Chapter 184 Getting into Trouble

There are more than a hundred children in Hualun Kindergarten, which was newly built a few years ago. The environment inside is very good. There are many children's paintings on the white walls, and there is a lively atmosphere everywhere. There are also slides, wooden boats and other facilities.

There are six teachers in the kindergarten, with every two teachers responsible for different classes. The wooden beds for the children to take naps are also brand new and have guardrails at the head of the beds.

Zhang Weifang went to see the kindergarten cafeteria again. The food there was very clean, similar to that at home, with eggs and vegetables. The staple food was pasta, including steamed buns and noodles.

Overall, Zhang Weifang is satisfied with this kindergarten. She asked about the tuition fees, and the teacher told her that the tuition fees for boarding students is ten yuan per semester, and the tuition fees for children of factory employees is less than five yuan per semester, which is double the tuition fees.

Ten yuan is not a lot, and Zhang Weifang can still afford it. However, she was afraid that An An would make trouble again after coming to this school, so she informed the teachers in advance and asked them to discipline her strictly.

Over the years, the teachers have seen all kinds of children, so they just smiled and reassured Zhang Weifang.

After returning home, Zhang Weifang told Lu Shi about everything. Lu Shi thought about it and agreed. After all, An An couldn't stay at home all the time.

The next day, the two of them sent An An to a new kindergarten. An An was not shy and when he saw other children, he ran over to play with them without any reluctance to leave.

Before leaving, Zhang Weifang repeatedly told An An to be obedient. An An agreed without even thinking about it. As for whether he would listen or not, that was hard to say.

After An An went to school, the relationship between Zhang Weifang and Lu Shi eased. However, it was just a few more words, and there was still a gap in the hearts of the two.

Lu Shi always believed that there was something wrong with Zhang Weifang's educational methods. Although An An was a little naughty, she shouldn't be so violent.

Zhang Weifang doesn’t think there is anything wrong with her. If she doesn’t take care of her child since childhood, how can she still control him when he grows up?

An An was doing quite well. He didn't get into any trouble during the whole week. The teacher also said that An An was just very energetic, which made Zhang Weifang worry less.

Everything was going in the right direction, but what happened next was beyond Zhang Weifang's expectations.

After work that day, Zhang Weifang returned home as usual. As soon as she entered the house, she heard An An's heart-wrenching cry. Zhang Weifang was shocked and ran into the room in a hurry.

An An was standing in the corner. Lu Shi's face was ashen, and he was hitting An An's palm with a wooden board.

An An's palms were already swollen, but Lu Shi didn't stop. He kept asking:

"Do you dare?"

An An was crying and admitting her mistake, so pitiful.

Zhang Weifang watched this scene quietly. She did not stop it and did not say anything.

When Lu Shi saw Zhang Weifang, he immediately lost his temper. He threw the wooden board heavily to the ground and said in frustration:

"Weifang, An An is in trouble again."

"Yeah." Zhang Weifang responded lazily.

Seeing Zhang Weifang's attitude, Lu Shi immediately became anxious:

"Don't you want to know the details?"

"Don't ask. An An's education will be yours from now on. I don't want to do something thankless."

Zhang Weifang went out after she finished speaking, without paying any further attention to Lu Shi or An An.

Lu Shi felt very frustrated and his heart was even worse. He had been reluctant to let Zhang Weifang take action before because he felt that children could be taught well without violence. It was not until today when he had used violence uncontrollably that he realized that An An was really difficult to discipline.

Lu Shi knew that Zhang Weifang was still angry with him, and he also knew that his actions might be a bit excessive, but now was not the time to talk about this.

Lu Shi thought of the little girl who was still in the hospital and hurried out:

"Weifang, we have to go to the hospital now. An An pulled a little girl's hair today, and the little girl fell to the ground and broke her head."

"Ah?" Zhang Weifang didn't expect the situation to be so serious. He thought An An was just being naughty.

The two of them no longer cared about their quarrel and went to the hospital together with some fruits and malted milk.

Hu Zi just came back from school and he stayed to look after An An.

In a ward of the People's Hospital, a little girl was lying on the bed with gauze on her forehead and blood oozing out of the gauze.

The little girl's father went to pay the bill, and her mother was wiping her tears by the bed.

When Zhang Weifang and Lu Shi arrived at the hospital, the first thing they did was to find a doctor to ask about the little girl's condition.

Upon learning that the little girl might have a scar on her head, Zhang Weifang felt filled with guilt and self-blame.

She couldn't understand why this innocent and lovely child had suffered such misfortune. Looking at the little girl's tender face and the fear and helplessness in her eyes, Zhang Weifang felt heartbroken.

She didn't know what to do to ease the guilt she felt. Didn't she know why she gave birth to such a troublesome son? Was it really a debt she owed in a past life?

Zhang Weifang put the things in his hand on the bedside table, and then apologized to the little girl's parents repeatedly:

"I'm sorry, this is all my son's fault. We will cover the little girl's hospitalization and nutrition expenses. Of course, we will also give her compensation."

The little girl's mother lowered her head and said nothing. The little girl's father had a cold face and cursed at Zhang Weifang and Lu Shi:

"You talk nicely, but my daughter will have a scar on her head. How will she get married in the future? What kind of a thing did you give birth to? If he's not old enough, I will definitely send him to prison."

Lu Shi's face flushed red, and he kept bending over to apologize to others. Even when people cursed at him, he pretended not to hear them. In fact, he felt very uncomfortable, and it was the first time he bent over for his son.

Zhang Weifang stared at Lu Shi's appearance, and a strong pain surged in her heart. She had always known that Lu Shi was a man with a strong sense of self-esteem. To make him humble and servile was even more painful than killing him.

At this moment, Lu Shi seemed to have lost his former charm and confidence, and became dull. Zhang Weifang sighed secretly. She could feel the tremendous pressure and helplessness that Lu Shi was under deep in his heart.

However, the son is their own child, and as parents they must take responsibility for him.

The little girl's father was tired of scolding them for a long time, so he just kicked the two of them out.

Before leaving, Zhang Weifang left two hundred yuan for them to pay for the medical expenses and said that she would not shirk her responsibilities.

On the way home for dinner, Lu Shi didn't say a word. Zhang Weifang knew that he was digesting his emotions, so she followed Lu Shi silently without disturbing him.

When they got home, Hu Zi had already applied medicine on An An's palms. An An fell asleep after crying herself tired.
