Chapter 163 Hospitalized Again

Hearing Zhang Weifang mention Zhang Jiuyi, Zhang Qiaona couldn't help but feel sad:

"Weifang, your uncle, he...he...is gone..."

"What? Mom, are you joking?" Zhang Weifang didn't believe what she heard at all.

Zhang Qiaona's tears immediately burst out, and she choked up and said again:

"Weifang, Mom is not joking. Your uncle is really gone."

"How is this possible! My uncle is only 36 years old, how could this happen?" Zhang Weifang widened his eyes, his face full of disbelief, and tears flowed from his eyes like a flood.

She could not accept the cruel reality before her, and her heart was filled with endless grief and sorrow, as if the whole world had collapsed at this moment. She felt that her soul was also dispersing and falling into a bottomless abyss.

"Weifang, what's wrong with you? Don't scare Mom, someone come quickly, Lu Shi, Lu Shi..."

Seeing Zhang Weifang faint, Zhang Qiao Na was so scared that she shouted Lu Shi's name loudly.

Lu Shi and Zhang Weiren were talking in the next room. When they heard Zhang Qiao Na's cry, they knew something had happened. They rushed over and saw Zhang Weifang who was unconscious.

"Mom, you stay home and look after An An. The milk powder is on the cabinet in the next room. Wei Ren and I will take Wei Fang to the hospital."

The second time he experienced this situation, Lu Shi was much calmer than last time. He first pushed the cart out, put a mattress on it, and then carried Zhang Weifang on it.

Lu Shi pulled the cart in front, and Zhang Weiren helped push the cart from behind, and the two hurried to the hospital.

As soon as they arrived at the hospital gate, Lu Shi carried Zhang Weifang and ran into the hospital. He gasped for breath and shouted at the top of his lungs: "Help...! Come and save her!" His voice was so loud that it echoed throughout the entire hospital lobby.

After hearing the shouts, the doctors and nurses in the hospital sprang into action. They quickly rushed over from all corners, some pushing stretchers and some carrying first aid equipment.

Lu Shi hugged Zhang Weifang tightly, his eyes full of anxiety and worry. His heart beat rapidly, as if it was about to jump out of his throat.

Zhang Weifang's face was as pale as paper, without any blood, his eyes were closed, and he seemed to have lost consciousness.

Doctors immediately examined Zhang Weifang and placed her on a stretcher and sent her to the emergency room.

Along the way, Lu Shi followed closely behind, praying constantly that she would be safe. The nurses comforted Lu Shi, telling him not to worry too much, and that the hospital would do its best to treat the patient.

After entering the emergency room, the doctors launched a life-and-death rescue race against time.

They skillfully operate various instruments, monitor vital signs, administer infusions, and provide oxygen... Every movement appears so professional and orderly.

Lu Shi stood quietly at the door of the emergency room waiting, and Zhang Weiren stood with him, both of them with worried looks on their faces.

Time passed minute by minute, and finally, after a long wait, the doctor walked out of the emergency room and informed Lu Shi of the patient's condition.

"The patient's condition is currently stable, but further observation and treatment are needed," said the doctor.

Upon hearing the news, Lu Shi and Zhang Weiren both breathed a sigh of relief, and the stone in their hearts finally fell to the ground.

"But," the doctor said, turning away, very seriously:

"The patient just gave birth and is still very weak. We must not allow her to be stimulated again in the future, otherwise it will easily cause her to develop a chronic illness."

The doctor paused and continued:

"Also, the patient has some heart problems. Try not to make her angry or too excited in the future."

Zhang Weiren was shocked when he heard the doctor say that Zhang Weifang had heart problems:

"What? Why is there something wrong with my eldest sister's heart? She was fine before."

Seeing Zhang Weiren's excitement, the doctor quickly persuaded him:

"Don't get excited. The patient's heart isn't seriously damaged. It's just a slightly faster beat. As long as you don't get angry, he's no different from a normal person."

Zhang Weifang was quickly and carefully pushed back to the ward by the medical staff. This time, the ward she stayed in seemed particularly quiet and deserted. It was empty, and she was the only one lying alone on the bed.

Time passed minute by minute. After about ten minutes, Zhang Weifang slowly opened his eyes and woke up from his coma.

Her eyes were a little confused, as if she was not fully awake yet. She tried hard to recall what had happened before, but the memory in her mind was very vague.

"Sister, you're awake. Are you okay?" Zhang Weiren called softly.

"Oh, um..." Zhang Weifang's hazy eyes suddenly opened, and she remembered what happened before.

"Weiren, what happened to my uncle?"

Zhang Weiren thought to himself that something was wrong. He didn't expect his elder sister to know about his uncle so soon.

He was afraid that Zhang Weifang would be further stimulated, so he quickly said:

"Sister, don't get excited. He's still in the hospital. Let's talk about my uncle when we get home."

Lu Shi, who was on his way to handle the formalities, hurried back to the ward.

When he saw Zhang Weifang who had woken up, a complex emotion suddenly surged in his heart - anxiety, worry, and deep fear.

He widened his eyes and stared at the figure on the hospital bed, fearing that what he saw was just an illusion.

Zhang Weifang looked up at Lu Shi and asked softly:

"Where's An An?"

Lu Shi's voice was as gentle as it could be, for fear of irritating Zhang Weifang:

"An An is at home, Mom is watching over me, don't worry."

In the evening, Zhang Weiren returned home, leaving Lu Shi alone in the hospital to take care of the patient.

Lu Shi lay on the folding chair in the ward, holding Zhang Weifang's hand, feeling the long-lost world of two people.

Both of them were very calm, especially Zhang Weifang, who had completely calmed down after experiencing great grief.

She lay on the hospital bed, emptying her mind and relaxing her whole body and mind.

In the darkness, Lu Shi asked softly:

"Weifang, what are you thinking about?"

"Nothing."

"Can you please stop scaring me?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I've worked so hard for you during this period. I didn't know my health was so bad."

Zhang Weifang felt deeply guilty. In the past month, Lu Shi not only had to shoulder the responsibilities of a father, but also had to take on the role of a mother, working hard day and night.

Looking at Lu Shi's increasingly thin face and exhausted figure, Zhang Weifang felt distressed but could do nothing.

She knew very well that she owed too much to her family, and Lu Shi had been silently giving without any complaints. This deep affection made Zhang Weifang feel guilty and uneasy.
