Chapter 249 Brothers Meeting

Jiang Baige rode her bicycle all the way and didn't enter the city until dawn.

She only felt her legs going numb, her hands and feet sore, and her butt didn't want to touch the bicycle seat at all.

She thought that if she didn't get home, her bones would fall apart.

Goudan was very excited. He had heard the children in the village say how wonderful the city was, but he had never been there. Now that he saw it with his own eyes, he felt that it was truly wonderful.

There are tall buildings and wide streets here, and he didn't smell any pig manure along the way.

Goudan took a deep breath and felt that his breath was sweet.

He wanted to stay here, even if he couldn't see his brother, he was willing to beg for a living in the city.

Goudan's father hugged his arms tightly because of the cold, and shivered until he got home at dawn.

When he opened the door, he found that the house was empty and there was nothing there.

After searching several rooms, I found that the most important person in the family was not at home. His wife and son were missing.

He also wondered if his wife was afraid to go to the old house, so she didn't even have time to close the door. He went to the Li family's old house to look for her, but the news he got was that no one in the old house knew where she had gone, or even what had happened in their family.

His heart was in turmoil, as if he had thought of something, and he headed towards the village chief's house again.

His wife and son were not at home so late. Did something happen? Could it be that the ghost saw that he did not bring his son back and ate them?

The more he thought about it, the more scared he became, and it felt very likely.

I arrived at the village chief's house and knocked on the door.

"Uncle Village Chief, get up! My wife and son are missing."

After knocking for a while, the village chief opened the door and said impatiently.

"Knock, knock, knock. What's the rush at this hour of night?"

Goudan's father said, "Uncle Village Chief, I don't know where my wife and son are. Something happened at home today. I'm worried that something might have happened to them."

The village chief asked, "What happened?"

Goudan's father then said, "My house seems to be haunted. My wife and son must have been taken away by ghosts."

The village chief immediately scolded him: "Nonsense, I just met your wife this afternoon, how could anything go wrong?"

At this time, the village chief's wife came out dressed and heard what they were talking about. Then she said this.

"I just saw your wife this afternoon. I saw her taking the child to Teacher Li's house. Where can you go to look for her?"

When she heard that the person didn't return home, she also thought so. The last time she saw the woman, she was at Teacher Li's house. She was very sure, so she asked someone to look for her there.

I heard that his wife went to Teacher Li at the entrance of the village in the afternoon, and Goudan's father thanked the village head and his wife.

"Oh! Then uncle and aunt, go back to sleep! I won't disturb you."

After saying that, he ran away angrily again.

The village head and his wife closed the door and whispered, "The Li family's son is really a piece of shit. He has done so many immoral things. Why didn't God take him away?"

The village chief said, "Okay, old man, where did you come from? You can't say these things outside. Go back to sleep!"

Goudan's father came to Teacher Li's house. The door was locked, but he didn't care. He raised his hand and knocked on the door.

It's still dark, and it's the perfect time to sleep soundly.

No one opened the door at Teacher Li's house, but he woke up his neighbor next door.

Someone opened the door and asked impatiently, "Who is it? It's the middle of the night, it's so noisy."

Goudan's father didn't respond to the man and continued to bang on the door.

"Teacher Li, hurry up and get up. My wife is with you, right? Hand her over to me."

The person next door recognized the voice as Goudan's father's and replied softly.

"Stop knocking, no one's home."

Goudan's father quickly came to the next room and said, "Auntie, where is Teacher Li?"

The woman replied, "I heard that your wife is going back to her parents' home. Let Teacher Li take her back!"

"There are so many that we don't even know. Stop knocking! Otherwise I'll tell the village chief."

The woman did come here with her child half an hour later, but because she was afraid that the ghost in the house had not left yet, she asked Teacher Li to send her back to her parents' home.

After the two adults left, Teacher Li did not come back until dark.

Goudan's father thought for a long time about what his wife had said, about the child being Teacher Li's, but he didn't believe it at the time.

Now that I heard that my daughter-in-law has gone back to her parents' home, why does she still need Teacher Li to send her back?

The more I think about it, the more something seems wrong. This daughter-in-law must be fooling around with someone.

Seeing that the door next door was closed, he hurried away and went back to his wife's parents' home to find out what was going on and hear her explanation.

Jiang Baige took Goudan home, took out the key to open the door, and then groped her way into the yard.

Shen Hengrui lived alone here, and their movements were not concealed. They turned on the lights and illuminated the room.

Goudan was holding a bag of clothes in his arms and was a little confused looking at the bright house.

Suddenly he let out a cry of joy.

“Wow, this house is so nice.”

"Sister, this is such a nice house, does my brother really live here?"

Jiang Baige nodded, "Well, let's go! Your brother is upstairs, he must be sleeping soundly now."

As she spoke, she took the bag from Goudan's arms and carried it upstairs.

When Goudan saw his sister going upstairs, he hurried to follow her, jumping as he walked.

Walking up the stairs, he said in surprise: "This is where we go up to the second floor."

Jiang Baige said, "Follow me, don't fall."

Goudan said, "Okay, I'm coming."

Say yes and then hurry up and follow.

The movement of the two people had awakened Shen Hengrui, who lived on the second floor.

He stood behind the door and eavesdropped on what was happening outside.

He always remembered his sister's words: to close the door when sleeping, to be kind to himself behind his back, and not to open the door to anyone he didn't know.
