Chapter 150 (Bonus Chapter)

Chapter 150 (Bonus Chapter)

150:

"Alright, you can go back now." Mu Shaowu rubbed her head. "It's getting late, you should go to sleep early too, there are still matches to come."

However, Mu Shaoting couldn't sleep at all. She thought that after she went back, she would think carefully about her future and whether she really wanted to be a singer for the rest of her life.

"Then you should go to bed early too," she said.

Mu Shaowu nodded, put his arm around her shoulder, and led her upstairs.

Ye Qingxi quickly raised her hand and waved to her, "Auntie, sleep well, goodnight."

"Okay, goodnight, Xiaoxi too."

However, when she took a step, she found that Ye Qingxi did not move.

Mu Shaoting asked in confusion, "Xiao Xi, aren't you going to sleep?"

"I'm sleeping with Grandpa tonight," Ye Qingxi said.

“He wanted to comfort his grandfather.” Mu Shaowu looked at his sister. “Our father has had a hard life. He has raised us all and it has been a lot of trouble for him. Now, in his old age, he finally has someone he can be happy with.”

Upon hearing this, Mu Shaoting smiled and said, "Then I'll have to trouble you, baby."

"It's okay," Ye Qingxi said. "I like Grandpa, and I don't feel tired."

"Good boy." Mu Shaoting pinched his cheek. "Your grandpa likes you too."

After saying that, she turned around and went upstairs with Mu Shaowu.

Mu Shaowu turned around and gave Ye Qingxi a cheering gesture.

Ye Qingxi gave him an "OK" sign, turned around, and walked towards Mu Feng's study.

Mu Feng was leaning back in his chair, thinking about Mu Shaoting's future.

He had originally planned to have Mu Shaoting intern at the group when she was a senior in college, but now, Mu Shaoting suddenly participated in a talent show, which completely disrupted his plans.

As he was thinking, he saw the door be pushed open and Ye Qingxi peeked in.

"Why did you come down here if you don't sleep with your dad?" Mu Feng asked, looking at the little guy in front of him.

Ye Qingxi smiled and ran to him. "Grandpa, I'm going to sleep with you."

"Why?"

"Because my aunt said she made you angry, Grandpa, but I don't want you to be angry, so I want to coax you." Ye Qingxi blinked. "Grandpa, how can I coax you? Can I tell you a bedtime story?"

Mu Feng was amused by him.

Him? He's not even as tall as his table, and you're trying to coax him?

I can't believe he said that.

"I'm not angry." Mu Feng smiled at him. "Where's your aunt? Is she upset?"

Ye Qingxi shook her head. "My dad asked her if Grandpa had scolded her, and my aunt said no, saying that Grandpa hoped she could have a better life in the future. So, my aunt isn't upset."

Upon hearing this, Mu Feng sighed.

His daughter is always like that, soft-hearted and gentle, which makes her more vulnerable to being hurt.

"Grandpa, why does Auntie think you're angry? Is it because she went to participate in a singing competition?" Ye Qing asked, pretending not to know anything.

"Um."

"Don't you like your aunt's singing?"

Upon hearing this, Mu Feng pulled him onto his lap.

He said, "If I were the same age as your aunt today, or if I lived to be five hundred, I would love it when she sings. I would sing whatever she wants. But I am already sixty, Xiaoxi. Grandpa is not young anymore, so Grandpa can't love her singing. If Grandpa loved her singing, she would have to sing for the rest of her life."

There are many things that, if he doesn't say them, then no one else will say them to Mu Shaoting.

Although Mu Zheng and Mu Shaowu are the older brothers, they dote on Mu Shaoting. They believe that as long as they have food to eat, they will not let their younger sister go hungry.

But why does Mu Shaoting insist on waiting for their meal? Why can't she serve herself?

Even the best of siblings will get married, have their own little families, and then have even more little families.

Just like now, Mu Zheng and Mu Shaoting are close, but Qin Cheng and Mu Shaoting are only so-so.

When Mu Zheng retires at the age of sixty and Qin Cheng takes Mu Zheng's place, Mu Shaoting can certainly go to her brother for help with a matter of course. But can Mu Shaoting's child go to Qin Cheng for help with a matter of course?

If they can't, how could Mu Shaoting, as their mother, not feel distressed for them? How could she enjoy her old age in peace?

Mu Feng didn't want her to one day look back and suddenly realize how big the gap was between her and her brother.

They are all his children, and they grew up together since they were little.

They rightfully deserve a similar future.

At the very least, Mu Feng wanted them to have a similar future.

Therefore, he had to remind her, to show her another path, to tell her the advantages and disadvantages of both paths, and to let her know which path would be more beneficial for her.

This is certainly annoying, but it is his responsibility as a father.

Ye Qingxi listened quietly, wanting to say, "Isn't singing good?"

But after thinking about it, he realized that singing wasn't really a good choice for someone like Mu Shaoting.

His parents thought being an actor and singer was a good thing because they had never had money before, and they made money by having him become an actor and singer.

But the Mu family was already wealthy enough, so that amount of money was nothing to them.

Not to mention, singers are also subject to criticism, excessive attention, and judgment.

Ye Qingxi sighed silently. If he were her grandfather, he probably wouldn't want his daughter to be a singer either.

However, his aunt really loves to sing.

This is really a headache.

"Do you know your aunt is participating in a competition?" Mu Feng asked him. "I remember you two have been going out together every weekend these past few days."

Ye Qingxi: !!

Ye Qingxi was shocked: You still remember this?!

Ye Qingxi smiled and nodded.

He said, "I found out by accident, so I went with my aunt because I was afraid she was in danger."

Mu Feng: ?

"You? You were worried about your aunt's safety? So you went with her?"

He said, "What use would it be for him to go with such a tiny little kid like his grandson?"

It would only be more dangerous for him to go, okay?!

Ye Qingxi replied obediently, "Mmm."

“My aunt doesn’t dare let you know, but I do. So I’m thinking that if there’s any danger, I’ll call you, Grandpa.”

He shook his wrist, which was wearing a smartwatch. "Am I smart?"

Mu Feng smiled.

He thought his grandson was indeed quite clever.

Given Mu Shaoting's personality, he might actually encounter danger but wouldn't dare tell him, unlike his clever and daring grandson.

"Did your aunt encounter any danger?"

"No," Ye Qingxi said, "that's why I haven't told Grandpa yet."

Mu Feng looked at his fair and adorable little face and said, "You're quite tight-lipped."

"I'm keeping my promise," Ye Qingxi said.

Mu Feng poked his forehead. "Aren't you tired? You're always accompanying your uncle to class and your aunt to competitions. I think you're almost busier than me."

Ye Qingxi sighed deliberately, "There's nothing I can do. They're my aunt and uncle, after all. Aunts and uncles are always a burden!"

Mu Feng couldn't help but smile again, "Who did you learn this from?"

"Of course, it's with you, Grandpa!" Ye Qingxi mimicked him. "Sigh, children are always a burden!"

Mu Feng chuckled softly and gently pinched his cheek. "You're so clever and mischievous."

Ye Qingxi smiled too.

It seems his grandfather isn't angry anymore.

So, he succeeded in coaxing people, right?

Ye Qingxi nestled into Mu Feng's arms and happily hugged him.
