Chapter 127 Zhou Wenjing

As the two chatted, Zhou Wenxi also talked about stocks. "My sister spent all her money on stocks, and now she has lost more than 3,000 yuan." She did not buy any stocks herself, and she also kept Chen Mingpei under control. She was still in fear of the stock market crash.

Su Qingmeng sighed: "The stock market is volatile. Some people become rich overnight, while others lose their wealth. No one can guarantee a steady profit." If she hadn't known about this historical development, she wouldn't have thrown her money into the stock market. That's what she felt in her heart.

Zhou Wenxi said: "She even advised me to buy it, but luckily I didn't listen to her."

Su Qingmeng suggested, "In fact, if you have money, you might as well make some investments. Of course, you can't buy stocks, you can buy a house. As prices rise, money becomes less and less valuable, but housing prices continue to rise."

The two have known each other for many years, so Su Qingmeng can feel at ease to give suggestions.

Zhou Wenxi said: "No wonder you like buying houses."

"The bungalow I bought in Beijing was demolished and I lost two apartments. The keys were handed to me just before the New Year. If I sell it now, I can get 300,000 yuan. Do you know how much I paid for it?"

Zhou Wenxi shook her head and lowered her voice, "Six thousand, that's increased fifty times in five years."

Zhou Wenxi's eyes widened. "So many?"

Su Qingmeng nodded, indicating that what she said was true.

Zhou Wenxi was tempted. Her family had tens of thousands of yuan in savings, enough to buy a small house. She asked, "Where do you think it would be best to buy?"

Su Qingmeng: "I'm leaning towards buying a house in Pudong New Area. My family already owns three properties there. Newspapers keep reporting on the upcoming development of Pudong, and I'm optimistic about its future development."

"Let me think about it. No matter what, Qingmeng, thank you." Zhou Wenxi knew that she only said this to herself because she regarded her as a friend.

Su Qingmeng waved her hand and said, "You're welcome. You should think about it and discuss it with Professor Chen." Otherwise, it would be bad if it caused family conflicts between them.

"Knock, knock, knock." Someone knocks on the door.

Zhou Wenxi went to open the door, "Wenjing, why are you here?"

Zhou Wenjing went into the house and closed the door. "I'm so angry, big sister, please persuade my parents. It's none of my business if my sister-in-law loses money on the stock market. It's not me who asked her to buy it."

"Sister-in-law, that ***," she cursed as she walked into the house. She stopped when she saw Su Qingmeng, "Do you have guests at home?"

Zhou Wenxi didn't have time to stop her sister. She looked at Su Qingmeng with an apologetic look, "Yes, this is my friend Su Qingmeng. Qingmeng, this is my sister Zhou Wenjing."

After the two of them greeted each other and sat down, the living room became quiet and awkward. Su Qingmeng said, "I'll go upstairs and check on the two children."

Watching her disappear at the stairs, Zhou Wenjing couldn't wait to say, "Sister, please judge for yourself. What does it have to do with me if my sister-in-law loses money on the stock market? I've lost a lot myself!"

Zhou Wenxi frowned, "Sister-in-law bought stocks? I haven't heard about that."

"Hmph, she bought it secretly without telling anyone and lost all their family savings, tens of thousands! How could my brother have so much money? It must be my parents who subsidized them. My parents are just partial." Zhou Wenjing was indignant.

"My eldest brother and his wife both have jobs, and their salaries can save more than 10,000 yuan. It may not be given by my parents, so don't make groundless assumptions."

Zhou Wenjing didn't believe it in her heart, but she didn't refute it. "Sister, please lend me some money."

"Why do you want to borrow money? How much?"

Zhou Wenjing: "2000, our family has no money left."

"Why are you borrowing so much?" Zhou Wenxi frowned. "You don't want to speculate in stocks again, do you?"

Seeing her sister's guilty look, she was furious. "You've lost all your family fortune, and you're still buying stocks. Do you have a grudge against money?"

Zhou Wenjing said firmly, "This is temporary. The price is low right now. Buy now and you'll make money when the stock price goes up."

Zhou Wenxi couldn't understand, "I won't lend it to you." She thought her sister was crazy. Even an outsider like her knew that the stock market was falling all the time. She didn't know who her sister had listened to to be so confident about the stock market.

Zhou Wenjing left angrily, and before leaving, she said, "Take some time to go home and see your parents. They are almost mad at your sister-in-law."

Su Qingmeng was smiling as she listened to two children playing piano and violin together. They were playing their own instruments, but they were not in the same tune.

Zhou Wenxi waved, "Let's go downstairs and continue talking." "Is your sister gone?" Su Qingmeng followed her down the stairs.

"She left," she poured a glass of water for Su Qingmeng, "She asked me to lend her money, and when I refused, she got angry and left." Zhou Wenxi didn't have the idea that family disgrace should not be made public. Su Qingmeng knew almost everything about her family.

Su Qingmeng looked puzzled. She felt that Zhou Wenxi was not such a cold person and would not even lend money to her own sister.

Zhou Wenxi sighed. "If she had borrowed money to live on, I wouldn't have been stingy. But she was so stubborn she wanted to invest in the stock market, so I refused." She leaned her head against the back of the sofa and looked at the ceiling. "After all, they live with my parents. They don't have to worry about food and shelter. They won't starve to death even if they have no money."

"Oh," Su Qingmeng was speechless. However, if Zhou Wenjing invested the money in the stock market now and waited for a bull market next year, she could really make money if she had the patience to wait. Su Qingmeng did not express her thoughts.

Zhou Wenxi said, "I really didn't expect my sister-in-law to start investing in stocks. They've always been at odds."

"A lot of people were tempted in the past few months. It has been rumored privately that some people became rich overnight and earned hundreds of thousands of dollars. People with weak minds can easily be tempted." Su Qingmeng could feel the impetuousness of society whenever she went out occasionally.

"My parents will definitely be angry. They already have a grudge against my sister-in-law, and this time she's caused such a big disaster, who knows what the situation will be like?" Zhou Wenxi was worried at the thought of going back to her parents' home.

"Look at the bright side. Every failure is a lesson learned. Try not to let her manage money in the future. What happened has already happened. There's no point in pursuing it further." Su Qingmeng persuaded, "You should go home and take care of it. We're going back now, mother and daughter."
