Chapter 54

Chapter 54

An Unrecognizable Heartbeat [Highlights]

"Fall off a cliff."

Lin Jin only managed to utter two words, but they were filled with the heavy feeling of falling into an abyss.

But there was no sadness on her face. It was an emotion of utter despair after accepting the truth, as if those faded, yellowed images were things that happened in a past life and had little to do with her anymore.

Cheng Sangluo reacted even more strongly. Her eyes widened, and she tightened her embrace until Lin Jin let out a brief, muffled groan of pain.

"I'm sorry...I'm sorry...I...did I hurt you?" She awkwardly let go of his arm, frantically rubbing Lin Jin's shoulder. "Does it still hurt?"

Lin Jin shook her head and teased, "It's not the first time you've hurt me, why are you so nervous? It's strange, you seem to really like apologizing to me tonight. You used to be so stingy with saying sorry."

She tried to appear nonchalant, so she used a very relaxed tone, but the more she pretended to be indifferent, the more uncomfortable it made people feel.

She buried her face in the puppy's arms again, squinted her eyes and continued to recall: "My mother never knew that my father had been keeping a mistress before he got married, and that mistress was Lin Sheng's mother."

Lin Sheng and I were born in the same year. He was a few months older than me. At first, the mistress thought that by giving birth to a son, she could secure a place in the Lin family. However, she did not expect that her grandfather valued not only bloodline inheritance but also family background and social standing.

My grandfather never acknowledged the existence of the mother and son until I was eight years old, when he died of late-stage lung cancer.

My father rightfully inherited the Lin family business and immediately brought Ruan Jinxian and Lin Sheng to the Lin family ancestral home, wanting them to live with me and my mother.

Doesn't it sound ridiculous? What era are we living in? There are still people engaging in that disgusting family dynamic of having multiple wives and concubines.

In just half a year, Ruan Jinxian revealed her ugliest side. She was not satisfied with just living in the Lin family, so she tried every means to squeeze out her mother and also wanted to get rid of me, the stumbling block that hindered her son from inheriting the family property.

The night my mother fell off the cliff, there was thunder and lightning, heavy rain and strong winds.

The power suddenly went out at the Lin residence. No one knew whose arrangement it was, but all the servants in the entire house were dismissed. Coincidentally, the father had been abroad for a month on business.

Because I was afraid of the dark, I ran to my mother's bedroom.

The moment I pushed open the door, I saw a person in a black raincoat, raising an axe to chop at my mother's leg.

As if trapped in terrible memories, Lin Jin cleared her throat and buried her face even deeper, as if trying to crawl into Cheng Sangluo's body to hide herself.

She trembled all over as she nestled into Cheng Sangluo's arms, and equally infectious was the fear that crept out from the depths of her soul.

Her brows furrowed deeply, and even with her eyes open, the axe in her memory still gleamed with the white light of lightning, cold and clear.

Cheng Sangluo wanted to stop her from continuing to recall, but before she could speak, the stubborn woman continued to recall: "Perhaps he heard a noise, the person stopped what he was doing and turned his head to face me."

Run, Jinjin, run!

My mother clung to the man in black's leg, screaming at me to run away, but I was terrified and couldn't move an inch. I just stood there dumbfounded.

The man in black grabbed my mother by the hair, chopped her in the back with an axe, and then charged at me.

I ran barefoot through the corridor and the courtyard, all the way to the edge of the cliff outside the Lin residence. Guess who I met?

I saw Ruan Jinxian holding an umbrella and holding Lin Sheng's hand. They seemed to have anticipated this outcome, standing there like ghosts with a chilling smile on their faces.

Ruan Jinxian grabbed my arm, pretending to be completely unaware, and said some caring words, but she kept pushing me to the edge of a cliff.

That night, that damned, wicked woman taught me something: wanting someone to die is the greatest forgiveness you can show them; to live out the rest of your life in misery is the real punishment.

When the man in black arrived, he did not harm the mother and child, and I knew who was the culprit.

Ruan Jinxian took out a bottle of sulfuric acid from her bosom and gestured to the person to aim it at my face and destroy it completely.

Just as I was struggling in vain, my mother dragged her injured body over and pulled me into her arms. The sulfuric acid was poured on her, but it also burned my back through the gaps.

Ruan Jinxian was furious that the man in black hadn't killed her mother, so she went into a frenzy and roared that they had to die in the downpour.

