Chapter 30 Chaotic Night

On the wedding night, one of the four joys in life, the two people had just lay down reluctantly when they heard the crying of a child and the cursing of a woman outside.

"I told you to cry, why are you crying? I think you have grown wings."

The crying became louder and louder and lasted for a few minutes, followed by the intermittent sounds of a man and a woman arguing.

After a long time, the noise outside stopped. Zhang Weifang lay on the kang and cursed his mother, saying that his sister-in-law's family did it on purpose and were deliberately making life difficult for them.

It was pitch black outside, with only a few stars. The candles in the house had gone out, but you could still smell the pungent smell of burning candles.

What happened one after another in the evening made Zhang Weifang completely angry. She now began to doubt whether it was the right decision for her to marry him.

Li Hongru was furious. He wanted to lose his temper but felt it was inappropriate. He was afraid of scaring Zhang Weifang, so he had to endure it.

He reached out and held Zhang Weifang tightly. The warmth from his palm made Zhang Weifang slowly calm down.

She decided to go back home immediately tomorrow as she couldn't stay in this place for even a minute longer.

Neither of them spoke, nor did they take any next step. Their tightly clasped hands made them feel like they were supporting each other that night.

I don't know how much time passed, but it became completely quiet outside.

Zhang Weifang turned around and looked at Li Hongru, and said in a firm tone:

"Let's go back to our own home tomorrow!"

"Well, I'm sorry for putting you through this today."

Zhang Weifang's anger had subsided. She knew that Li Hongru was suffering more than she was, so she pretended to be magnanimous:

"It's okay, we just need to be good to each other from now on."

Li Hongru felt a sense of comfort in his heart, and he hugged the person in his arms with force.

The hot masculine scent, the pounding heart, and the hot hands on her back all made Zhang Weifang feel uneasy.

She was afraid but also a little looking forward to what was going to happen next. She was so nervous that she didn't know what to do.

Just when she didn't know what to do, she felt warm and rapid breathing on her face, and then two soft lips pressed against her lips.

Zhang Weifang instantly felt her face hot as if on fire, and the extreme softness impacted her senses. She couldn't help but think that Li Hongru's mouth was so soft, like white clouds. So this is what kissing felt like.

She no longer had time to think about anything else. The man's big hands kept groping her back, and his lips moved up and down.

The increasingly fast breathing hit her face, wet and itchy. Zhang Weifang felt a little thirsty and could only open her mouth slightly. At that moment, a wet tongue stretched into her mouth.

His tongue stirred back and forth in her mouth, like a small boat in the vast sea of people, unable to tell the direction.

Zhang Weifang is now dizzy, his body slightly curled up, trying to find a support point, but he is wrapped in the warm air all around, unable to go up or down, making him forget what year it is.

Suddenly, there were "bang bang bang" sounds outside.

"Mom and Dad, get up quickly, Dahua has a fever."

The anxious voice was particularly eye-catching in the quiet night. Everyone woke up instantly, got up, put on their clothes and left the room.

The atmosphere that Li Hongru and Zhang Weifang had just created was extinguished in an instant, and both of them stood up at the same time.

"What's wrong? Is something wrong with Dahua?" Li Guifang ran out without even buttoning his clothes.

"Dad, Dahua is feverish and delirious." Li Gaitang's face was covered with tears and he was trembling all over.

"Stop talking, send to the hospital first."

Li Hongru pushed the bicycle out and asked Li Hongdong to sit on the back seat holding the child. He took a step forward and rode out with a "whoosh".

Ma Shulan was so anxious from behind that she yelled, "Third brother, ride slower."

The rest of the people went back into the house, some were waiting anxiously, while others were sleeping soundly.

Zhang Weifang was a little worried at first, but slowly she fell asleep because she was really tired from the day.

Li Hongru came back at 6 o'clock in the morning. The two old people were so worried that they didn't sleep well all night. When they saw him come back, they asked anxiously:

"How's Dahua?"

"I'm fine. I took two bottles of antipyretic solution last night, and my fever has just gone down. But I still need to stay in the hospital for two days for observation."

"Oh my God, it's okay, it's okay." Ma Shulan was scared all night, but now she was finally relieved.

"Mom and Dad, my eldest brother didn't sleep all night, so it's my eldest sister-in-law's turn now!"

"Okay, okay, Gaitang, you go ahead, Dabao, we'll just watch over you."

Li Hongru sent his sister-in-law to the hospital before returning. At this time, everyone in the family had already gotten up.

Cui Xiaojuan made a simple meal and everyone left after eating.

Li Hongxi still had to go to work today, so after dinner he took his wife and children home directly.

The old couple had been worried all night and now went back to lie down and rest. Li Hongqin stayed to clean up the dishes.

Li Hongru's eyes were blue. Zhang Weifang asked him to go and rest for a while, but he shook his head and asked Zhang Weifang to pack up and go home.

Zhang Weifang didn't know why he was so anxious, but she happily went to pack her things. Actually, there was nothing much to pack, just her dowry from yesterday.

It was a heavy 28-inch bicycle with two washbasins hanging on the handlebars, a quilt tied to the front beam, and Zhang Weifang holding a bundle in the back seat.

With the heavy object pressing on the bicycle, Zhang Weifang was really afraid that the tire would be crushed.

Fortunately, half an hour later, the two people arrived home safely with their bicycles intact.

Li Hongru started to light a fire and boil water, while Zhang Weifang put things in order.

After the hot water was ready, he filled a thermos first, and the rest was just enough for a bath. The slightly hot water allowed Zhang Weifang to stretch his limbs quickly, dispelling the fatigue of the past few days. Zhang Weifang got up after soaking for a while.

Li Hongru outside had also washed himself with well water.

After taking a shower, the two people went straight to the kang to rest. Their kang was not covered with oilcloth, but with a thick layer of earthen cloth, which not only isolated the hardness of the kang but also prevented the body from sticking.

If you heat the kang in winter, you need to lay a layer of oilcloth on it, which is heat-insulating and easy to clean.

In the quiet room, no one disturbed them. The two people slept soundly. A beam of sunlight shone in from the window, driving away the coolness in the house.

Around noon, Zhang Weifang woke up first. She tiptoed out of the room and went to the kitchen to prepare lunch.

The honeycomb coal stove is easier to operate, so Zhang Weifang prepared to make some simple mixed noodles.

After eating cornmeal for several months, she really wanted to eat white flour. She looked at the flour jar, which was full of cornmeal, and there were two pounds of white flour in the basket in the cupboard.

She scooped three spoonfuls of noodles, mixed them with cold water into a hard dough, and then covered the dough with a lid to let it rest.

I went to the vegetable garden and picked a cucumber, a chili pepper, and a tomato. I cut the cucumber and chili pepper into shreds and chopped the tomato.
