Chapter 109

Chapter 109

The Queen's Law

Lin Jin slowly stood up, supporting herself on the armrests of her wheelchair, and gave a wink to the bodyguard not far away.

The bodyguard understood immediately and dragged the unconscious Cheng Xing to the ground, then repeatedly wiped the spot where he had been lying with his sleeve.

Lin Jin was indeed disgusted by these filthy things. After waiting for a while, she slowly strolled over to the sofa and sat down.

She was born to be an invincible queen. She didn't need to say anything; just sitting there, her aura was naturally amplified.

She glanced down at the man at her feet, feeling it was bad luck to look at him even once more, so she simply turned her gaze to Mr. and Mrs. Cheng.

When Cheng's father saw that the people Lin Jin brought were all tall and strong, making his family look like ants being crushed in comparison, his initial arrogance vanished, and his face turned ashen, as if he had suddenly fallen ill.

"How so?" Lin Jin spread his hands and shrugged, only uttering three words, yet they had the effect of severely damaging the other party.

Seeing that Mr. and Mrs. Cheng remained unmoved, she continued to press the issue: "I can't just let you go like this, I have to give you some explanation."

Lin Jin was like a smiling tiger, his smile mocking, chilling, and menacing, as if he wanted to devour people without spitting out the bones.

The more relaxed she laughed, the more terrifying the viciousness emanating from her became.

You have to understand, this woman is no saint. She has a long list of ways to fight evil with evil, and they are all just tricks she can pull off at will.

Soon, the smile on her lips vanished, and her deep, unfathomable eyes stared intently, as if trying to pierce through the other person's heart and ruthlessly manipulate them.

Exhausted, Cheng Sangluo huddled in a corner. The encirclement and pursuit she had just experienced seemed to have drained all her energy.

She was so good at handling all kinds of unexpected situations, yet she was completely helpless against this group of vampires.

Although she didn't know why Lin Jin had suddenly returned, seeing her lover taking charge of the situation, she breathed a sigh of relief, and her heart felt much more at ease.

Lin Jin was quite patient. While waiting for the other party's response, she glanced at the sickly puppy and gave it a gentle look, as if silently comforting it: Don't be afraid, I'm here.

Despite the large number of people standing in the living room, the atmosphere was so cold that it made one shiver uncontrollably.

She turned her attention back to the two elderly people, her last bit of patience worn thin. "Fine, you won't say anything, huh? Then let's just keep this up. I have plenty of time."

Seeing that the other party had no intention of letting them go, Cheng's mother secretly tugged at her husband's sleeve and pleaded timidly, "Old man...please say something..."

Mr. Cheng shoved her arm away fiercely, then quickly put on a fawning smile and explained, “Miss Lin, there might be a misunderstanding. We just wanted to come and see Sangluo. After all, we haven’t seen her for quite some time, and as her parents, we are naturally worried about how she is doing.”

This pretentious explanation is like a grand-sounding joke, so perfunctory in its attempt to appear serious.

Cheng Sangluo propped her cheek with one hand, looked at her father's ugly face, and let out a short snort: "You weren't like this just now. Weren't you trying to steal the valuables here? How come you've come to visit me now? Didn't you want to destroy my family?"

This soul-searching question left Mr. Cheng speechless. Mrs. Cheng wanted to say something to reconcile them, but her daughter glared at her mercilessly.

"I told you before, don't bother her anymore. It seems you've taken my words to heart. If you want to leave this room today, at least one of you three will have to leave with a leg. You'll only learn your lesson if you don't pay the price." Lin Jin's tone was calm, but his words were full of barbed threats.

She was a woman of her word, and the two elderly people had witnessed her ruthlessness. These words undoubtedly declared that the outcome would not be changed.

Of course, Lin Jin wasn't without reason. The fact that this family of ghostly companions could find Cheng Sangluo so accurately and even break into the heavily guarded Linxi Terrace must mean that someone was behind it.

As for who it is, it's obvious who the mastermind is—Lin Sheng.

Lin Jin understood perfectly. He reached out and took the coffee from Secretary Zhou, sipping it as he relented, saying, "I'll give you one chance. Answer my questions truthfully. If you answer to my satisfaction, I'll let you go today. But if you conceal even the slightest thing, I won't break your legs; I'll send you straight to the police station. With my connections and legal team, getting a proper sentence is a piece of cake."

Mr. Cheng clasped his hands together, and upon hearing that the other party would let him go, he nodded repeatedly in agreement: "You, you, you can ask me anything. As long as it's something I know, I promise to answer truthfully."

"Who sent you?" Lin Jin asked bluntly, adding, "Of course, I know who instructed you, so you can't fool me at all."

Cheng Sangluo was also secretly pondering how this family had gotten into Linxi Terrace. Hearing his wife's words, he suddenly understood that the person who had instructed them must be Lin Sheng. As for why he still questioned the old couple, it was, of course, to turn his suspicions into facts.

"I...we don't know who he is either..." Cheng's mother hurriedly explained, her anxious tone sounding genuine.

She tried hard to recall and recounted the whole story: "Last night, someone suddenly came to us and gave us this address, saying that we could find Sang Luo. They also said that Sang Luo is doing very well now and has plenty of money, so why not come here to ask her for some living expenses?"

Lin Jin pondered, her fingertips gently tracing the rim of the glass. "Is it just that I found you and gave you this address? I'll emphasize again, don't try to fool me."

"No, no, no, there's more..." Mr. Cheng, annoyed that his wife hadn't explained things clearly, quickly chimed in to continue explaining: "This morning, he picked us up in a luxury car, saying he could take us into this upscale neighborhood. He also gave us a wad of cash and told us to cause some trouble while we were looking for Sang Luo, preferably to provoke her into hurting someone."