The mother's blood mixed with the rainwater diluted the sulfuric acid, but it was still too late to save her. With her last breath, she grabbed the man's waist and rushed towards the cliff.

Jinjin, run!!!

That was the last look she gave me as she fell off the cliff, and the last thing she said to me.

Run, you must run, run to a place where no one will find you and hide until this stormy night ends, until dawn arrives.

Before anyone could react, I took off running. I was glad that the Lin residence was large with many courtyards, and I was also glad that I was more familiar with the layout of the entire estate than they were.

I ran around in circles, and Lin Sheng followed me desperately until he got lost. Then I sneaked back to my bedroom again.

Perhaps subconsciously, I thought the most dangerous place was the safest, which is why I hid back in my room.

While they were still searching outside, I wiped the marks on the ground clean, then wrapped myself in a pile of clothes and hid at the very bottom of the wardrobe.

Like a horror movie, it was a terrifying game of hide-and-seek.

I heard Ruan Jinxian's shrill laughter echoing in the corridor. She called my name, asking if I was in pain and if I missed my mother, until the footsteps grew closer and closer, until she opened the wardrobe door.

Luckily, the power went out at the Lin residence, so she didn't find me hiding at the very bottom of the wardrobe. I guess I made the right bet.

Lin Jin's voice stopped abruptly, and the ward instantly fell into a cold, silent silence.

Her tear ducts were dry and unable to produce a single tear; all that remained in her emotions was a cold hatred. Despite being so terrified of everything that happened that night, she still bravely told Cheng Sangluo the whole story.

There was one person she didn't mention as an observer that night, and that was Qin Shuhuai.

Cheng Sangluo reached out her fingertips to touch Lin Jin's face, expecting to feel a constant flow of moisture, but to her surprise, the face was only slightly cool to the touch and there was nothing there.

She was terrified and panicked. How much cruelty must a person endure to not cry in the face of fear?

In that instant, Cheng Sangluo's heart softened completely. She couldn't help but cup Lin Jin's cheeks and gently press her forehead against his furrowed brows. "And then what happened? Where did the police go? Why did the victim suffer all the injustice while the perpetrator could still live a carefree life?"

"And then? My father, who hadn't been home for a month, suddenly appeared the day after my mother fell off the cliff. What could the police do then?"

The perpetrator and his mother fell off the cliff together, and everything became impossible to verify.

Whether it was from catching a cold and fever after being caught in the rain, or from excessive fear, I lay in bed in a daze for several days, babbling incoherently, so no one believed anything an eight-year-old girl said.

My mother was gone. The case was classified as intentional homicide resulting from burglary. My father and the mother and son finally became a family of three, while I was taken away by my maternal grandparents.

Lin Jin continued to recount the most tragic ending in the calmest tone, her words revealing that Lin Zhen was also an accomplice in this murder, and that it might all have been a premeditated scheme by him.

Another long silence followed.

Cheng Sangluo tried hard to compose herself, but the palm of her hand stroking Lin Jin's head trembled slightly, easily betraying the bitterness in her heart.

She empathized and felt sorry for her. She realized that even the high and mighty madwoman had suffered cruel injustice, and that the pain she felt was a thousand times worse than her own three years of wrongful imprisonment.

She gritted her teeth and calmly came to a conclusion: "So you've been trying every means to get close to me and are willing to help me get revenge on Xu Songheng, all because of his relationship with Lin Sheng, right?"

"If I said it wasn't just because of these things, would you believe me?" Lin Jin wanted to tell everyone about those blank years all at once.

I so want to tell the puppy at this moment that she has endured countless days and nights of waiting.

In her fantasies and dreams, she had woven countless reunions, until today, when she finally succumbed to the embrace of reality.

But when the words reached her lips, she struggled to utter a single syllable, so she had to change her words and say, "Actually, we are all the same kind of people, both victims of injustice. Xu Songheng is just a puppet of Lin Sheng. Have you ever thought that the person who really put you in jail is actually Lin Sheng?"

Cheng Sangluo knew, of course, but she could only pretend to be clueless. "Why do you suspect that Lin Sheng harmed me? What else do you know? Tell me."

"I should have said it before, I know more than you imagine." Lin Jin left a riddle, or rather, a hook, "Cheng Sangluo, let's get married. Not for any other reason than that while you need me, I also need you. You need to protect me, accompany me, take care of me, and listen to me..."

