Chapter 14
Xie Que: "Yes, here I come."
Xie stopped opening the cabinet door and immediately ran to Jing Xiebai's side.
"Tsk, this kid is hiding well enough." Jing Xiebai lifted the bed with a look of disgust, picked up a handy knife and cut the wooden floor in half.
When the wooden board was lifted, glass jars containing corpses were revealed.
"Damn, this Wang Qiang is quite cruel." Jing Xiebai counted the number of jars. There were twelve in total, neatly placed under the bed.
Xie was also a little surprised. He squatted down and carefully looked at the bodies in the jars. He found that most of them were missing hands, and some were missing other body parts.
"He specifically looked for disabled children?" Xie did not understand the specific requirements of the blood sacrifice.
"They must have hired human traffickers. They wanted to gather twelve children at once, so disabled ones would be easier to find."
Human traffickers usually deal with disabled children by leaving them on the streets to beg, and if they find someone to buy them, they will sell them at a low price.
Jing Xiebai knocked on the glass jar. The child's body was stuffed in the small jar, with wrinkled skin, looking very scary.
The blood sacrifice of twelve children increased the resentment of the evil ghost, and it must have taken a hundred years to cultivate.
"Do you want to call the police?" Xie Que looked at Jing Xiebai's face and said seriously. He didn't know whether the exorcist would take care of this matter, but he couldn't just leave the body here.
"That's for sure." Jing Xiebai withdrew his hand. "Don't worry, Lu Jueqiu is in charge of this matter. He will take care of it."
The Lu family has not been involved in exorcism in recent years. They are more focused on helping exorcists deal with subsequent matters. After all, most of the cases that require exorcists are those involving human lives.
"Let's go, Lu Jueqiu should be here soon, let's go out and wait."
Jing Xiebai didn't want to stay here any longer. It made him feel uncomfortable seeing so many corpses.
"Okay." It was the first time for Xie to see so many corpses, and he felt uncomfortable.
The night in the mountains is not very quiet. The wind brings a rustling sound, occasionally accompanied by a few birds singing. It is pitch black all around, and you can see the stars when you look up.
Xie didn't say anything, but raised his head to count the stars.
Jing Xiebai ran to the mountain to pick a wild fruit, threw the fruit away while staring at the tree in a daze.
The temperature was low at night, but Xie suddenly realized that he was a little cold.
"He..." He was interrupted by a loud roar in the middle of his words.
A bright headlight shone over, startling the birds in the tree and causing them to flap their wings and fly away. Lu Jueqiu slammed on the brakes, raising a cloud of flying sand.
Jing Xiebai stopped throwing the wild fruits and looked at the person who came with an unhappy look on his face.
Lu Jueqiu's face turned even worse. He rolled down the window, revealing a face that was uglier than anyone else's. "Come on up, the Lu family will be here soon."
Jing Xiebai didn't move, so Xie felt embarrassed to get in the car.
Lu Jueqiu was wearing a short-sleeved shirt and had her long hair tied back with a few strands falling down. Although she had a feminine and beautiful face, every word she spoke was as sharp as a knife.
"What are you looking at? Hurry up and get in the car. I didn't even play my fucking game just to pick you up. Don't be so shameless."
Jing Xiebai snorted, walked over and pushed Lu Jueqiu out of the driver's seat: "Get out, you bastard, I don't know how you got your driver's license, you drive like this."
Lu Jueqiu didn't let him snatch it away, so he ran to the back seat, pulled out his phone, and started playing games, muttering to himself, "Tsk, without me, how are you going to get home today?"
Xie looked at the two of them and felt a headache. He suddenly felt that he should call the police and ask them to take him home.
"Alright, alright, stop arguing." Xie spoke up and acted as a peacemaker. After all, he was different from these two young masters. He still had to go to work.
"Let me take you home first." Jing Xiebai reversed the car skillfully.
"Okay." Xie was really tired after this night, so he fell asleep as soon as he got in the car.
Jing Xiebai was a much better driver than Lu Jueqiu, but Xie slept quite well.
Arrived at the entrance of the community.
"Come up and help me feed the cat. I have other things to deal with." Jing Xiebai took out the key and handed it to Xie Que.
This matter is not over yet. He is not at ease to hand it over to others, so he insists on going there in person tonight.
"Yeah." Xie was still sleepy. He took the key and turned to walk into the community.
"What else do you have to say?" Lu Jueqiu finished a game, threw his phone aside, and asked casually.
"Lost?" Jing Xiebai started the car and glanced at Lu Jueqiu through the rearview mirror.
"Tsk, what's it got to do with you?" Lu Jueqiu was in a bad mood when he met his stupid teammates.
"Look at you." Jing Xiebai curled the corners of his mouth, his face full of ridicule.
"Fuck." Lu Jueqiu couldn't stand Jing Xiebai's behavior, so he took back his phone and started another game.
"Okay, okay, I won't bother you anymore. I'm going to find Wang Qiang to clean up the mess. Are you coming too?"
