Chapter 158: Extra Chapter 4: Sweet Daily Life
After a hurried wash, Cheng Sangluo quickly slipped into the dressing room, not daring to waste a single second. She was constantly thinking about Lin Jin, as if her wife would disappear into thin air if she wasn't under her watchful eye.
She found this situation amusing; how could she have suddenly switched roles overnight, becoming the one filled with anxiety and uncertainty?
She grabbed a sweatshirt at random and deliberately walked to the door of the dressing room before haphazardly putting it on her head. Thinking of her wife through the fabric, she stretched her neck and pulled hard on the hem, making a mess of things in just a short moment.
Once all eyes were on Lin Jin, she quickly grabbed the doorframe to change her pants, constantly peeking out with her head tucked in, looking both sneaky and amusing.
He was completely captivated in just a glance or two; it's a classic case of the "true fragrance" law. He didn't know how good his wife was before, so now that he's smitten, he's even more delighted.
Cheng Sangluo secretly regretted her past ignorance. She wondered if she had been blinded by greed or something else, for she had overlooked Lin Jin's good looks.
She tilted her head, thinking, how should she describe her wife's beauty? So she tried hard to come up with a beautiful word, and then scratched her head and blamed herself for not reading enough books, which was why she was so speechless. She should find time to buy a dictionary and flip through it more.
She thought for a long time before finally finding a fitting and natural description.
Lin Jin's beauty goes beyond mere physical appearance. Her delicate features are only superficial; it is the temperament accumulated over the years and through life experiences that truly supports her. Every unintentional gesture exudes a unique charm.
The man stared intently, occasionally making strange clicking sounds, which caught the attention of a beautiful woman sitting at her dressing table, diligently applying her eyebrows.
Lin Jin put down her eyebrow pencil, followed the sound to the grinning puppy, turned to the side and stared at it with wide eyes, asking with a smile, "What are you doing? One minute you're clicking your tongue and the next you're sighing."
When Cheng Sangluo was asked this question, her expression instantly became embarrassed. She patted her clothes pockets and then her pants pockets, before awkwardly putting them behind her back and chuckling awkwardly twice.
She felt that the distance between them was too far, so instead of taking the proper route, she insisted on rolling around on the bed a couple of times so that she could get closer to her wife faster.
She thrashed around on the bed a few times, then jumped in front of Lin Jin and playfully explained, "I'm appreciating art!"
"Oh, your lips are so sweet, aren't you afraid of getting stung by bees?" Lin Jin teased, raising an eyebrow, before turning back to continue choosing a lipstick shade.
Cheng Sangluo suddenly bent down and brought her face close to hers, pouting her honey-smoked lips and begging for a kiss, "Please, little bee, sting me quickly~ Mwah~"
Lin Jin deliberately thwarted the sticky-toothed puppy's wish, reaching out to push its pouting lips aside, "Get out of my way, I don't want to touch up my makeup."
"I haven't even put on lipstick yet!" Cheng Sangluo's eyes widened, and she grumbled indignantly, but she still obediently sat back down on the edge of the bed, pouting and complaining, "You've only been married for less than a year and you're already complaining about me. What will you do in thirty or fifty years? Won't you think I'm old and faded? Anyway, you're rich and powerful. You can have affairs with other women, and there'll be nothing I can do about it. Sigh..."
Lin Jin was busy applying lipstick, so she didn't say anything. Hearing the ridiculous complaints, she just rolled her eyes in exasperation.
She thought to herself that Cheng Sangluo's thought process was strange and peculiar, and her unreasonable behavior was even more childish.
Not getting a response, Cheng Sangluo became even more agitated. She threw her head back on the bed, kicking her legs wildly, and started sobbing, "Does your silence mean you agree?! How does that song go again... 'What you can't have is always stirring, those who are favored are always fearless...' Hmph, now that you have me, you're fearless!"
'Snap—'
Lin Jin slammed the lipstick in her hand onto the table, then slowly stood up.
Cheng Sangluo thought she had gone too far, so she hurriedly struggled to sit up.
