Chapter 54 A Boring Day (2/2)

The girl came to buy dough and egg pancakes, which looked delicious.

After finishing the meal and sitting down to drink water, Wang Li asked, "Where do you live now?"

Xie Juan said, "I'm going to stay at my place, is that ok?"

"Stay here. Our family is full of former tenants that I took in, as well as a few kids I rescued on the road. If you don't find it boring, come and stay."

In this way, there was one more person in Wang Li's family.

Wang Li was a little hungry that night. Seeing that everyone in the family was asleep, she did not disturb them and went to the kitchen to find something to eat. Recently, the space was too full and she could not even lift her feet, so there was no space to eat.

So Wang Li ran to the kitchen and was about to cook when she suddenly felt someone behind her. She turned around and saw that it was Xie Juan. "You scared me, kid. Why didn't you say anything? I'm hungry too, so I want to see if there's anything to eat." She had just come back from the bathroom and saw the light in the kitchen, so she wanted to come and see. Unexpectedly, it was the young lady in the kitchen.

"What are you going to do, little girl? I'm hungry too."

"I'm going to make a bowl of soup pot noodles. Do you want to eat it?"

Xie Yujuan said: "Eat, eat, eat, definitely eat."

Wang Li started to cook noodles in one pot and fried two eggs in another pot. When the noodles were almost cooked, she added spinach. She put salt, MSG, sesame oil and chopped green onions in a bowl. She put the noodles into the bowl, added soup and the fried eggs. A bowl of delicious soup pot noodles was ready. The two of them had never had such a warm meal together. After eating, they went back to rest.

Half a month later, Xie Juan suddenly said that she was going abroad and would be away for a while. Wang Li felt it was very sudden and did not ask any questions. After all, she was doing underground work and did not want others to know about her affairs.

After Xie Juan left, Wang Li was the only one left at home. She started writing every day again and recently she became addicted to keeping a diary.

It was a boring day. When Wang's family left in the morning, they said that someone invited them to the dance hall in the evening, so they gave Wang Li an invitation. In the afternoon, no one was at home and Wang Li wanted to go to the dance hall.

I went out shopping in the afternoon. I saw women wearing cheongsams and high heels, holding fans in their hands. I also looked at people polishing shoes, sharpening knives, and selling cigarettes on the road.

This is Shanghai. The gap between the rich and the poor is huge. Wang Li's family is relatively better off because Wang's family worked for the Kuomintang, and no one dared to bully her shop, so business was pretty good.

As she was walking, Wang Li saw a bookstore and wanted to go in to read some books and see if this was a Communist stronghold.

I didn't expect it to be a stranger. I felt very disappointed, but I also felt fortunate that it was not a Red Party member. The Kuomintang is in power in Shanghai now. If there really was a Red Party member, I wouldn't know how to treat him.

When I stepped into the dance hall and saw that everyone was in pairs, I realized what a failure I was in this generation. Everyone at home was in pairs, and even in the dance hall, everyone was in pairs. It was so boring.

Today the ballroom was occupied by a gathering of military officers and their families, most of whom were wealthy people.

Recently, the Kuomintang has been arresting Red Party members frantically, and the streets are sometimes very chaotic. The dance hall and the outside world are really two different worlds.

Wang Li looked around, but couldn't see Wang's family. She didn't know where the boy had run off to.

Someone nearby was talking about Yipinxuan having antiques, but she didn't hear anything about it later. Wang Li thought she might as well go and have a look herself, isn't Yipinxuan an antique shop?
