Chapter 16 The Third Red Line

Li Hongru was a little nervous, his voice was a little tense when he spoke, and his speech speed was relatively slow.

But in Zhang Weifang's opinion, this man was a real "young master from a wealthy family" type. Even his voice was so slow and soft that people would unconsciously relax after listening to him.

"I just don't know how a peasant family raised a child like this. Maybe he developed this kind of child while working outside?" Zhang Weifang thought secretly in his heart.

However, Zhang Weifang also knew that this kind of man was from a completely different world from herself.

Others are the flowers in the greenhouse, bright and delicate, lacking wind and sun. She is the weeds on the roadside, growing wildly without fear of wind and rain.

After realizing this, Zhang Weifang immediately relaxed. Since the two of them were not suitable for each other anyway, there was no need for her to hide her personality in front of others.

"Comrade Li Hongru, hello. My name is Zhang Weifang. I'm 18 years old and just graduated from high school. I'm currently unemployed."

Seeing Zhang Weifang introducing himself confidently, Li Hongru calmed down.

In addition to the simplest self-introduction, if I want to continue, I still need to understand something deeper. Li Hongru asked again:

"What do you usually do at home? What are your hobbies?"

Zhang Weifang said without any pressure:

"Life at home is so wonderful. All I do every day is eat and sleep. I'm content as long as I have enough to eat and drink. Why would I need a hobby?"

"Uh," Li Hongru swallowed the words on his lips. He didn't expect the female comrade to be so direct, but he also envied her life of being able to eat and sleep. It seemed that she was very favored at home.

"So, what are your requirements for your future significant other?"

Zhang Weifang blurted out: "Of course there are requirements. He must be handsome, have a job, have a simple family, and have a good temper. Most importantly, he must be diligent and be able to do housework. After all, I am not good at these."

Zhang Weifang's nature had been suppressed since she traveled through time. This time, when she met a handsome guy who was pleasing to the eye and whom she could only rely on, she let it out a bit. After all, no one would know each other in the future, and there would be no embarrassment.

Li Hongru laughed immediately after hearing this. His eyes are not big, but the tails of his eyes are long and slightly upturned. His small eyes focus light, and his smile is even more charming.

Zhang Weifang quietly admired the handsome guy opposite her, with a gleam in her eyes. Beautiful things really make people happy both physically and mentally.

Li Hongru found it even more interesting to see the female comrades staring at him with interest, so he asked again:

"Have your requirements always been this high?"

"Hey, this is just a dream, it may not come true. I've dated two people before, but neither of them was suitable."

"Then do you want to lower your requirements?" Li Hongru asked jokingly.

Zhang Weifang glanced at him and said lazily:

"But I don't want to put myself in a difficult position either. What about you? What are your requirements for your future partner?"

Li Hongru thought for a moment before saying, "Actually, I don't have any specific requirements. It just feels right."

He has always valued feelings the most, otherwise he would have married someone casually.

"Your conditions are even more difficult. I heard that you've dated someone before. Is it because of the comparison that you're more picky?" Zhang Weifang was completely disappointed at this point, so she started to gossip. After all, free love is rare in this era.

When mentioning his ex-girlfriend, Li Hongru's face suddenly turned ugly. Zhang Weifang also felt that he was too presumptuous and should not inquire about other people's privacy.

She felt annoyed, thinking that she must have lost her mind and said nonsense, so she quickly apologized to the other party:

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked."

"It's okay, let's go eat first!"

After they got down the stairs, Zhang Weifang stopped talking. The two of them returned to the state-owned restaurant in silence. Their parents were already waiting at the door.

Several people entered the restaurant together. This time, Li Hongru ordered the dishes and he also politely asked Zhang Weifang what she wanted to eat.

Zhang Weifang had just offended someone, so she didn't feel comfortable making any demands. She just said it didn't matter.

We ordered four dishes: one deep-fried pork, one stir-fried meat, a plate of green pepper and egg, a cold dish, and a bowl of noodles for each person.

The taste of the food made Zhang Weifang forget the unpleasantness just now. It was the first time she had eaten meat since she came here.

The soft, glutinous, salty and fragrant pork filled her entire mouth. It was so delicious that she almost cried. She took another bite of ramen. It was so delicious, so chewy and strong.

The total cost of these meals was less than 3 yuan, plus two meat coupons and 4 grain coupons. Zhang Weifang thought it was too expensive, mainly because she had never seen the receipts.

After dinner, everyone went their separate ways. On the way, Zhang Jiuyi started asking Zhang Weifang about her blind date:

"Weifang, what do you think? This guy is good, right? Is he a good match for you?"

"Well, uncle, thank you, you are a very nice person."

Zhang Jiuyi patted Zhang Weifang on the head and said:

"What are you thanking me for? My brother and sister-in-law will be relieved if you can marry into a good family."

"Uncle, I understand."

There was no mule cart on the way back. It was a hot day and the two of them walked back facing the sun. Zhang Weifang almost fainted. She didn't want to go out again. It was too painful.

As soon as they got home, Zhang Jiuyun and Zhang Qiaona asked:

"Weifang, how is the young man?"

Zhang Weifang sat down on a rock, drank a sip of water, and then said:

"It's fine, but people may not like me. Mom, I'm dying of heat. I'm going to wash my face first."

Zhang Weishuang had already poured the water and brought it over:

"Sister, wash your face first."

Zhang Weifang washed her face and feet, asked Zhang Weishuang to wipe her back, and then went to bed to rest.

The blind date was over in her mind. The other party didn't like her anyway, and she just wanted to sleep.

Zhang Jiuyun and his wife caught up with Zhang Jiuyi and questioned him for a long time. Zhang Jiuyi kept praising the young man and said that the two of them should be able to succeed.

After waking up, Zhang Weifang rolled around comfortably on the kang until the Yue Lao system beeped, and then she remembered that she still had a task.

"Uh, Qiqi, don't rush me. I'm doing my mission seriously."

"I know, host, today's Li Hongru is your third red line."

"What? How is that possible? Did you see it wrong?" Zhang Weifang sat up from the kang.

"The system won't make mistakes." Qiqi's affirmative answer shattered her fantasy.

"What should I do? Did I offend someone today? And he and I are totally incompatible?" Zhang Weifang kicked the quilt in annoyance.

"Host, I don't understand matters of the heart, but he is indeed your third red line. It's a pity that neither the compatibility nor the happiness is apparent."

"I'm so unlucky. There's not a single suitable red string among the three? Can I find another red string?"

"Host, I'm sorry, but everyone has three fixed red lines. If you don't get a result from choosing one of the three, you will be single for the rest of your life."
