rain

rain

When Lu Jinfeng finished work and returned home, it was already early morning and the sky was drizzling. When he woke up, the rain was still falling and turned into a downpour. Lu Jinfeng thought the rain would last all day, so he went to Li Xuanyue's house early. After a while, the rain stopped.

He walked into Li Xuanyue's house holding a dripping umbrella. He glanced at the umbrella rack nearby and casually placed it somewhere, letting the water drip onto the floor. He handled this trivial, annoying thing that would have annoyed Li Xuanyue with ease. Lu Jinfeng turned around and sat on the sofa in the living room as if nothing had happened. After a while, he lay down drowsily.

The sound of rain in his ears gradually weakened. Lu Jinfeng stared out the window in a trance, his vision becoming increasingly blurry. The uneasiness that had been bothering him recently found a way to come out again.

Lately, not many people have mentioned Bai Shunan in his presence; even Li Xuanyue has stopped talking about him. He's seen him less and less frequently, and it feels like he's been back to where he was half a month ago. Even though it's only been a short time ago, it still feels unbearably boring. The thought of retiring from the entertainment industry always creeps into his mind at these moments, and the more it happens, the less he wants to think about it. It feels like everything he does, everything he does, is tinged with an attempt to escape.

Li Xuanyue invited almost all her friends to this party. Most of them didn't stay on the first floor and went to the screening room on the second floor where a classic film was playing.

So when Lu Jinfeng woke up after a short nap, although it was dark and the rain had stopped, he was still alone on the first floor. He was groggy from his sleep and listened to the noises on the second floor. He didn't know any of Li Xuanyue's friends well, and not wanting to help promote their work for no reason, he gave up the idea of going upstairs.

Lu Jinfeng looked around and felt that the rain had made everything here damp and stuffy. His eyes finally fell on the opened red wine on the table.

Should I fill it up? This thought kept swirling in Lu Jinfeng's mind as he picked up the bottle. While he was hesitating, the lights suddenly went out. Lu Jinfeng's hand was careless, and some red wine spilled onto the table. He frowned and put the bottle down, considering several possibilities. At the same time, faced with the sudden darkness, he habitually groped for the switch. Halfway through, Lu Jinfeng thought about leaving again, changed direction, and walked towards the door. As he walked, there were sudden rumbles of thunder, a few flashes of white light, and then the door opened.

I hope he didn't encounter a ghost today. Lu Jinfeng took a deep breath and shuddered in his heart. He suppressed his panic, picked up a heavy book from the bookshelf and walked quickly towards the door. The door to the entrance was open, and he seemed to see a dark shadow walking in. Lu Jinfeng resisted the urge to throw the book away, and kept walking closer and closer to the source of the sound. He almost felt the cool smell after the rain was coming, but for him, everything was still too fast.

Bai Shunan had just entered the house, still unaware of the darkness. Thinking he'd walked into the wrong place, he took a few tentative steps forward when a figure suddenly lunged at him. With no time to dodge, he was practically forced to catch the attacker. Bai Shunan lost his balance, slipped on the spreading water on the floor, and fell uncontrollably backwards. With a dull thud, his hat hit the wall and landed askew on the ground.

A fierce pain spread out. Bai Shunan, who was lying on the ground, leaned his head against the wall. He moved slightly, but was pressed down by the heavy weight again. Bai Shunan found that the person who fell on him had no intention of getting up, and he himself was unable to stand up for a while. Bai Shunan placed his hand on the back of the person who fell on him and patted him gently, "Are you hurt?"

Lu Jinfeng, who dared not speak, said: "..."

Who can tell him why the ground is so slippery?

When he thought that it might be his own fault, Lu Jinfeng became even more silent. He lowered his head with despair. Lu Jinfeng originally wanted to stand up immediately, but he became dazed when he smelled the familiar scent of someone holding him. He unconsciously wrinkled the clothes in front of him, and he heard clearly the voice that called him back to consciousness.

