Chapter 33 Daily Life

Li Hongru felt a tenderness in his heart. He parked his bicycle, walked over and hugged the man in his arms, and asked gently:

"What's wrong? Are you bored?"

Zhang Weifang raised her head and looked at him, her voice soft and her eyes filled with indescribable affection:

"I'm too stupid. I don't know how to steam buns or roast eggplant."

Li Hongru kissed his wife lovingly and said softly:

"I'll take care of the cooking, you don't have to worry about that."

"But it's boring for me to just rest every day, and I can help out."

Li Hongru touched her head and said seriously:

"I'll help you find out about work. You can sleep if you're bored."

Li Hongru made dinner, which was braised eggplant. Under Zhang Weifang's casual guidance, the dish was basically a success.

The main course for dinner was instant noodles. Since we didn’t have any old noodles, we had to steam buns the next day. Both of us were very satisfied with the meal.

Washing dishes was also Li Hongru's job because Zhang Weifang hated washing dishes.

After dinner, the two of them took a walk before coming back and got to know the neighbors around them.

Living on the left is the Ma family. There are quite a few people in their family. Master Ma is a chef in a state-owned restaurant. His wife is at home. They have two sons. The eldest son is married, and the younger son is single.

The Liu family lives on the right. The whole family are coal miners. Coal mining is a high-risk industry nowadays, but the salary is very high.

The Zhao family, who lived next door to the Liu family, also worked in a textile factory. They knew Li Hongru, but were not familiar with him.

Everyone chatted for a while at the door and then went home. Since they were all working class, their conditions should be similar. Zhang Weifang had a rough idea in her mind.

It was time to rest again. Zhang Weifang was still not used to lying in bed with a man. It might be because the male hormones were too strong.

Li Hongru also felt her resistance. He gently took her hand and sang a song. His magnetic voice made it clear whether she was right or not:

"The full moon has risen in the sky, why are there no clouds around it..."

"Meeting at the Oboo, is this song already available at this time?" Zhang Weifang thought to himself.

But she did not ask, but the song rose and fell in her heart, and her soul seemed to come to the grassland, beside the campfire, among a group of dancing men and women.

The vast sky and earth, the green grass stretching to the horizon, spinning and jumping, the sound of pastoral songs, meeting at the Aobao, and no regrets in youth.

The song is melodious, touching and refreshing, witnessing the mysterious and romantic love.

I don't know when the singing stopped, and the moonlight shone through the window onto the overlapping figures, rising and falling, lingering.

Zhang Weifang woke up at almost ten o'clock the next day. Her sore back and swollen belly reminded her of the madness of last night.

Last night, Zhang Weifang was listening to music, and they didn't know when they got entangled with each other. This time it was uncomfortable, but not too painful, just bloated, and it lasted longer, at least twenty minutes.

Zhang Weifang didn’t know whether this was good or bad, but she didn’t like it. She even suspected that there was something wrong with her.

She wanted to ask other people, but she couldn't ask about such private matters. Well, she could only take it one step at a time.

Tomorrow is Mid-Autumn Festival, and the harvest has already started at home. Zhang Weifang plans to go home for a few days to help out.

At noon, when Li Hongru came back, Zhang Weifang had already prepared the meal. Today it was pancakes again, thick cornmeal pancakes, fried in oil, golden yellow, and especially fragrant.

Today's dish is stewed tofu with some vermicelli. The tofu is tender and melts in your mouth. It has a light bean aroma. Paired with the smooth and delicious vermicelli, it is fragrant and mouth-watering.

After the two of them finished their meal happily, Li Hongru went to wash the dishes on his own initiative. He sang while working, feeling very happy. This kind of day was really a happy one.

"Hongru, tomorrow is August 15th. I want to go home and stay for a few days, just in time to help with the harvest."

Zhang Weifang's words made Li Hongru feel a little depressed. He secretly wondered if he had done something wrong, and his tone was a little tentative:

"Weifang, we've only been married for three days, how could you bear to leave me alone?"

Zhang Weifang was determined to go home and refused to give in.

"But we're harvesting at home, and we'll be together every day from now on."

"Okay, but we don't have a day off tomorrow, so you have to go back alone."

"I can do it alone. I'll leave this afternoon."

Li Hongru was shocked and couldn't help but frowning:

"Why are you in such a hurry? Aren't you going to spend another day with me?"

"Well, I want to go back early."

Li Hongru didn't think much about it. He thought Zhang Weifang was homesick and wanted to go back early. The two of them had a very happy time last night.

In fact, he was the only one who was happy at night. Zhang Weifang was not feeling well, but she was too embarrassed to refuse, and she couldn't find a solution for the time being, so she had to hide away.

Before Li Hongru left, he hugged and kissed her for a long time. He didn't know when they would see each other again.

Li Hongru left reluctantly. Zhang Weifang felt like crying as she watched him walk away. She also felt reluctant to let him go.

Zhang Weifang took a look at the red line interface between the two people. The matching degree was 90, and the happiness degree was also 90. She was a little confused about whether it was true or false for a moment.

The two people are so compatible, why are they not harmonious in bed?

Zhang Weifang thought about it but didn't ask. Even though it was a system, she was embarrassed to ask such a question.

At four o'clock in the afternoon, when the sun was not too strong, Zhang Weifang locked the door and walked towards Shuanglong Village.

The journey was too long, so she didn't buy much and just took two handfuls of noodles.

It was already 6:30 when she got home. When her family saw her coming back alone, they thought the couple had had a fight.

"Weifang, where is Hongru? Why are you alone?" Zhang Qiaona asked nervously.

"He was at work, so I came back by myself. I had nothing to do at home, so I came back to harvest the autumn harvest."

"That's fine, you can stay two days less." Zhang Qiao Na could tell at a glance that Zhang Weifang was insincere, but she didn't expose him, thinking that her daughter was being wronged.

In the evening, the family cooked a pot of noodles with two eggs in it. It was a rare delicacy that drove away the fatigue of the day.

These days everyone is busy harvesting millet and soybeans, and some people are picking beans and pumpkins.

When the millet is ripe, it is so heavy that it bends the crops, and each grain of rice is filled with plump rice grains.

People used sickles to cut the ears of grain one by one, put them into baskets, and then pulled them home on donkey carts.

Everyone bent over, moving quickly and fiercely, grabbing the ears of grain with their left hands and cutting with their right hands. With a "swish", the ears of grain were cut off, one after another, in uniform movements, like tireless robotic arms.
