Chapter 268, Part 2

Chapter 268, Part 2

268:

As they were talking, the knocking on the door started again.

Ye Qingxi opened the door, and this time it was indeed Zeng Chong.

"What's wrong?" Zeng Chong asked him. "Why did you suddenly get a fever?"

Ye Qingxi didn't know either.

But that's not the point. The point is: "Uncle Zeng, did you get your medicine?"

"I took it."

Zeng Chong showed him the ibuprofen in his hand and followed him to Mu Shaowu's bedside.

Then, he saw Feng Que standing by the bed.

"Director Feng, you're here too?" Zeng Chong asked in surprise.

The wind that Mu Shaowu was sick actually blew this great director here.

Seeing the confusion in his eyes, Feng Que explained, "Xiao Xi called me, so I came over to check."

Zeng Chong nodded and placed the medicine in his hand on the bedside table.

"How are you feeling?" Zeng Chong asked with concern.

"It's alright." Mu Shaowu looked at him.

"So, today's play...?"

Mu Shaowu raised his chin and looked at Feng Que, "Director Feng told me to rest."

Upon hearing this, Zeng Chong quickly expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Director Feng."

Mu Shaowu: ? ? ?

No, you want me to rest too?!

Well, in this room, he's the only one who doesn't want him to rest.

Helpless, Mu Shaowu slightly raised himself up, leaned back on the bed, and reached for the medicine on the bedside table.

Feng Que reacted quickly and grabbed his hand.

Mu Shaowu: ? ? ?

“Ibuprofen shouldn’t be taken on an empty stomach. Eat some breakfast first, then take your medicine,” Feng Que said.

Mu Shaowu: "Okay."

After he finished speaking, he noticed that Feng Que still hadn't withdrawn his hand, and glanced at his hand in confusion.

Feng Que then realized that his hand was still pressing on Mu Shaowu's hand, and hurriedly withdrew his hand.

"Then... shall I order breakfast for you?" Feng Que pondered.

"Okay." Mu Shaowu had no objections.

"What would you like to eat?" Feng Que asked, then looked at Ye Qingxi, "What about you, Xiao Xi?"

"I'm fine with anything, I'll go see my dad."

Mu Shaowu thought that since he was already like this, he might as well have some porridge.

"I'd like a seafood congee."

"Okay, Xiaoxi, do you want seafood porridge too?"

"I want pumpkin porridge, and two small steamed buns."

"OK."

Feng Que ordered breakfast from the hotel and had it delivered.

Ye Qingxi also went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face, and then changed her clothes.

After finishing breakfast and taking his medicine, Mu Shaowu prepared to go to sleep.

"You stay and take care of him," Feng Que said to Zeng Chong. "If anything happens, it will be more convenient for him to have someone here."

Mu Shaowu: ? ? ? What could he possibly have to do?

But Ye Qingxi and Zeng Chong clearly agreed with this view.

"Then I'll have to trouble you, Uncle Zeng."

“It’s not hard work, it’s what I should do,” Zeng Chong said.

Mu Shaowu: "...If you stay to take care of me, what about Xiaoxi?"

"I can manage on my own."

"I'll take care of Xiaoxi for you."

"Little Zhao is here!"

—The three spoke in unison.

Upon hearing this, Mu Shaowu turned to look at Feng Que, "Will you take care of Xiao Xi for me?"

Feng Que nodded, "Don't worry, I will definitely not let anything happen to Xiao Xi."

Zeng Chong chimed in, "Besides, Xiao Zhao is here too. With Xiao Zhao around, it's pretty much the same as usual."

"Don't worry, Dad, I'll be fine," Ye Qingxi assured him.

"Alright then," Mu Shaowu reluctantly agreed after listening to the three of them talking back and forth.

"Then you'd better take good care of her for me!" He turned his gaze back to Feng Que. "If Xiao Xi gets hurt or injured, I'll hold you responsible."

Feng Que: Even without you, my grandfather wouldn't let me off the hook.

"Okay," Feng Que replied. "Then you should rest well and try to recover your health as soon as possible."

