109. Feel like I made a profit!

When Lu Guansheng said he wanted to make nuclear batteries, Fu Ti was still a little nervous.

This kind of precision technology, Lu Guansheng wants to complete in the studio in his study, how suspenseful it is!

As soon as he put on his radiation protection suit, Lu Guansheng pressed a button on the wall, and a "glass cover" descended. The vents on the top also opened.

"Mr. Lu! Aren't you going to change into protective clothing?" Fu Ti asked Lu Guansheng, who was still wearing a shirt and trousers.

“Don’t you have this?” Lu Guansheng immediately pressed the space suit fingerprint lock.

Putting on the helmet, Futi asked, "What am I going to do?"

But through the helmet and mask, Lu Guansheng only saw Fu Ti's mouth moving.

Shaking his head and turning on the communicator, Lu Guansheng said, "Press the communication switch on your arm. You are sealed and can't hear it!"

"Ah? Oh!" Fu Ti also opened the communicator and asked again.

"First, take out the battery and extract the gel inside." Lu Guansheng pointed at the battery and began to look at the different bottles and jars.

"I take it apart? Will it break?" Fu Ti was a little uncertain.

"It's okay, it's just scrap anyway." Lu Guansheng handed Fu Ti a wrench with certainty.

Fu Ti is a clerical worker who hasn't done anything hands-on since graduating from high school. After all these years, he started by disassembling the battery of his luxury car, which seemed like a bit of a stretch.

Fortunately, Lawrence Lu is an expert, and with him around, I feel much more at ease.

The first thing Lu Guansheng did was to 3D scan the empty battery shell.

"Isn't it a modification? The shell also needs to be redone. Is this a rebuild?" Fu Ti watched Lu Guansheng's actions.

"It doesn't matter what it is, right? Except for your metal shell handle, nothing else can be used." Lu Guansheng said as he operated it, "The material is not good!"

"The materials are not good?" Fu Ti looked at the empty shell in his hand.

"You want to use plexiglass to store nuclear materials?" Lu Guansheng glanced at him.

"Uh..." Fu Ti's understanding of automotive parts is still at the market manufacturing level. Although Lu Guansheng asked him to make nuclear batteries, it takes time for him to understand and become familiar with the concept.

"High-pressure resistant crystal shell, three layers of vacuum, and an inner layer of lead-plated bowl to insulate against heat and radiation." Lu Guansheng explained while designing.

"Mr. Lu, is this thing safe?"

"Don't worry, we don't use uranium, thorium, or plutonium! These can't be bought without industrial applications. We use Rf (Che Lu, pronounced lu)." Lu Guansheng fiddled with the synthesizer.

"Rf? Actinides? This is even more difficult to deal with, right?" Fu Ti felt that there was something wrong with Lu Guansheng's logic.

"No need to do that, we can just synthesize it ourselves!" Lu Guansheng continued as he pressurized the pipes, "I'll make you a socket in the trunk later so you can charge the backup battery while driving."

"With a boss like you, why do I feel like I've made a profit?" Fu Ti stared at Lu Guansheng's operations curiously.

Such advanced technology was mastered by Lu Guansheng in his home "workshop", and he operated it with ease, as if he had practiced it countless times.

"Give me the liquid nitrogen." Lu Guansheng stretched out his hand.

"Oh!" Fu Ti found the pressure tank marked with nitrogen and handed it to Lu Guansheng, "Can liquid nitrogen be used to make nuclear batteries?"

"Liquid nitrogen is used for temperature control," Lu Guansheng said without looking up. "We worked so hard to generate this electricity, so of course we can't waste it! I'll use a superconductor to output it for you."

After inserting a metal rod, Lu Guansheng began to fill it with liquid nitrogen. Only then did he look up and straighten up: "I only have low-temperature superconducting metal on hand, so I'll have to make do with it!"

"Mr. Lu, I want to ask a question."

"Ask!"

"How long can this battery last without charging? What's its safety factor?"

"It won't need to be charged for about half a year, right? And it's absolutely safe, there's no leakage. My helicopter uses a similar battery, just a more advanced one!"

“Then why don’t we market it?”

"Because it's too expensive," Lu Guansheng told the truth. "A car needs to be replaced after driving it for three to five years. Although replacing the battery is more troublesome, it's cheaper."

"How much?"

"It's probably equivalent to the cost of replacing batteries for fifty or sixty years." Lu Guansheng thought about it.

"If I change my car, will this battery still work?"

"As long as the handle is changed, everything else is essentially the same." Lu Guansheng meant that it can be used.

It didn't take long before both batteries were installed.

"Do you want to activate it yourself?"

"Activate what?"

"Reactor!" Lu Guansheng clamped a current clamp on one end of the electrode and held up the other to signal Fu Ti.

"Reactor? No! Mr. Lu, you should handle it! I'm afraid of messing it up!"

"Coward! Now it's just a pile of useless elemental powder!" Lu Guansheng connected the current himself, "After the power is turned on, we use lasers to focus the light, and these powders will turn into RF!"

Relying on the instability of the Rf element, it continuously decomposes and fissions, and is constantly rebound by the laser network and electric current to form a reactor.

This is a micro reactor. When the power storage is insufficient, the fission and fusion process will stop, so Lu Guansheng said that it should be replaced about every six months.

The instability of this highly radioactive element, Rf, is what makes this battery so safe. Outside of the artificial synthesis environment, this reactor is essentially just a bottle of raw material powder, completely harmless.

"If the price can be brought down, I think every car should have two of these batteries."

"Futi, there's another unrealistic point," Lu Guansheng reminded Futi. "These discarded raw materials need to be recycled and processed as nuclear waste. If this becomes widespread and someone is irresponsible, wouldn't that be a major environmental disaster?"
