Chapter 2 Want to Work

Mu Qingli walked out of the tube building and met many old men and women who were enjoying the cool under the trees. When they saw her, they all looked at her with sympathy.

"Li girl! Go out! Have you eaten?" Aunt Liu, holding her little grandson, asked with a smile. She heard Mu Yuansheng's roar while sitting there, and guessed that Mu Qingli was bullied by that family again.

"Auntie Liu, I haven't eaten yet! It's too boring at home, so I went out for a walk. Xiaobao is getting more and more adorable!" Mu Qingli looked at Xiaobao in Auntie Liu's arms and praised sincerely.

"Hey! So cute! So naughty! Just knows how to make trouble!" As she said this, she gently touched Xiaobao's head and said words of disdain, but her eyes were full of love and affection.

"Haha! Xiaobao is so lively and healthy! Aunt Liu, you take a rest. I'm leaving first!"

"Hey! Go! Come back early for dinner! Otherwise, that family won't leave any food for you!" As he said this, he glanced at the window on the floor opposite where Mu Qingli lived with disdain.

"I understand, Aunt Liu!" After saying that, Mu Qingli walked out.

"Uncle Shen! Sister Zhang! Aunt Jiang..." Along the way, Mu Qingli greeted the familiar neighbors he met one by one until he was completely far away.

Mu Qingli watched Aunt Liu playing with her grandson and being so kind to him, and couldn't help but think of the original owner's grandparents. Every time they came, they seemed to hate the original owner. They either made sarcastic remarks or ordered him around. In their eyes, there was only their precious grandson Mu Qingyu. They were also kind to Mu Qinglu, but their attention and care were still on Mu Qingyu.

"Why do I feel like Li girl has changed?"

"Yeah! Li used to just walk with her head down, eager to bump into passersby, but today she's so energetic!"

"Yes! Look at that girl, she's looking up with a big smile on her face, and she's walking just like the cat on the balcony. She's really pretty!"

"Li girl is fair, pretty, and elegant! Just like her mother, she has a very good temper! She is suppressed by that family and can't even hold her head up! What a sin!"

Mu Qingli had no idea what her neighbors were saying. She walked along the streets of the county town in the 1970s, a gentle breeze blowing as the sun set. She looked around curiously. The gray town was dotted with blue brick and tile houses. Pedestrians hurried along the street, their clothes all gray. The simple color scheme matched this gray era very well. Occasionally there were some brightly colored ones, mostly girls wearing colorful small floral shirts and skirts, with two braids draped over their chests. There were also many wearing patched clothes, with pale faces and sallow complexions. Not even one of them was overweight. The better-off men all wore trousers and white shirts. Some rode backpacks, some carried bags under their arms, and some rode bicycles with bags slung over the handlebars. They must be employees of state-owned enterprises! In this era, having a stable job is a hot commodity.

There are many pedestrians, most of whom are walking, and very few are riding bicycles, let alone cars. Occasionally a tram passes by, and from time to time you can see young and beautiful girls wearing floral dresses, small leather shoes, and carrying leather backpacks walking slowly. They are very eye-catching in the crowd and look much more fashionable. At first glance, you can tell that they are people whose families are not short of money.

Mu Qingli couldn't help but look down at his clothes. He was wearing sky blue cotton pants with patches on top of patches, and a cotton short-sleeved top with blue flowers on a white background. Of course, patches were also indispensable. He was wearing a pair of black sandals on his feet, and the straps of the sandals had been sewn on them.

Mu Qingli was completely bewildered. She hadn't even realized she'd left the house dressed so shabbily. Thinking back, she remembered that although the original owner's mother was a coward when she was alive, she loved her very much and bought her many clothes. However, after that cheap stepsister came along, she played the sympathy card and the family card and tricked her out of everything. Gradually, the original owner could only wear clothes and shoes that Mu Qinglu didn't want...

This damn life...

Fortunately, there are many people wearing patched clothes, so hers doesn't stand out. Although she has too many patches on her body, no one should be bored enough to count them for fun, right?

Before he knew it, he had strolled to the entrance of the state-owned restaurant. The tempting aroma kept drilling into his nostrils, and Mu Qingli's stomach rumbled. The original owner had not even had lunch because he refused to change jobs.

Mu Qingli touched his trouser pocket, which was cleaner than his face. He had no money or tickets, so he had to bear it! If only the space before the end of the world was still there, he could have a piece of candy to fill his stomach!

Just as he finished thinking, Mu Qingli felt something extra in his palm. He looked down and said, "Oh my god!"

There was unexpectedly a piece of fruit candy in her palm. Seeing this, Mu Qingli couldn't help but look around guiltily. Fortunately, she was not thinking about anything else, otherwise, if something suddenly appeared, in this sensitive era, she would be arrested and shot.

Mu Qingli felt it silently and found that the space she carried with her was intact. Seeing the huge amount of supplies in the space, she couldn't help but smile. The haze disappeared instantly and she felt confident. If there was a chance, she would try to see if her supernatural powers could follow.

Mu Qingli had been standing at the door of the state-owned restaurant for a while. He looked at the diners who had eaten buns and noodles inside with contempt.

"Poor bastard!"

"She's still standing here. Isn't she planning to smell the food and eat it?"

"Haha!" Not only did the two talkative girls endure the gazes of others, they also muttered to each other and ran away laughing.

Mu Qingli couldn't help but touch his cheek awkwardly. That's right, why was she standing here in a daze? Thinking of this, Mu Qingli quickly walked somewhere else and began to wonder if he should go to the original owner's mother's workplace leader's house.