She obediently tucked her hands between her legs, hunched her shoulders, and shrugged at her expressionless wife, stammering, "I...I...I was just kidding, you...you...please don't..."
Lin Jin walked silently to Cheng Sangluo, raised her knee and pressed it against Cheng Sangluo's leg, then pushed her broad shoulder hard.
Cheng Sangluo lay back down on the bed, looking up at the beautiful woman who was looking down at her, and asked cautiously, "Are you angry?"
"You better behave yourself," Lin Jin warned in a shushing tone, but her voice was full of sweet and doting affection.
She then changed to a position where she was kneeling astride the puppy's legs, leaning over with her supple body, one hand supporting herself by her ear and the other pulling down on her collar.
At this moment, Cheng Sangluo's senses were incredibly rich. First, there was the intoxicating scent of cedar that wafted towards her; then came the breathtaking beauty that met her eyes; the warm and soft touch against her waist; and then... what sensations...
Cheng Sangluo's mind suddenly went blank because Lin Jin didn't give her any more time to think.
That indescribable feeling gathered on her lips, the lipstick bringing a thin, sticky sensation, making the kiss even more intense and reluctant to end.
Lin Jin's lips, soft and bouncy like pudding, are intertwined with pearly teeth and the nimble tongue.
Cheng Sangluo's next sensation was an itch that melted from the heart, like butter melting in the heat, its rich, crispy aroma intensifying the desire to taste it.
Lin Jin could always easily control her. For example, this kiss carried the momentum of burning desire, but it was restrained perfectly just a second before it was about to surge.
Cheng Sangluo watched helplessly as she turned her head away, her gentleness vanishing, and then, still wanting more, reached out to hook her arm around the back of her neck, pitifully saying, "How could you do this to me? Playing with fire and then trying to put it out?"
"Pop~" Lin Jin smiled and pressed a bright red lip print between her eyebrows, as if marking it as his own. "Alright, your little bee sting service is complete. Get up and hurry up and get ready to go out. I'm so hungry."
Cheng Sangluo pointed blankly to the lip print on her forehead, "Am I supposed to go out with this on?"
"If you're not shy, that's fine too~" Lin Jin looked at her adorable appearance and couldn't help but cup her chin with both hands and give her a kiss on the cheek. "You're so good, I'll give you another one."
Cheng Sangluo smiled and rubbed his face against his wife's chest, saying playfully, "Let's go shopping together after we eat."
Lin Jin's eyes widened as if she had seen something rare, exclaiming in amazement, "Huh? The sun has risen in the west! This stingy person who can't bear to spend money actually invited me to go shopping?"
"Is stingy the only adjective you can use to describe me?" Cheng Sangluo wrinkled his nose in disdain, quickly helping his wife sit up and defending himself: "Frugality is a virtue. Besides, you spend money lavishly because you earned it through your own hard work. I'm stingy because I haven't found a decent job yet. Once I start working and earning money, I'll give you all the money I earn, and I won't keep a single penny for myself!"
Lin Jin looked at her as she patted her chest and made a solemn promise, looking both cute and earnest. She simply pinched her cheek and pampered her, saying, "I don't want your measly little bit of money. You should just enjoy my kindness and be grateful."
As she spoke, she leaned in and hugged Cheng Sangluo, and they started cuddling and whispering sweet nothings. "I never used a single penny of the allowance I gave you before, but your family of bastards almost stole all the cash. I just don't understand, don't you have any material desires at all? Don't you want to buy anything delicious, fun, or beautiful?"
"Hiss—" Cheng Sangluo hissed, pondered for a moment, then suddenly winked at his wife, "Do you think there's a possibility... that..."
This man was dishonest; he deliberately only said half of what he meant, while his hand, which was resting on Yang Liu's slender waist, rubbed it intermittently and made random, suggestive strokes.
Lin Jin let her have her little prank, wrapped her arms around her neck a few times, and warned her in an annoyed tone: "Speak properly, don't keep people in suspense!"