At this moment, Lu Jinfeng was of course clear about who he fell on. He originally wanted to get up and scold Bai Shunan, but he felt that it was too shameless. He also imagined the scene of pushing Bai Shunan away in his mind, and did not pay any attention to the passage of time.

When Bai Shunan reminded him again, Lu Jinfeng felt a strange feeling in his heart, and he quietly collapsed in shame at the moment. But then he thought, doesn't Bai Shunan hate him? Why does he have to annoy him like this?

Lu Jinfeng's hair kept brushing against Bai Shunan's neck, tickling him. Bai Shunan tilted his head back slightly, listening to the occasional thunder and the fleeting flash of white light. He swept across the carpet stained red by red wine, and Bai Shunan's hand rested on the man just like that.

Lu Jinfeng noticed Bai Shunan's movements, as if he was resisting. He lowered his head even deeper. Lu Jinfeng wanted to leave again. To explain this series of changes in his heart, he thought, maybe it was to prove that he still had hatred for him, no matter how vague it was. Even though he was thinking this, his body fell uncontrollably on Bai Shunan more and more weakly.

The warm breath he exhaled lingered in his arms and spread across his cool cheeks. When his uneasiness was soothed, an unbearable distress arose from the ups and downs of his emotions. Lu Jinfeng didn't want to think much at this moment. His mind recalled the sound of something falling not long ago. All his thoughts were overshadowed by worry, even the warmth on his back that was hard to ignore through his clothes was forgotten. When he wanted to get up, in this silent night, he was so close to him, but he felt an lingering sadness. He seemed to be alone, fragile, willful and ignorant. Lu Jinfeng suddenly spoke, his voice like a whisper, as light as a sigh. He said words without thinking, hidden in the deepest part of his heart, feelings that he would not easily show to others, "I'm not happy."

A moment of slackness dragged out his weak spirit. Lu Jinfeng was shocked, his heart began to beat wildly, tension and helplessness were about to embed into his body. Lu Jinfeng felt the hand on his back stiffen, and he suddenly felt uncomfortable all over, his face filled with embarrassment of having his secret discovered and exposed.

He couldn't stay here any longer. What prompted him to say such reckless words? Tears streamed down his face, revealing his unconscious heart. The thought strongly drove his body, and he subconsciously wanted to leave, leaving behind his fleeing back in Bai Shunan's eyes.

Lu Jinfeng walked down the stairs in a daze, regret brewing, mocking his precarious state of mind. Behind him, footsteps approached, someone running towards him. Suddenly, a gust of wind blew, and he felt a weight on his body. As Lu Jinfeng turned around, he felt the pressure coming down on him. Someone grabbed his shoulders and hugged him tightly. Before he could react, he subconsciously leaned his head back against the person's shoulder, swaying half a step back. He staggered to the edge of the stairs, finally steadying his steps.

His hands stopped in mid-air at a loss, his heart throbbing with this familiar warmth.

He tried to move backward, but Bai Shunan leaned forward and walked down the stairs in small steps, holding each other tightly without loosening his arms. They stood on the same stairs, hugging each other too tightly.

Lu Jinfeng no longer raised his head. The force from his neck made him lean on Bai Shunan's shoulder, letting Bai Shunan lean on him. The pair of hands that were suspended in the air swayed and finally rested on Bai Shunan's back.

Birds flew by in the distance, and the two people who were blurred together came into focus as the camera gradually zoomed in, next to a clear tree with swaying branches and leaves, under the street light. Their figures hugged each other tightly and trembled slightly. With a "click", a photo was taken.

Lu Jinfeng hugged Bai Shunan tightly. In panic, the joy behind his pretense of strength came up along with the lingering sadness.

What is this, like it? And then, love it?

As the evening breeze blew, he lowered his eyes in thought, secretly delighted.

He understands, he loves.
