Chapter 24 My older sister is coming to visit!

Zhao Xiang was mopping the floor on the first floor when she suddenly heard Wei Lun's voice.

"Strange, I think I just heard the boss call me. Am I hallucinating? Or am I just missing the boss too much?" Zhao Xiang shook her head, looking confused.

Wei Lun left the room and strolled down the stairs.

As he walked, he asked Zhao Xiang, who was mopping the floor in the lobby, "Xiangxiang, why didn't you answer when I called you?"

Zhao Xiangwei raised her rosy face: "Ah! A ghost!"

Wei Lun's sudden appearance startled Zhao Xiang, who clutched the mop to her chest, her petite body trembling.

When Zhao Xiang looked closely, it really was her boss who had returned; he had appeared at her home so suddenly.

Zhao Xiang, her mind full of questions, put down the mop and jogged towards Wei Lun.

Wei Lun came down the stairs and saw Zhao Xiang running towards him. He tapped her on the head and said, "We're at home. Why are you shouting like that? People will think I did something to you."

Zhao Xiang tilted her head back and said happily, "Boss, you've finally shown up! I've missed you so much these past two days. I've been very good and cleaned the house."

Wei Lun was already a little hungry when he got back, which was why he called Zhao Xiang—he wanted something to eat.

Sitting back on the large sofa in the living room, Wei Lun instructed, "Xiangxiang, hurry up and make lunch, I'm hungry."

Upon receiving the boss's instructions, Zhao Xiang excitedly rushed into the kitchen, as if being able to cook for the boss was the happiest thing in her life. You know, in today's highly competitive society, finding such an easy job with a monthly income of over ten thousand is definitely something to be excited about.

Donning a black apron and a chef's hat, Zhao Xiang began busily preparing for her work...

Wei Lun leaned back on the sofa, comfortably resting with his eyes half-closed, when his phone rang.

"Who is it? I just got back and they're already calling?" Wei Lun complained.

Picking up his phone, Wei Lun glanced at the contact name: "Older Sister," and immediately sat up straight and answered the call.

With a fawning tone, he said, "Hey sis, what made you think of your good-for-nothing brother?"

Wei Ruoqing's clear and melodious voice came through the phone: "Little brother, I have some free time recently, so I'm coming to see you. I've already set off for your rented apartment."

Wei Lun said with a mournful expression, "Sister, why do you always do things on a whim? Also, I changed my address."

Wei Ruoqing asked suspiciously, "Changed? Where are you staying now?"

Wei Lun honestly explained, "Sis, I've rented a new place. I'll send you the address."

After a long talk, Wei Ruoqing learned that her younger brother had moved to a bigger house and became even more curious about what kind of business he had recently started that had changed direction and moved to the garden villa area.

Inside the villa, the aroma of stir-fried dishes gradually filled the air, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

"Xiangxiang, cook a few more dishes, my sister is coming over soon," Wei Lun called out to the kitchen.

Zhao Xiang replied with a smile, "Yes, Master!"

A short while later, Wei Ruoqing arrived at the garden villa area. Looking at the rows of luxurious villas, Wei Ruoqing felt a little uneasy.

Did my younger brother get involved in some illegal business? Otherwise, why would he suddenly have the money to rent such a luxurious house?

Arriving at the gate of Wei Lun's courtyard, I rang the doorbell out of curiosity.

"Ring ring~"

Zhao Xiang had already placed the prepared food on the table. Hearing the doorbell, she went to the automatic door lock and pressed the button.

The courtyard gate opened automatically. Wei Ruoqing was stunned for a moment, then came to her senses and slowly walked in, glancing at the furnishings inside the villa.

"Master, a beautiful young lady has arrived," Zhao Xiang reported based on the surveillance video.

Wei Lun immediately stood up. It must be his sister coming to check on things; he had to go greet her. He ran his fingers through his hair and headed for the door.

Wei Ruoqing had just reached the door when Wei Lun arrived. They looked at each other, and in that instant, a familiar sense of kinship filled them both with smiles.

"Wei Lun, you've really made something of yourself! You live in such a big house. I didn't even know until I came!" Wei Ruoqing said with a smile.

When Wei Lun saw his older sister, he felt an innate fondness mixed with a touch of shyness and said politely, "Sister, welcome to my new home. The food is just ready, please have some with us."

Wei Ruoqing nodded in agreement, but seeing the woman accompanying Wei Lun, she was unsure of the woman's identity.

When the two sat down at the dining table together, Wei Ruoqing saw the woman standing behind Wei Lun, bustling around serving him. Only then did she realize that her younger brother had actually hired a maid.

The table was laden with delicious-looking and fragrant food, and Wei Lun's appetite was whetted; he was the first to start eating.

"Sister, try Xiangxiang's cooking, it's really good." Wei Lun praised as he ate with relish.

Hearing this, Zhao Xiang was even more moved. Being recognized by her boss meant that her job was more stable.

Wei Ruoqing picked up her chopsticks, tasted it, and said, "You really know how to enjoy yourself."

Looking embarrassed, Wei Lun picked up a shrimp and handed it to his sister, saying, "Sis, isn't the point of making money to live a better life?"

Wei Ruoqing frowned slightly: "Where did you get all this money? What kind of business did you do that made so much money?"

As the older sister, Wei Ruoqing took care of and accompanied Wei Lun from childhood. She knew Wei Lun's abilities and preferences very well. Although it was something to be happy about that her younger brother was doing well, she had an obligation to stop him if he did anything illegal.

Wei Lun said with a grin, "Sister, don't worry, my job is good, it just requires me to travel frequently."

Hearing her younger brother say this, Wei Ruoqing still said seriously, "Little brother, remember this: no matter what business you do, it must be legal and compliant, and you must also know how to be frugal, understand?"

Wei Lun said confidently, "Sister, I understand, it's absolutely legal and compliant!"

Upon hearing this, Wei Ruoqing finally smiled and began to savor the delicious food. The two of them quickly finished all the dishes on the table, leaving the rest to be cleaned up by the skillful Zhao Xiang.

Wei Ruoqing pulled Wei Lun to sit down on the sofa for a long talk.

"Little brother, no matter how successful you become in your career, you must remember that we are children of farmers, and we must cherish our good life." Wei Ruoqing said earnestly, worried that her younger brother would forget his roots once he had money.

Wei Lun patted his chest and assured her, "Sister, you have to believe me!"

The two chatted and laughed for about half an hour.

Wei Ruoqing said emotionally, "Little brother, let's go home and see our parents together."

As expected, the reason her sister came to visit her this time was twofold: first, to see if she was doing well, and second, to take her home to visit their parents, since they were getting old and would inevitably miss their children at home.