"Hmm... it's just... is it possible that... all my emotions and desires are poured into you, so other things naturally lose their appeal, don't you think?"
"So you've poured all your emotions into me, and now it's all my fault?" Lin Jin persisted, hopping around on her uninjured foot, and pulled out a card from her wallet. "From now on, you're in charge of things at home. This is our little savings account. You can spend it or save it as you see fit."
After saying that, she tossed the card into Cheng Sangluo's arms, "I only have one request: don't treat me unfairly."
Cheng Sangluo thought that she was struggling to support herself, let alone provide Lin Jin with a good quality of life, so she did not refuse the offer this time, but still promised: "Okay, I will keep a record of all the expenses, and I will gradually make up for the living expenses after I start working."
Lin Jin leaned on the dressing table with one hand, quietly staring at the embarrassed little dog. Her heartache came suddenly, and she couldn't help but let out a sad sigh: "Can we not be so petty?"
Seeing his wife's smile fade, Cheng Sangluo quickly walked up to her and asked ingratiatingly, "Did I upset you again?"
Lin Jin rested his head on her shoulder and silently waved his hand, probably considering whether to reveal something, but also mindful of his lover's feelings.
She hesitated for a moment before whispering, "Actually, I saw everything. You secretly ate the leftovers while I was paying the bill. I hid outside the door, afraid to come in, both because I was worried you wouldn't have enough to eat and because I was afraid your pride would get the better of you."
Cheng Sangluo felt an embarrassment, as if she had been suddenly stripped naked. Her face flushed red instantly, and she moved her lips as if to explain. But in fact, she had just been released from prison and could only afford steamed buns to fill her stomach after searching through her pockets. In those hard times, it was difficult to even have a meal with meat. Moreover, Lin Jin had a small appetite. She would only taste a little of each dish when she ordered a table full of food. It would be a pity to waste it, so she just picked up the leftovers.
She felt embarrassed to bring up the old story of picking up leftovers, so she smiled sheepishly and tried to smooth things over: "You know what, the food at that restaurant was actually pretty good."
Lin Jin gently held Cheng Sangluo's hand, opening his palm to rub the calluses that time could not erase. "From now on, my Sangluo will no longer have to worry about three meals a day. You can pursue your unfinished dreams, enjoy the beauty of life, and pursue the freedom you love. Everything you have is something you have won yourself. It's not that I insist on supporting you. You just need to learn to accept it."
Cheng Sangluo felt a mix of emotions, torn between her pride and her inability to refuse her lover's kindness.
She still didn't understand why she was worthy of Lin Jin's kindness, so she touched herself and squeezed her wife's hand back, saying, "I still don't quite understand what you mean."
"I'll keep you in suspense for now. You'll receive the gift I've prepared in a few days." Lin Jin leaned in and kissed the puppy's lips, then naturally changed the subject: "Since you think that restaurant is good, let's go eat there today. This time, the poor puppy won't have to sneak around picking up leftovers anymore."
"Great!" Cheng Sangluo's eyes lit up at the mention of delicious food, but she quickly pouted and complained, "Ugh, you're so annoying! You're always keeping me in suspense. What did I win? What gift did you prepare? Can I eat it?!"
Lin Jin ignored them, turned around and put on her gray-brown coat, tidying her long curly hair and busying herself with reapplying her lipstick, ignoring the noisy people around her.
"What is it? Curiosity killed the cat!"
"Hey, don't just stay silent!"
"Ugh! If you keep me hanging like this, I won't be able to eat or sleep properly!"
"Give me even the slightest clue, and I can deduce it!"
"Wife, wife, wife, just say something!"
"Squeak." Lin Jin actually listened to her and squeaked.
And then, that was it.
Cheng Sangluo's eyes widened, and she jumped up and down in a panic: "Are you a little mouse? You just squeak and then you're gone?"
Lin Jin reached out and poked the puppy's forehead, mimicking her tone in a very convincing way: "Are you a little bird? Chirping and chattering nonstop."