Mu Shaowu pulled back the covers and lay down. "I know."

Seeing this, Ye Qingxi poured him another glass of water and placed it on the bedside table. "Then, Dad, I'm leaving."

Mu Shaowu looked at him, feeling quite reluctant to part with him.

He raised his hand and patted Ye Qingxi's head. "If there's anything, talk to your Uncle Feng or Uncle Zhao. If you don't want to talk to either of them, just wait until you get back and talk to me."

"Um."

Don't overwork yourself.

No, it won't.

"Don't let yourself get cold."

"I know."

Mu Shaowu pinched his little face; what a good boy.

"Go."

"Dad, remember to drink water."

"Okay." Mu Shaowu smiled at him. "Remember to drink plenty of water too."

"Okay." Ye Qingxi nodded. "I'll bring the thermos."

After he finished speaking, he hugged Mu Shaowu, just like Mu Shaowu had hugged him when he left before.

Mu Shaowu felt his proactive embrace. To be honest, being sick wasn't all bad; the benefits were just beginning.

In the past, Ye Qingxi would never have taken the initiative to kiss and hug him within an hour; it was always him kissing and hugging her.

Unlike now, his son is so proactive!

"So cute," Mu Shaowu couldn't help but exclaim again.

Ye Qingxi hugged him for a long time before finally letting go.

He smiled and said goodbye to Mu Shaowu, then turned and left the bedroom of the hotel suite.

Ye Qingxi took her small backpack from the living room, put it on, and went out with Feng Que.

Feng Que held his hand until they reached the elevator, at which point Ye Qingxi's smile gradually faded.

"Are you still worried about your father?" Feng Que said gently.

Ye Qingxi shook her head.

Fever is a very common illness and is not serious. Her father did not seem to be in much discomfort, so Ye Qingxi was not worried.

He just wanted to stay by Mu Shaowu's side, sleep with him, or be in the same room with him.

When he was sick, Mu Shaowu would stay with him, feed him medicine, and stay by his bedside.

So now that Mu Shaowu is sick, Ye Qingxi wants to stay with him.

I wanted to get him water and medicine, to let him know that I would always be there for him.

"I just want to spend time with my dad," he said softly.

Upon hearing this, Feng Que pondered and said, "Then... why don't you take half a day off too?"

Ye Qingxi: ? ? ?

Ye Qingxi looked at him in surprise, "Uncle Feng, you're not working anymore?!"

"Isn't that because you feel sorry for your father?" Feng Que thought to himself.

At this moment, Feng Que realized that he did seem to be quite easily swayed by Mu Shaowu and Ye Qingxi.

He couldn't quite explain why, but it was probably because the relationship between them really resembled the one he had written in his script, which always touched him and made him unconsciously think about them.

"I was just saying, I'm not really going to go and keep my dad company," Ye Qingxi said.

"Besides, my dad definitely wouldn't let me go with him." Ye Qingxi felt that he understood Mu Shaowu quite well.

Being sick is not a good thing. Although fever is not contagious, you are still in the same room as a sick person. He is a child now, and his father will definitely feel that it is not good for his health.

That's just how his dad is; when he's sick, his dad will definitely stay with him.

But his father was sick and didn't want him to stay with him.

Even if Feng Que had granted him half a day off, his father would definitely not allow the two of them to be alone in the same room.

So you should just stick to filming.

"I'll come back to be with my dad when I have lunch," Ye Qingxi said.

“Okay,” Feng Que agreed. “I’ll go with you then.”

"No need," Ye Qingxi said, not wanting to disrupt his plans. "I'll have Uncle Zhao take me back."

“It’s alright,” Feng Que said. “I also wanted to see if your father’s condition had improved. Besides, I promised your father that I would take care of you for him today.”

"Okay." Ye Qingxi smiled at him. "Then I'll have to trouble you today."

Feng Que patted his head. "You're so well-behaved, you're not troublesome at all."

That's the truth; Ye Qingxi is indeed a rare well-behaved child among her peers.

He had almost none of the bad habits of children his age; he never cried, fussed, or made a fuss.

