridge she had made in the morning, as well as a freshly cooked potato. She mixed it with salt and sesame oil and prepared to eat it with the porridge.

Jiang Baige saw this and asked, "Grandma Meng and Aunt Zhou told us to go to her house for dinner, so why have you already eaten?"

Grandma Meng also had a fixed seat under the eaves. She put down her bowl before speaking.

"Girl, go by yourself! I'll eat at home. If I don't eat the rice cooked in the morning, it will be difficult to cook in the evening."

Grandma Meng actually didn't want to trouble others. She had eaten there several times, but she couldn't give them anything, so she didn't want to owe them any favors.

Jiang Baige said to her, "It's okay for you to eat at home, but you have to eat something nutritious! Why don't you eat salted duck eggs? There are also preserved eggs! How can this potato be nutritious? I'll make you a fried egg."

Grandma Meng feels that her life is already very good now. She has potatoes and white rice to eat. What else can she ask for?

If the girl hadn't come to live at home, she might have died long ago.

She said nonchalantly, "I fried an egg in the morning and wanted to eat something light at noon. You weren't home these two days, so I ate something that suited my appetite."

The elderly all like to eat light food, but Jiang Baige has a strong taste and can never get enough of the stir-fried dishes she eats every meal. Grandma Meng also cooks some of her favorite food, mostly to cater to her appetite.

Thinking of this, Jiang Baige didn't say much. Let her eat whatever she wants!

Chen Jiaojiao quickly ran over with a bowl of soupy rice, calling out as she walked.

"The meal is here, where's Four Eyes? Come and eat quickly."

Jiang Baige took the bowl of water next to her and poured out the water.

"Hey, I have a separate bowl for him to eat from. Don't let him get this dirty."

Chen Jiaojiao said nonchalantly, "My mother said this bowl can't be used. It won't be wasted if we give it to Siyan for dinner."

As she spoke, she placed the bowl in front of Siyan.

Jiang Baige looked at the bowl and wondered why it looked so familiar.

Curiously asked: "Where did this black bowl come from?"

Chen Jiaojiao replied with a smile, "My brother bought it! I didn't expect that the color would turn black after my mother washed it. Now my mother is scolding my eldest brother at home!"

Jiang Baige looked at the bowl carefully. When they bought it, it was still a little bit silvery white and looked very beautiful! How come it turned so black after washing it?

Suddenly as if she remembered something, she picked up the bowl and replaced it with another one for him to eat from.

She said, "Just watch Siyan finish his meal! When he's done eating, put him in the backpack and don't let him run around."

Chen Jiaojiao saw that her sister seemed to have something to do, so she nodded and said, "Yeah."

Jiang Baige took the bowl and went next door.

When they bought this bowl, it looked like iron and aluminum to her. Now that it has changed color, she wondered if it was made of silver or something.

Whatever she thought of, she wanted to verify it.

Iron will not deteriorate without being exposed to wind and sun, and aluminum is even more unlikely to do so, so it is not known whether her guess is true.

When she arrived at Chen's house, Chen Jianguo was being criticized by his mother.

Zhou Xiuying said, "I told you you finally did something reliable, but you ended up buying this crap and wasted a few bucks."

Zhou Xiuying is very angry now. She took great pains to boil water and washed for a long time, but in the end all the color came off.

Seeing Chen Jianguo being scolded, Jiang Baige wanted to laugh but didn't dare to. She swallowed and interrupted Zhou Xiuying.

"Auntie, please stop scolding him."

As she spoke, she walked into the kitchen.

Seeing Jiang Baige coming over, Zhou Xiuying pointed at her son, meaning to let him go for now.

She turned to look at Jiang Baige, her expression changed instantly, she smiled at her, walked over and took her hand.

We used to call her Comrade Jiang, but now we call her Bai Ge.

He smiled and said, "White Dove! Sit here for a while. We'll have dinner soon."

Then she kept asking Chen Jianguo, "Where's your sister? Where did she go again?"

When Chen Jiaojiao came back to get food just now, she saw her mother scolding her brother, so she secretly got some food and ran away.

Jiang Baige was busy before Chen Jiaojiao excused herself: "Jiaojiao is over there with me! Let her play for a while! I'll call her when it's time for dinner."

Zhou Xiuying looked at Jiang Baige and felt that she was more sensible than her own daughter.

She complained, "These two siblings are terrible. I don't care about her anymore."

Jiang Baige held the bowl and asked, "Auntie, what did you use to wash this bowl?"

Zhou Xiuying got angry when she saw the bowl. She said, "I boiled hot water and washed it with soap! I didn't expect the bowl to turn black."

As she spoke, she glared at her son again.

Just as Jiang Baige thought, the bowl turned black because it came into contact with sulfur, so there must be sulfur in the soap.

In order to verify whether it was real silver, Jiang Baige said again: "Auntie, go boil a pot of water. I should be able to turn this bowl back."

Chen Jianguo asked, "Are you serious?"

Jiang Baige nodded and said, "You go and help light the fire. I'll go get some things."

Zhou Xiuying responded with a smile, "Hey, Auntie will listen to you."

If these bowls could turn white, she would certainly listen to the little girl.

Chen Jianguo also obediently went to light the fire. He wanted to see how to clean the bowl since it had turned black.

Jiang Baige opened several cans of goat milk powder for this.

Someone has experimented with using the tin foil on a milk powder can and heating it together with silver. This produces a chemical reaction, restoring the silver to its original color.

After the water in the pot boiled, Jiang Baige put the tin foil into the pot, and then picked up the salt on the side and poured it into it.

After waiting for all these, Jiang Baige put the basin in. Just a moment later, the originally black basin turned silvery white and was much brighter than before.

Chen Jianguo was amazed by this change and asked blankly.

"White Dove, what's going on? Why is it changing color?"

Zhou Xiuying also wanted to know, and stared at Jiang Baige blankly.

Jiang Baige took the gray basin out of the pot and put another one in.

She said, "It's a chemical reaction. I can't really explain it."

Zhou Xiuying was very pleased. This person had read a lot of books! But it was different. Her two children knew nothing.

Chen Jianguo was invisibly disliked by his mother again, and this time his sister was also involved.

After boiling the food in several large basins, Jiang Baige poured the bowls, chopsticks and spoons in the basins into the pot.

Then, the bowls, chopsticks and spoons in the pot all turned white.

Jiang Baige didn't expect that all of this was made of silver, without any adulteration.