I need your heart so much, and I need your love even more.

This Lin Jin is so gentle, so soft, unlike her usual fierce and aggressive self. Perhaps this is her truest self.

Lin Jin is frail, helpless, and lonely.

Cheng Sangluo sighed to himself, but still did not respond.

She silently turned off the bedside lamp, and in the darkness, she held the heartbroken man even tighter, trying to use her embrace to dispel the terrible memories that had been stirred up.

This was an unprecedented intimacy, two pitiful people seeking each other's warmth. There was no need to strip naked and revel, no need to use words to draw them closer. The seeds of affection were buried in the silent embrace, growing wildly in the depths of the night.

Cheng Sang explored Lin Jin's face through the blurry vision until the beautiful, melancholic woman responded to her touch, gently covering her lips with her hand and giving her a light, shallow kiss with her breath.

Even though Cheng Sangluo refused to admit it, she still couldn't help but feel the ripples in her heart.

She finally relented: "Lin Jin, could you give me some time? Once I've thought it through, I'll give you a proper answer."

Lin Jin closed her eyes wearily, sniffing the puppy's scent, and for the first time showed such respect, "Okay, I'll wait for you, but please don't make me wait forever."

*

For Lin Jin, the tender night with the puppy was like a fleeting dream, so brief that it was hard to distinguish between reality and illusion.

Cheng Sangluo left quietly before she woke up, without saying goodbye or saying when she would come to visit again.

In the two weeks since we parted, time has moved incredibly slowly, slowed down by the seemingly endless wait.

Chi Jue's ankle surgery was very successful. Lin Jin couldn't stand the environment of the ordinary ward, so she was quickly transferred to the health center for rest.

Many people visited her during that time, even Ruan Jinxian and Lin Zhen came to offer insincere greetings, but the little dog that had run away never came, and didn't even send a single message of concern.

The sheer size of the luxurious wards at the health and wellness center only served to highlight the depth of Lin Jin's loneliness. As the days passed, the person she was waiting for gradually became a mere illusion.

Lin Jin's heart sank into an ice cave. She sat on the spacious hospital bed all day, staring blankly at the narrow patch of sky outside the window, sometimes for most of the day.

She began to suspect that Cheng Sangluo had lied to her, that the endless wait was just an excuse to escape while she was injured and trying to avoid her debts, and now was the perfect time.

Lin Jin had no choice but to accept the fact that the puppy had abandoned her. The man, like a fleeting bird that she couldn't grasp, simply vanished from her world without a second thought.

She began to experience physiological aversion, vomiting uncontrollably after eating even a little bit of food. Her emotional symptoms worsened, and medication alone was no longer effective in controlling them.

Dr. Qin stayed by her side every day, watching her grow thinner and thinner but unable to eat. He could only arrange for her to receive intravenous nutrition to maintain her basic vital signs.

When Qin Congyi was at his wit's end, he made a self-doubting pronouncement: "Lin Jin, it seems I can no longer save you."

Lin Jin lay disheveled on her sickbed, weakly murmuring, "Cheng Sangluo... Cheng Sangluo... Cheng Sangluo..."

Her eyes were red and wet, and she was having difficulty breathing, teetering on the edge of an emotional abyss in despair.

But is that really the case?

Unbeknownst to Lin Jin, on the second night of her hospitalization, Cheng Sangluo took the initiative to approach Shu Wan and resign from her security job.

She still refused to admit that quitting this well-paying job was entirely for the sake of the crazy woman's feelings, so she found herself an excellent reason: in the days to come, she needed a lot of time to investigate Xu Songheng and Lin Sheng, and these things could only be done at night.

The night she resigned, Shu Wan sat in a private business room on the second floor of the bar, her face calm, but not as gentle as usual.

She tried her best to persuade Cheng Sangluo to stay, offering even more tempting salary and benefits. In a moment of emotional breakdown, she even said many hurtful things to Lin Jin.

The inevitable result was failure.

She couldn't keep someone who was determined to leave, especially since that person was Cheng Sangluo, who was so stubborn that even ten oxen couldn't pull her back.

Shu Wan had no choice but to put her generous salary on the dinner table.

She didn't want to look at Cheng Sangluo any longer, afraid that her heart, which had been fluttering since their first meeting, would be stirred again, so she simply turned her head and drank the hard-to-swallow wine in silence.

