Chapter 3: Dinner

Hearing the word "single", the Yue Lao system suddenly became excited and spoke several times faster:

"Single? It's because there are too many single people that the population has declined sharply. As the population decreases, other species develop faster, and the planet will soon collapse."

The Yue Lao System took a deep breath and continued:

"Even after scientists developed human cloning, they couldn't resist the invasion of genetic diseases. The planet once became a polyandrous society, and the population continued to decline."

Zhang Weifang has no way to deal with this situation, because in today's society, there are many people who are unwilling to get married and have children for various reasons. This is an institutional problem and it is difficult to solve it in a short time.

"So the main task of the Yue Lao system is reproduction?" Zhang Weifang now feels that the burden on him is very heavy, and he no longer feels as relaxed as before.

"Host, don't be nervous. There are thousands of systems like mine in the galaxy. We all have the same mission, so your pressure is not that great."

"That's good. This is my first time doing this kind of mission, and I'm not sure about it." Zhang Weifang breathed a sigh of relief.

The voice of the Yue Lao system also returned to its original tone:

"This is my first mission too. My number is 77. Host, let's work together."

"Okay, then I'll call you Qiqi, let's all cheer together!"

The two fledglings happily reached a consensus.

The Lord God in the depths of the Milky Way galaxy looked at the blank score number 77, staring at it in silence for a long time before slowly exhaling:

"There are only three months left of the probation period. If things really don't work out, I'll have to go back to the training room and start over."

"Qiqi, my job is to help everyone find a good marriage. Having children is not my responsibility, right?" Zhang Weifang confirmed again.

"Yes, host. According to data analysis, a good marriage will make everyone happy physically and mentally, and will also make them more willing to reproduce."

"Okay, so how many points do I have now?"

"Host, everyone's initial score is 0 points. You should work hard on the task. If you really can't succeed, just get yourself married first." The Yue Lao System said seriously.

"Okay, I'll try my best!"

At about seven o'clock in the evening, all the family members arrived. Originally, Zhang Weifang's mother was worried that she was not well, so she asked her to eat in the house, but Zhang Weifang looked at the choking and dim oil lamp on the table and chose to eat in the yard.

It gets dark late in July, but the sky is still bright at seven o'clock. A family of eight sits at a table in the middle of the courtyard. There is a pot of steamed cornbread on the table, and each person has a bowl of clear rice soup, which is today's dinner.

The square table is only 60 cm high, with two people sitting on each side, which is just enough for a family of eight. Two people sit together on a simple and worn bench.

As soon as Zhang Jiuyun took the first bite, everyone quickly grabbed the steamed bread in the bowl and wolfed it down, then picked up the bowl and gulped down a mouthful of soup. In less than fifteen minutes, only empty bowls and basins were left on the table.

Zhang Weifang still had half a steamed bun left in her hand. Facing everyone's gaze, she said embarrassedly:

"I really can't eat anymore."

"Give it to me if you can't eat it, big sister. Is your cold not healed yet?" The second girl said and snatched the steamed bread away.

The second child, Zhang Weishuang, is only fourteen years old this year, but she is tall and strong. She can swallow the steamed bread in just two or three bites. Zhang Weifang is really afraid that she will choke.

"Eat slowly, I'm almost well!"

The three daughters in the family are 18-year-old Zhang Weifang, 14-year-old Zhang Weishuang, and 7-year-old Zhang Weifen.

The three sons are 12-year-old Zhang Weiren, 5-year-old Zhang Weibao and 2-year-old Zhang Weicun.

There is a strange phenomenon in this family. Both Zhang and his wife are illiterate. They are simple and somewhat ignorant farmers.

However, the old couple required the children in the family to learn to read and write, especially the eldest child, who was even required to go to high school.

The years have been bad, and we really have to eat coarse food and chew tree bark. Even so, we didn't let the eldest son drop out of school.

So, Zhang's parents really have a special preference for their children.

Moreover, the couple never beat their children. Even if they made mistakes, they would just scold them. This is very rare in this era.

"Sister, I heard from Meili that you can't find a job and now it's a big problem for you." Weifen's words made the atmosphere freeze instantly.

If the original owner heard this, she would definitely be angry and cry, but Zhang Weifang didn't feel anything because she knew that her little sister was usually a bit naive.

"Weifang, don't listen to Weifen's nonsense. If they say they will arrange a job for you, then they will. Just wait and there is no rush." Zhang Jiuyun comforted her, and he always believed in his heart that studying is useful.

The Zhang family's brothers and sisters are divided into three groups. The first group is Zhang Weifang and Zhang Weiren, the eldest son and daughter in the family. They are not only good-looking, but also excellent in study. They have always been the brainpower of the family. The only shortcoming of the two is that they are not tall.

The second echelon is the second son and daughter in the family, Zhang Weishuang and Zhang Weibao. Both of them were born in the middle group and were relatively neglected by their parents. They are the physical strength of the family and are relatively strong.

The third echelon consists of the two youngest people, Zhang Weifen and Zhang Weicun. I don’t know if it’s because they are still young, but both of them are selfish and lack common sense.

After the meal, Zhang Qiaona cleaned up the dishes neatly, and Zhang Weishuang and Zhang Weibao helped wipe the table and put the stools away.

The two youngest ones had already run out to play, and Zhang Weiren was also studying with a book.

After everyone left, Zhang Weifang walked around in the yard and observed the layout of the yard.

The entire courtyard is rectangular, facing north and south, with two cave dwellings of the same size on the north side.

Originally, Zhang's parents had one room and their elders had another, but the elders in the family passed away a few years ago, and now the girls in the family live in the other room.

On the west side are two side caves, one large and one small. The large one is where the boys live, and the small one is a storage room where some corn cobs and dry wood are stored for burning.

On the east side is a relatively large bungalow. Looking up from inside the room, you can see the beams and neatly arranged wood on the roof. It is the guest room of the house.

It was originally for Zhang Jiuyun's brothers to live in, but his younger brothers have all moved out.

There is a small bungalow at the intersection of the east room and the north kiln, which is the kitchen of the house.

There is no separate living room, so guests are directly entertained in Zhang Jiuyun and his family's cave.

The yard is divided into the inner yard and the outer yard. The inner yard is paved with stones, some of which are large and some are small. The overall surface is uneven and it is easy to fall if you are not careful.
