Chapter 168: Extra Chapter Fourteen: December 31st
The sweet midnight needs no neon lights to embellish it; it is naturally fermenting a crimson entanglement.
The house, with its mirrored walls on all four sides, had been lonely for too long, but tonight it finally welcomed its rare visitor.
Lin Jin's perverse sense of humor remained unchanged; she deliberately turned on the lights in the room to make sure that the infinitely extending scene around them could be fully seen.
The cracks left by their struggle and collision are still there, but at this moment they have taken on a different flavor.
Cheng Sangluo had long since abandoned reason, thinking that she was now a wolf in a frenzy, so she should act like a savage wolf.
She used a kiss to force Lin Jin in front of the mirror, but secretly left a trace of tenderness, perhaps not wanting her wife to endure the coldness of the mirror, so she placed her palm under her face.
Lin Jin turned her face to the side, her long, curly hair falling over her shoulders and partially obscuring her cheek, giving her beautiful figure a mysterious, elusive quality.
Cheng Sangluo's kiss behind her ear was fiery, causing her breath to scorch, casting an ambiguous mist on the mirror.
She couldn't bear to keep supporting her beloved like this, so she grabbed his arm and pulled him close, gently coaxing, "Does your foot hurt...? Why don't you lie down..."
'Buzz—'
A faint buzzing sound accompanied the passionate, lingering kiss, as if silently questioning the unruly wolf why it spoke in such a halting manner.
Lin Jin's still-healing foot was indeed trembling a bit, and only the handle connecting them knew the reason for its weakness.
She wanted to turn around and embrace her rough yet meticulous lover, but after taking just two steps, she was rendered immobile by a shiver that was building up in her lower abdomen.
Cheng Sangluo stood behind Lin Jin the whole time, his arms tightly wrapped around her, the natural curves of his muscles giving a sense of security. In particular, the contrast between his wife's slender broad shoulders and narrow waist, along with her darker tan skin, created a rough and alluring charm.
Every time Lin Jin looked up at the mirror, she would sigh at the stark contrast between her own figure and that of her dog, and a look of appreciation and amusement would appear in her eyes.
She laughed at her own frailty, and also at the disciplined wolf, who was as solid as a mountain, providing a sense of security when leaning against it, and requiring a lot of effort to hold on when embracing it. Thinking deeper, there was also a hint of crimson in the air.
"What are you laughing at?" Cheng Sangluo's kisses, sometimes light and sometimes heavy, were delicate and frequent. They fell on her lover's ears like a spring breeze, fell on the corners of his eyes like a deep, moist rain, and swept over his lips like a storm. He displayed his unrestrained and tenderness in this cycle.
Lin Jin tiptoed, passionately responding to the kiss while murmuring in a sweet voice, "I'm laughing at your great figure, especially your amazing waist~"
"My wife has such a great figure~" Cheng Sangluo lazily rested his chin on her shoulder, praising her without reservation: "She's as soft as a willow swaying in the wind. I don't dare to use too much force when I hold her, for fear of breaking the branch."
"As expected, lips that have tasted the pleasure of kissing have become so sweet~" Lin Jin pointed her delicate finger at her nose and then tugged at the dangling dog leash.
Cheng Sangluo was pulled so low that she bent her neck and submissively pressed her ear to her soft lips. "What's wrong?"
Lin Jin shushed him, asking, "Why don't you ask me what I think of your waist?"
The busy little bees were buzzing around in the river of love, so Cheng Sangluo seemed absent-minded during the conversation.
She was clumsy and couldn't find any decent words to describe how she felt.
This feeling is a mixture of bitter and sweet; it's bitter because the more she tries to concentrate, the easier it is to get distracted, but unexpectedly, it's sweet because it makes her crave more.
Cheng Sangluo steadied himself, kissed his wife's earlobe, and asked in a muffled voice, "I'm stupid, I can't figure it out, tell me."
Lin Jin rarely showed a shy demeanor; the words were stuck in her throat, and she felt too embarrassed to say them.
Seeing that she was turning her head away, trying to suppress her shyness, Cheng Sangluo deliberately straightened her back and took two big steps, pressing, "Speak!"
"Ah—" Lin Jin couldn't help but gasp in surprise, and slapped the broad shoulder with a hand full of anger and annoyance, "Don't move!"
"We can't play the 'Statues' game at a time like this." Cheng Sang was in a playful mood and wouldn't listen to anything his wife said.
She straightened her already ramrod-straight back even more, looking like a pine tree nailed to a cliff, unyielding to the wind, and deliberately tilted her head to look in the mirror.
Her expression, which had been one of appreciation, suddenly became exceptionally serious, as if she were listening intently to the night's chanting.
She heard her lover's breathing rise and fall, like a wordless confession being written; she heard the sounds of eternal love, which turned out to be the gentle murmur of a stream.
And that mesmerizing buzzing, finding its way into her ear canal, merrily knocking on the door of her cochlea.
These voices overlapped, each one a resounding "I love you."
Reason scattered like butterflies, leaving Cheng Sangluo empty-handed, but she still pressed on, "You...you still haven't told me...how is my back..."
Lin Jin's brows were furrowed deeply, and a thin layer of sweat appeared on her forehead. She seemed to be furious that the bastard had taken over the reins, so she raised her voice and replied, "It's deadly!"
"Huh?" Cheng Sangluo seemed to have won a battle, especially since the woman in front of her always managed to make her suffer. These two words were no different from begging for mercy.
She reached around to Lin Jin's face and gripped his chin tightly, forcing his bewitched eyes to look directly at this unusual scene. "How is it so deadly?"