As Cheng Sangluo listened to her parents' words, her expression grew increasingly grim. Her cold fingers gradually curled up, and the veins on the back of her hands became clearly visible.

She stood up furiously and charged at the two men, but then pushed them away in time, screaming, "Do you deserve to be parents? Do you deserve to be parents? What kind of parents persecute their own children? Didn't you think my one stint in jail was enough? You want to hurt me again? For a few stinking dollars, you'd go to such lengths! You deserve to die, you deserve to die!"

Lin Jin pursed her lips and remained silent, feeling a sharp pang of sadness as she watched the puppy's hysterical state.

She waved her hand, signaling the bodyguard to pull the puppy away, lest he get angry and actually hit someone, and then even if he was in the right, he would be in the wrong.

Two bodyguards rushed forward and grabbed Cheng Sangluo firmly, but they still seemed to be struggling.

"Let me go!" Cheng Sangluo struggled to pull her arm back, slammed her head into the guest room, and slammed the door shut.

Lin Jin hoped the puppy could be alone for a while, at least out of sight and out of mind, and at least it wouldn't suffer any more blows.

She turned her attention back to the two men and said coldly, "You are not innocent. You still have to pay for your mistakes. I will not let you off easily. Trespassing, robbing others, creating disturbances, committing crimes together... If you have anything else to say, go talk to the police."

With that, Lin Jin put down her cup and instructed, "Zhou Ran, call the police."

"Didn't you promise us that you would let us go as long as we answered your questions truthfully?!" Mr. Cheng panicked and knelt down on the ground with a thud, pleading urgently, "Please forgive us this time because we are Sangluo's parents. We won't dare to do it again. We'll disappear immediately and promise not to bother you again."

"I've already let you off once, but you didn't listen to my advice. To deal with scoundrels, you have to use scoundrel methods." Lin Jin smiled sarcastically, then his face quickly darkened, and he rebuked in a deep voice, "What right do you have to call yourselves Sang Luo's parents?"

She watched the two emaciated old people kneeling on the ground, kowtowing incessantly, without feeling a ripple of emotion. Instead, she thought this method was shortening her lifespan. "If kowtowing were effective, the world wouldn't be so chaotic. You don't want me to call the police, fine, but leave one leg. Think about it, who should suffer this torment?"

Lin Jin raised her arm, and Secretary Zhou helped her to her feet. She then kicked Cheng Xing, who was standing next to her, and sneered, "Stop pretending. You've been awake for a while now, haven't you?"

Seeing that the man who was pretending to be unconscious was not moving, she had her own way of tormenting him.

Before long, a bodyguard walked up to Cheng Xing and stepped on his hand with his rubber-soled boot, grinding it hard a few times.

Cheng Xing winced in pain, trying to pull her hand away, but she couldn't get it free. She struggled to sit up, hissing in pain, "Hiss..."

Lin Jin looked at the person in front of her who resembled Cheng Sangluo and felt even more disgusted. She picked up her cup and poured coffee on his head. She turned to the two old people who were kneeling and wouldn't get up and mocked, "It seems that your precious son can only stand by and watch someone die. Why don't you break his other leg and make it a perfect pair?"

Upon recalling what happened that night in Port 17, Cheng Xing screamed in terror, "No, no, no... don't hit me... hit them... they're spineless..."

"You scoundrel!" Hearing Cheng Xing's disrespectful words that had caused him to be struck by lightning that day, Cheng's father was so angry that he wanted to rush forward and slap Cheng Xing. "Useless thing, our family has fallen to this state because of you. How dare you say such things!"

"Tsk tsk tsk..." Lin Jin clicked his tongue after enjoying this 'filial piety' drama, then laughed loudly: "Alright, alright, you can go now."

This sudden act of forgiveness left the family of three speechless and momentarily stunned.

Lin Jin smiled, a smile that held a profound meaning and concealed an unfathomable and treacherous depth.

She was impatient, and said in a threatening tone, "Aren't you leaving? If you don't leave soon, I'm going to change my mind."

"What are you standing there for? Come on!" Cheng Xing sprang to his parents, anxiously pulling them up and urging, "Come on, come on... hurry up..."

Seeing the family running out of the house like madmen, Lin Jin remained seated on the sofa. She turned to her bodyguards and instructed them, "That man loves to gamble. You take the lead, and someone will cripple his legs."

Upon receiving the order, the lead bodyguard accepted the task: "Don't worry, boss, we will handle it properly."

"Let's all go, I'm tired," Lin Jin said, and Secretary Zhou quickly led the group out of the house.

In an instant, the empty living room fell into a deathly silence.

Lin Jin finished his work at Zhongyao Technology early and took the earliest flight back to Zhouhai, originally wanting to give Cheng Sangluo a surprise, but he never expected to encounter this kind of thing as soon as he entered the house.

She wearily rubbed her sore shoulders and neck, secretly marveling at how timely she had been; if she had arrived a few seconds later, everything would have been a tragic mess that could never be salvaged.

Thinking of this, she prepared to get up and go to the room to check on the puppy, but unexpectedly the person opened the door by himself and stood there lifelessly.

Cheng Sangluo seemed to have lost all her energy, gripping the doorknob and staring blankly at Lin Jin.

Her face was filled with deep apology, and she remained silent for a long, long time before finally saying, "I'm sorry for causing you trouble."

"They're the ones who made the mistake, why should you apologize? Take back your apology and don't bear pain that isn't yours." Lin Jin said firmly, but looking at the puppy's drooping head, she felt a pang of pity in her heart.

She smiled gently again, patted the seat next to her, and said coquettishly, "Flying is so tiring, come and give me a massage."