Cheng Sangluo didn't feel at ease taking the money and leaving. Before leaving, she bowed to Shu Wan and thanked her: "Miss Shu, thank you for taking care of me these days, and thank you for your generosity and understanding. I will always remember the favor I owe you."

Shu Wan regained her gentle demeanor, but her tone was somewhat sad: "You should leave. It's better to forget about that favor."

......

Even without Lin Jin's interference, Cheng Sangluo's days were not easy.

During the day, she still works as a cashier at the convenience store, a monotonous and tedious job, like a robot performing repetitive actions.

As she tossed and turned in the dead of night, lying on her rickety cot on the floor, she held her tattered cell phone high, hesitating whether to call or send a concerned text to that crazy woman.

This person, who is not afraid of death, is afraid of intimacy through a screen. The courage to run away from home prevents her from ever successfully taking that step to send a greeting.

She didn't know why she had lost her courage, nor what was causing her to suffer from insomnia every night.

So, being undisturbed suddenly turned into days of increasing torment from not seeing each other.

During those days, Cheng Sangluo made no progress in investigating his own affairs, but he made progress in investigating another matter.

She found the group of thugs who were about to kill Lin Jin. They were the same group that kidnapped Cheng Xing. The clues she found came from a memorable baseball bat.

That night, Cheng Sangluo followed the thugs all the way to a dilapidated fishing village on the outskirts of Zhouhai.

The village had been abandoned for many years, with only two or three households living there now.

This remote place seems to have been forgotten by the city, and its abnormal development has turned it into a lawless zone.

Someone set up a gambling den in the village. It was deserted during the day, but at night it became a chaotic and smoky place.

Cheng Sangluo guessed that he had encountered the thugs twice, and since such a place was not easy to sneak into, he decided to hide in the haystack outside the gambling den and keep watch.

Her goal was simple: to find the creditor, question him about Xu Songheng, and incidentally, find a way to get these people arrested.

If she were to say that she was going through all this to clear her name, the reasons would be perfectly valid and irrefutable. But why risk her life to wipe everyone out? Cheng Sangluo had no reason to convince herself that she could have avoided the trouble.

Perhaps it was her ankle that kept flashing through her mind that was causing the problem.

At first, her slender white ankles were held in his palms, but because her dignity was trampled, he secretly exerted force to control her.

Later, its congested and swollen appearance made it look pitiful, just like its owner, who was both arrogant and heartbreaking.

At that moment, Cheng Sanglu felt a desire for revenge.

She wasn't seeking revenge for her own grudge, but for the madwoman who had entered her heart.

When the thought crossed her mind, she was startled, but she quickly recorded a video and sent it to Ji Nanxing, along with her location.

Ji Nanxing replied quickly, without any doubt, concluding that the place in the video was an underground gambling den.

She told Cheng Sangluo to squat down properly and not to make any rash moves, and that the police would be dispatched to provide assistance immediately.

However, Cheng Sangluo, already filled with murderous intent, stormed into the thieves' den alone.

There was only one thug keeping watch at the door, wearing a helmet and carrying a baseball bat.

Cheng Sangluo pulled off a sneak attack, successfully changing into the other person's clothes.

She put on a helmet to avoid being seen, lingered at the door for a while pretending to be someone who needed water, and then went inside under the pretense of getting water.

"As marine reconnaissance soldiers, you not only need to survey the terrain, but also identify the anchor points for concentrated fire in a very short time. In military exercises, your task is to locate enemy strongholds and provide support for the unit's overall offensive."

Cheng Sangluo was a little distracted, thinking about how she had to navigate through the dense forest, both guarding against enemy reconnaissance teams and completing her own mission in an orderly manner.

She's smart and good at applying what she's learned to other situations. She used her practical experience to find the most influential person in the casino immediately.

The moneylenders were easy to find, since they had met in 17 Hong Kong before.

"Hey, why aren't you guarding outside? What are you doing running in here?"

Just as Cheng Sangluo was about to enter the innermost room of the casino, she was stopped by a thug.

Fortunately, she remained calm and answered in a low voice, "It's so hot outside, come in and get some water."

"You're new here, aren't you? The break room is over there. You can't just walk into this room like that. Be careful, or you might get shot by the boss." The thug didn't suspect anything and kindly reminded him, "Take your water and get out of here quickly."