Lin Jin always knew exactly when to strike when that bastard was feeling smug.
She nodded and kissed her lover's hand, then licked her fingertips and whispered, a blush rising on her delicate face from embarrassment. "When you're not here... I sometimes fantasize..."
"What are you fantasizing about?" Cheng Sangluo's eyes lit up with anticipation as he scooped up his wife and rolled her onto the soft bed.
She was overjoyed, so her hugs and kisses were both passionate and cautious.
The taut muscles of her breasts were just as Lin Jin had been hesitant to say.
A pestle for crushing garlic.
That's really exciting!
Buzzing.
Ding ding dang dang.
A blush crept up the corner of Lin Jin's eyes, and a pool of joyful moisture welled up in her eyes, ready to spill over.
Cheng Sangluo's eyes were filled with tender affection for the little daisy. She reached out and brushed away the strand of hair that clung to her lover's lips, whispering for praise, "Can you tell me?"
"I think... that female soldier named Cheng Sangluo must be really amazing..." She seemed to be both laughing and crying, biting her lip and stammering, "That back... when it arches... wouldn't it kill someone... but you weren't here... I've been waiting so long..."
Cheng Sangluo was both amused and exasperated. It was truly unimaginable how this beautiful woman, amidst the extravagance and debauchery, had endured those long, seemingly endless nights when she wasn't by Lin Jin's side.
"I would never want to take your life." She gently stroked her wife's tear-filled eyes, the instinctive plea losing its luster, love melting into a pure embrace and kiss. "I'm here, shamelessly clinging to you and refusing to leave. From now on, there will be no more long, dark nights..."

On December 31st, a year filled with difficulties and setbacks finally came to an end.
The sea breeze was biting, and the sun hanging in the sky shone brightly, yet it offered no warmth whatsoever.
Fortunately, the lovers learned to keep each other warm, making this a warm winter that belonged only to them.
Lin Jin sat in front of the dressing table as usual, applying makeup to draw her eyebrows and lips. The difference was that her makeup was a little heavier, which made her already pale and cold eyes look more sharp.
Today is a day to celebrate for her; it is the moment when the grand scheme of revenge, meticulously planned over many years, will pay off.
Cheng Sangluo was unaware of how special the day was; he only thought that it was the first time he and his wife would spend New Year's Eve together, so he had to make careful arrangements.
As usual, after finishing preparing a lovingly made breakfast in the kitchen, she jogged to the bedroom door, peeked out, and urged, "My dear wife, you're already stunningly beautiful. If you keep putting on this much makeup, you'll attract unwanted attention. What if a few rivals suddenly appear? How am I supposed to live then?"
Listening to the puppy's playful tone, Lin Jin smiled as she closed the lipstick cap, turning back to give it a tender, flirtatious look: "People need to be vigilant. That's called not taking pampering for granted. After all, those who are pampered are fearless~"
Cheng Sangluo raised her eyebrows and gestured with her hands in protest: "With such a beautiful and wealthy flower like you, it's inevitable that you'll attract bees and butterflies. How could I dare to be so carefree? I wish I could lock you up and only let me see you!"
Lin Jin was amused by her description and burst into laughter. "Oh my, you always act like you're fearless, how come you're afraid of your wife?"
“I’m not afraid of anything, but that doesn’t stop me from being afraid of you. Besides, being afraid of your wife is a good thing; it brings good fortune to our little family.” Cheng Sangluo said, shaking her head. “I order you to go eat breakfast right now. Even if the sky falls, you can’t go hungry. Hurry up.”
Lin Jin slowly stood up and asked the puppy as she walked over, "Do you know what day it is today?"
"Of course I know! I've already planned everything for the last day of the year. I'll book a nice restaurant, have a champagne and candlelight dinner, then find a good viewpoint to watch the fireworks together, and maybe even ring in the New Year." Cheng Sangluo's face beamed with satisfaction as she tugged at her loungewear. "Could you help me pick out a nice outfit later? It's a holiday, so I need to look my best to match your beauty!"
“I do need to dress you up nicely, but not for the holiday.” Lin Jin took her arm and kept her in suspense for a moment. “We have three important things to do before our date today, and you have to come with me for all of them. After we finish these three things, we will officially say goodbye to the past. December 31st is quite fitting for turning the page.”
"What do you want me to do with you? Why are you being so secretive?" Cheng Sangluo asked curiously, but seeing his wife smile and remain silent, he grumbled, "You're always like this, always like this. You never tell me when I ask, you're hiding a lot of little secrets."
"It won't be as surprising if I tell you now~" Lin Jinjiao said softly, snuggling into the puppy's arms. "Actually, the arrangements for today's date don't matter. What matters is that we can spend New Year's Eve together. This is our first year together~"
Cheng Sangluo pulled out a chair, put her arm around her lover's shoulder and sat down together. She was busy serving porridge and replying, "Every New Year's Eve in the future, I'll be the one counting down with you. Aren't you happy?"
Lin Jin raised an eyebrow: "Of course I'm happy. You're by my side at the beginning of the new year. Nothing could make me happier."
"Since you're so happy, why don't you have an extra bowl of porridge for breakfast today?" Cheng Sangluo blinked, concerned. "Look at you, you're as skinny as a chick. It's so uncomfortable to hold you to sleep at night, your bones are so uncomfortable!"
Lin Jin stirred the porridge with a spoon, giving the dog with the venomous tongue a disapproving look: "Can't you speak properly? If you can't, shut up."