She eats very well and finishes her meal by herself, and she also drinks water obediently.

He is incredibly professional and dedicated when filming; Feng Que has never seen a more well-behaved child.

In particular, he has a very good temper and is always gentle and polite to everyone he is with.

Feng Que led Ye Qingxi out of the hotel, got into his car, and drove towards the film set.

Mu Shaowu took leave, so the filming schedule was temporarily adjusted, bringing forward Ye Qingxi's solo scene and his scenes with other actors.

After finishing her makeup, Ye Qingxi went to the photography area to prepare for the shoot.

With the lights and cameras in place, Feng Que looked at the monitor and shouted, "Action!"

Ye Qingxi immediately tilted his head and gently lifted his eyelids; instantly, his whole face lit up.

Feng Que was quite amazed.

At this moment, Ye Qingxi, on the monitor, was lying on the table, puffing out one cheek, thinking mischievously about what she wanted to do.

His expression was very cheerful, and his eyes were full of brilliance and joy.

You couldn't tell at all that he had just been feeling sad about not being able to be with his father.

He's a true natural actor; he was born to be this kind of actor.

Ye Qingxi filmed several solo scenes, all of which were very well done.

So much so that before the assistant director could even react, the morning's filming was almost finished.

"Wow, as expected of our Xiaoxi, she's really amazing!" the assistant director praised again.

Feng Que felt the same way. He once again affirmed from the bottom of his heart that meeting Ye Qingxi was definitely the greatest blessing for this movie and for him.

Unfortunately, the role of Qiao Tian might be a bit challenging for other children, but it's too easy for Ye Qingxi, failing to showcase his true and complete abilities.

Feng Que wants to put on another show for Ye Qingxi.

Make a film specifically to explore his acting skills.

Such a talented actor, and still so young, if his brilliance at this age isn't captured in film, then no one will ever see how amazing he was as a child again!

But this matter is clearly not up to him to decide.

The person who actually made the decisions is currently lying in a hospital bed.

After Feng Que called out "Pass," he stood up and walked to Ye Qingxi's side with Xiao Zhao.

"You acted very well," he said to Ye Qingxi.

Ye Qingxi smiled and asked, "Is there another scene that was filmed this morning?"

Feng Que nodded.

He picked up the script and discussed the key points of the next scene with Ye Qingxi.

Ye Qingxi listened attentively, occasionally sharing her own thoughts with him.

Feng Que spent the entire morning with Ye Qingxi.

He was filming, and he would sit behind the monitor.

He was resting, so he sat next to him.

He even accompanied Ye Qingxi to the restroom.

Ye Qingxi said to him, "I met your grandfather under the car. He asked me what I was doing here and where my father was. I said I came to use the toilet. He was very surprised and asked if he could use my toilet."

Feng Que, of course, already knew about their encounter.

Even now, he thinks his grandfather's excuse is really quite simplistic.

No matter what the excuse is, if it works, it's a good excuse.

"So that's how you two met?"

"Mm." Ye Qingxi nodded.

"My great-grandfather just asked me what I wanted to eat today."

What would you like to eat?

"I said I wanted something light," Ye Qingxi said.

His father is sick, and he thinks his father might want to eat something light.

Feng Que guessed his intention at a glance.

Isn't that a coincidence?

He had just called home and asked the cook to prepare something light and send it over.

That's good, it's a bit bland, I wonder if it's too bland for Mu Shaowu.

"Uncle Feng, I want to go back." Ye Qingxi didn't get out of the car, but sat in the seat of Mu Shaowu's nanny van, which he often rode in.

He said, "I've finished filming all my scenes this morning, so I can go back now, and I want to go back."

"I miss my dad."

Perhaps Mu Shaowu didn't really want him to stay in the room where the virus that made him sick was present.

Perhaps if we go back now, Mu Shaowu will still be asleep and won't wake up.

perhaps……

There is no "maybe".

Ye Qingxi thought.

He wanted to stay by Mu Shaowu's side.

He still wanted to stay by Mu Shaowu's side.