After hearing what the other party said, Cheng Sangluo became even more certain that the boss with the gun was the same person she had met in Port 17.

She nodded sullenly, then turned around and glanced around again.

The casino wasn't big, with only about ten tables. People were playing poker, mahjong, and betting on big or small, and they were making a lot of noise.

There were about a dozen thugs standing guard nearby, each guarding a table. The cramped space was filled with the smell of smoke, which made people's throats and eyes uncomfortable.

Suddenly, a person limped out of the small house, saw Cheng Sangluo turning to leave, and called out, "Stop."

Cheng Sangluo's heart skipped a beat, and her breathing, trapped inside her helmet, became heavier.

She turned around, trying to appear calm, and was slightly taken aback when she saw the person who had called out to her. It was the thug whose ankle Lin Jin had broken.

The man lit a cigarette, looked her up and down, then hopped two steps toward her, as if trying to see through her helmet. "What are you doing?"

When Cheng Sangluo was about to answer to ask for water, she had already noticed the look of suspicion in the other person's eyes.

At the same time, the wary man growled, "No, you're not one of us!"

Cheng Sangluo can always formulate a predictive plan in the blink of an eye.

It's better to attack when you're suspected than to be restrained and have your helmet removed to silence you; at least you can gain a sliver of a chance to win.

Without saying a word, Cheng Sangluo picked up the lame man and rushed towards the door, partly to break into the small house and partly to pin down the person who first discovered her and block the door.

As she expected, the old, dilapidated wooden door would be easily breached.

The inner room was equivalent to a casino's VIP room. There was only one table of people inside, and the boss she was looking for was sitting in a prominent position.

Cheng Sangluo spotted her target, stepped onto the gambling table, and leaped at the gang leader, kneeing him in the stomach. This would temporarily incapacitate him, making it easier to suppress his chance to draw his gun.

This commotion attracted a horde of thugs, but they were all too late.

In that brief moment, Cheng Sang, with an extremely keen sense of not being able to disarm the other party, directly cocked the gun and pressed it against his temple.

Her tone was relaxed, even with a hint of a smile: "Hey, the bullets are already loaded, do you dare to come in?"

"Don't move!" The leader was so frightened that his face was trembling. He raised his hands to stop his men from doing anything rash.

He squinted, trying to see who was holding him hostage, but the helmet obscured his view, so he gave up. "You...who are you?"

Cheng Sangluo didn't answer directly, but tapped his head with the gun butt, "You taught me in Port 17, right? You have to use your brain to solve problems."

The man belatedly realized what was happening and growled, "It's you! Cheng Sangluo?!"

"Long time no see, creditor." Cheng Sangluo greeted him with a smile, then immediately corrected himself: "No, I mean former creditor."

What are you doing here?

"Of course I'm here to ask you a few questions." Cheng Sangluo pressed the gun hard against the other person's head, then hid behind him, wrapping her other arm around his neck. "Don't try to fool me. You said bullets don't have eyes."

"You...you...you...tell me...I promise I'll tell you everything I know..."

Cheng Sangluo had many questions, but the first one that came to her mind wasn't for herself: "Did Lin Sheng send your men to attack Lin Jin?"

"It's...it's him..."

"Look, your subordinate only lost one leg, I think that's a huge loss." Cheng Sangluo looked at the person kneeling by the door with a dark face, and shushed him, demanding, "He should lose another one, it's auspicious to have good things in pairs, what do you think?"

The man dared not resist. With his neck being strangled, he could barely breathe and could only growl in a hoarse voice, "What are you all standing there for? Hit him!"

Cheng Sangluo watched as the man who had broken Lin Jin's ankle was beaten by a group of thugs, and let out a satisfied chuckle: "Second question, how long have you known Xu Songheng?"

"It's been five...five or six years...many years..."

"So that means you already knew Xu Songheng three years ago." Cheng Sangluo pondered for a moment, then asked, "Three years ago, there was a fight in Nanwu Village. Were your people involved? When I appeared in Seventeen Port, you recognized me at a glance, which means you knew me a long time ago, right?"

"I don't know... I don't know anything about the fight in Nanwu Village... I..."

"Are you kidding me?" Cheng Sangluo pushed the man's head harder again. "Pretend, keep pretending. If you get another hole in your body, will you regain your memories?"

"I remember, I remember, I sent my men to follow Xu Songheng, but I wasn't there, I really wasn't there!" The man finally relented, explaining, "If I had been there, you would remember me, right?"

