Chapter 7 The Missing Person

It was getting light outside.

Roth was still holding the head of the ghost-faced monkey in his hand, and his eyes were not very friendly when he looked at Su Ziyu. Just as the group was about to return along the original route, a rustling sound suddenly came from the lush jungle around them. The one-eyed man walking in the front of the group waved his hand to signal the others to stop, and said in a deep voice: "Something is wrong. Be careful!"

As soon as the words fell.

Two black shadows jumped out from the shadows, one black shadow pounced on the one-eyed man in the lead, and the other black shadow pounced on Roth who was holding the ghost-faced monkey's head.

There seemed to be a scream from the one-eyed man, and Roth's reaction speed was also quite fast. Facing the black shadow that suddenly rushed out, he immediately used a rotten donkey roll to avoid the attack, but this exposed Lina standing behind him to the enemy. All this happened very quickly, and Lina seemed to be a little slow to react. Su Ziyu, who was one step behind her, almost didn't think much and directly pulled her back to hide. Because of the excessive force, both of them fell to the ground. Then there was a mess of sounds, and from time to time there were screams from others, and a splash of blood splashed on Su Ziyu's arm.

"Thank you." Lina came to her senses and reached out to pull Su Ziyu up, then drew the weapon from her waist.

Two larger ghost-faced monkeys were charging through the crowd, their ferocious faces revealing a hint of madness, and their speed of attack was so amazing that two people were lying on the ground ten meters away from Su Ziyu, and it was almost unknown whether they were dead or alive. There was another person farther away whose entire face was scratched, and a broken eyeball was hanging outside the bloody eye socket, as if at that moment the one-eyed man suddenly used a person next to him as a human shield. The people present also reacted quickly, facing the crazy ghost-faced monkeys' swords and knives, and soon they were cut into pieces by the random swords.

The battle was over in less than three minutes.

Two ghost-faced monkeys were hacked to death, three people in the group died, and six or seven people were injured. Everyone's face looked a little ugly, and they looked frightened.

Su Ziyu was not injured because he fell behind the team, but he was frightened by the sudden battle.

There was a whimpering sound of wind coming from all around. The one-eyed man's face was livid, and he seemed to be a little frightened, as if he had heard some strange sound. He didn't even bother to clean up his companion's body, and directly asked the others to leave quickly. Su Ziyu followed the others all the way back. He didn't know if it was his illusion, but he felt as if there was a pair of eyes staring at them in the dark all the way. It was not until they returned to the village that the others breathed a sigh of relief. Lina took the ghost monkey's head to see Ken, and the injured people went to treat their wounds. Su Ziyu returned to his residence. Before leaving, he took a look at the one-eyed man. He always felt that his expression was a little strange after returning, and his face could be said to be quite ugly.

Dinner was brought over by Lina.

She seemed to be treating Su Ziyu better. Two fat sheep were slaughtered in the village tonight, and she sent over a roasted leg of lamb.

So delicious!

It has been almost half a month since Su Ziyu had a decent piece of meat.

In the first world, he was hungry for three days. He ate a scorpion before being caught by the snake people, but raw scorpions are really unpalatable. The snake people treated him like a slave and gave him food similar to pig food. It was not until he met Lina that he ate food that humans should eat, but it was not very greasy. Today's lamb leg can be said to be the most delicious lamb leg he has ever eaten in his life.

He kind of missed the Sichuan-style fat lamb hotpot.

As a modern man, he really can't adapt to this era. There is not even paper to wipe his butt, and he has to find leaves every time he goes to the toilet. He really doesn't know why the protagonists in those time-travelling movies and TV dramas he watched before were so happy.

The food was poor, the clothing was poor, and daily necessities were extremely scarce.

In the morning, you have to use a branch to brush your teeth, and there are natives next to you who look at you in surprise. All his living habits are incompatible with this era, but fortunately Ken seems to have determined that he is of noble birth, so he just thinks that Su Ziyu is a little more particular than others.

No words were spoken that night.

The village was eerily quiet. Lina took him to a place that was probably a blacksmith shop. There were already quite a few people inside, and there was a smell of blood. Ken stood at the door with an ugly face. Su Ziyu saw the one-eyed man from yesterday at a glance. He died by the wall in a weird posture, just like a special statue. The skin on his face had been peeled off, revealing dark red facial muscles. His only eye had been dug out, revealing a bloody empty eye socket. There was a cut on his forehead, and the eyeball from the evil god statue was perfectly embedded on it. The one-eyed man must have been dead for some time. His body had turned a little blue, and dark blue blood vessels were exposed under the skin. There were many bloody scratches on the surface of his body, but it looked like he scratched them himself.

"No one has ever been in there. He dug his own eyes out."

The atmosphere was a little scary. Lina even nervously grabbed Su Ziyu's clothes. Everyone else was silent, but their expressions all looked a little scared.

There aren't many things in the blacksmith shop.

But Su Ziyu saw some special torture instruments, some of which seemed to have been used on the one-eyed man. No one heard any unusual noises last night. It was impossible to imagine that a person would dig out his own eyeballs without making any screams, and how he nailed himself to the wall after digging out his eyes. Looking at the horrible corpse, the one-eyed man must have been in great pain before his death. There were signs of violent struggles in the room, but no one noticed it last night.

"Have you found his eyes?" Ken asked with a grim expression.

"No." The person next to him shook his head.

There was no sign that anyone else had entered the room, but the one-eyed man's own eye was missing.

The whole day, the people in the village were a little panicked. Ken hurriedly buried the body of the one-eyed man and ordered others not to leave the village for the time being and not to discuss this matter privately. The body of the one-eyed man was buried by Roth. He seemed to be Roth's uncle, and Lina seemed to be Roth's cousin. Everyone in the village had some kind of kinship.

The one-eyed man's death was so strange.

Everyone who entered the cave and saw the evil god statue that day was a little nervous, because the way the one-eyed man died made people think of the evil god statue. No one knew what they were talking about in private, because the natives hardly spoke to Su Ziyu because he was a foreigner.

Ken went out with a few people during the day and didn't come back until the evening.

Lina stayed beside Su Ziyu all day, her face was not very good, and she would be in a daze from time to time. To be honest, Su Ziyu was also a little scared, because the way the one-eyed man died inevitably made people think of supernatural events, which was a situation he could not handle at all.

Fortunately, although he had faced life and death more often during this period, he did not feel extremely panicked. At least his thinking was still clear.

Su Ziyu was also the first person to realize that Roth and the others were missing.

Under the night.

As if a great fear enveloped the whole village, Ken led people to search around the village for traces of Roth and others, but they had completely disappeared, and even the body of the one-eyed man was gone. There was only an empty grave in the cemetery, with some bloodstains scattered around. They seemed to have been here, but the people were gone.

Everyone felt uneasy that night.

Su Ziyu placed the black short blade beside the bed where he could easily reach it. He hardly slept the whole night and was in a state of half-sleep and half-wakefulness.