Cheng Sangluo thought it made sense, and hesitated for a moment before moving on to the next question.

"police!"

"Don't move! Don't move at all!"

"Put your hands behind your head, squat down obediently, and don't move!"

Several shouts from police officers came from outside, interrupting Cheng Sangluo's questioning.

She shoved the man to the side and quickly and skillfully removed the gun.

In just ten seconds, the gun in his hand had been disassembled into parts, which fell to the ground making a clanging sound.

Just then, Ji Nanxing barged in with his men, looking around the room and shouting, "Cheng Sangluo? Cheng Sangluo?"

Cheng Sangluo took off her helmet and replied, "I'm here."

Seeing that she seemed unharmed, Ji Nanxing breathed a sigh of relief, but immediately scolded her, "Didn't I tell you not to do anything reckless? Why did you have to alert them?!"

She strode closer and noticed something under her feet. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was scattered gun parts. She demanded sharply of everyone, "Where did these guns come from?"

Cheng Sangluo pursed her lips dismissively, and casually lifted the man's waistband to show off her gun holster. "It's his gun, I took it off."

"You guys, handcuff everyone and collect all the gun parts to take with you." After giving his orders, Ji Nanxing pulled Cheng Sangluo towards the door. "Come with me!"

When we got to the open space outside the house...

Ji Nanxing flung Cheng Sangluo's arm away, probably furious, and paced back and forth with his hands on his hips.

Fortunately, the police officer had strong emotional control and quickly suppressed his anger.

She lowered her voice and questioned, "What are you doing? You dared to act on your own when the other side had a gun. This kind of thing should be handled by the police. Do you know how dangerous it is?"

Cheng Sangluo picked at her ear, feigning impatience, "Now that you've finished your lecture, can you let me go?"

"No, you have to come back with me to give a statement." Ji Nanxing said matter-of-factly, then suddenly noticed a few drops of red liquid on the ground. She reached out and grabbed Cheng Sangluo's arm. "Are you injured?"

"I didn't... Ouch... Ouch..." Before Cheng Sangluo could finish speaking, she felt a sharp pain in her side.

She glanced down at her torn T-shirt, and when she lifted the hem, she discovered a deep tear on the side of her waist.

She tried hard to recall, and it must have been during a physical altercation with the lame man that she was inexplicably slashed. Perhaps her adrenaline surged at that moment, causing her not to feel any pain.

"Never mind, we'll take your statement another time. I'll take you to the hospital first."

"This little injury is nothing." Cheng Sangluo wanted to cover the wound, but felt that she shouldn't fight with her hands, so she could only try to slow her breathing to prevent the wound from bleeding more.

“Don’t be reckless. You’re not a special forces soldier anymore. Can’t you take some responsibility for your own life?” Ji Nanxing’s words made sense. He then called on the deputy captain to take over the work: “Su Qiao, you organize everyone to take these prisoners away. I’ll take her to the hospital to treat her wounds.”

Su Qiao waved from a distance, "Leave this to me, you guys go ahead."

Before long, Cheng Sangluo followed Ji Nanxing to the police car.

Ji Nanxing took a pack of cotton balls and iodine from the passenger side glove compartment, lifted her shirt to clean the wound briefly, and casually asked, "Haven't you visited Lin Jin yet?"

Upon hearing Lin Jin's name being mentioned, Cheng Sangluo responded somewhat awkwardly, "Um, how's her foot injury? Did she have surgery?"

"I heard from her that her ankle surgery was successful, but..."

"Just?" Cheng Sangluo pondered, her tone inexplicably becoming more urgent. "Just what? What happened to her?"

"Her mental state is very bad. I heard she can't eat and can only survive on intravenous nutrition..."

"Why is it so bad? How could a foot injury affect your mental state?" Cheng Sangluo raised her voice and hurriedly turned to leave the passenger side of the car. "Let's go, let's go, let's get to the hospital right away."

"Didn't you know? She transferred to a health and wellness center."

Cheng Sangluo had already fastened her seatbelt, stretched out half her head, and urged, "Then let's go to the health and wellness center. Don't just stand there, let's go!"

Ji Nanxing snorted coldly: "What's the use of being anxious now?"

Once she was in the driver's seat, she fastened her seatbelt and said sarcastically, "You're so worried, why haven't you gone to see her yet?"