"Of course. Do you want me to notify the police?"
Jing Xiebai disagreed: "It's too late. I'll get someone to keep an eye on him and personally send him to the police station after questioning him."
"Okay." Lu Jueqiu was immersed in the game and didn't say anything else.
Jing Xiebai had never been to Wang Qiang's house, and was stopped by security when he arrived.
"Wang Qiang, open the door."
Jing Xiebai spoke in a cold tone.
Wang Qiang on the other end of the phone trembled as he spoke: "I...I'm the owner of District 4. Open the door for him."
The security guard glanced at Jing Xiebai, not daring to say anything more, and opened the door quickly. After working as a security guard for so many years, he knew what he could and could not take care of.
"What's wrong with Wang Qiang? Did you call someone to beat him? He's so scared." Lu Jueqiu was busy beating the dragon and asked without raising his head.
"How could that be? It's no surprise that he's coming back to haunt me because of the karma he's incurred."
Jing Xiebai actually didn't like dealing with matters unrelated to exorcism. He was constantly being killed for one reason or another, which was incredibly annoying. If it weren't for the involvement of evil spirits and Taoist priests, Jing Xiebai would usually leave these matters to Lu Jueqiu.
Don't look at Lu Jueqiu as a grumpy teenager who only knows how to play games in front of him. He is much more dangerous than those old foxes. Otherwise, how could the Lu family build up such a deep network of relationships in just a few years.
"We're here, let's go in and take a look." Jing Xiebai parked the car and waited patiently for Lu Jueqiu to finish the game.
"Let's go." Lu Jueqiu didn't let him wait. He clicked surrender to quickly end the game. He ignored the insults from his teammates and skillfully clicked report.
Jing Xiebai couldn't bear to watch it any longer and advised, "Is this game really that fun? You're matched with such idiotic teammates every day and you still manage to play."
Jing Xiebai also played games for a while in high school. He was so angry with his teammates that he wrote a thousand-word letter of denunciation and vowed never to play again.
Lu Jueqiu glanced at Jing Xiebai and did not refute. He sometimes wondered why he was matched with rubbish teammates every day. He was obviously at a high rank, so why did he still meet actors? He really didn't understand.
When the two of them entered, Wang Qiang was praying to Buddha in the living room.
"Buddha bless you, Buddha bless you, it's really not my fault, he deserved it."
Jing Xiebai glanced at Wang Qiang, who was kneeling in front of the Buddha statue, and asked the people around him, "Has anyone been here?"
"No." A good-looking young man answered.
"?"
Jing Xiebai didn't quite believe it. He didn't think that the Taoist priest would not come to kill and silence the witnesses. The only explanation was that he came but was not discovered.
Jing Xiebai's heart sank. He stopped dwelling on this point and walked over to Wang Qiang and kicked him.
"I don't care about anything else, but who gave you that statue?"
Wang Qiang didn't make a fuss after being kicked. He looked at Jing Xiebai blankly and continued to kneel and worship Buddha.
"Buddha bless you, Buddha..."
"Tsk, I'm asking you a question." Jing Xiebai picked up Wang Qiang and threw him on the sofa.
"What are you afraid of? I've already dealt with the ghost. Now all that awaits you is jail."
Jing Xiebai was tall and stood in front of Wang Qiang, blocking the Buddha statue.
People cannot place their hopes on Buddha statues, but must place their hopes on themselves.
“Ghost…..There’s a ghost!”
When Wang Qiang heard the word "ghost", he reacted strongly, kneeling on the sofa and shaking all over.
Jing Xiebai couldn't bear it any longer, so he held Wang Qiang down and pinched a point on his forehead.
"Can we talk properly now?"
There is a reason why Jing Xiebai hates dealing with these things. Most people find it difficult to remain calm when encountering things beyond their understanding.
Jing Xiebai suddenly recalled the scene when he first met Xie Que. Although he had been tortured by ghosts for such a long time, Xie Que's eyes did not show any panic or weakness. Instead, he looked like a wolf, alert and ferocious.
I wonder if he remembered to feed the cat.
Jing Xiebai suddenly laughed softly, his mood improved a lot, and his words were not so aggressive anymore.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here, no ghost can hurt you."
Jing Xiebai sat down beside him and picked up an apple and tossed it in his hand: "Let me ask you, who gave you that Buddha statue?"
"Don't think about getting away with it. I don't have much patience." Jing Xiebai's eyes were cold. He was anxious to go back and pet the cat, but he was in no mood to argue with him here.
Wang Qiang shrank his head. He didn't know Jing Xiebai, but he knew Lu Jueqiu, the only son of the Lu family. Who would dare to mess with him? Even if he had ten times the courage, he wouldn't dare to play tricks in front of this man, let alone the man in front of him who looked not to be messed with.
"I met him by chance. I was...very upset by him at the time, and just when I was about to look for someone else, I ran into him."
Recalling that day, Wang Qiang himself felt it was ridiculous. He was a businessman and knew that there was no free lunch, but this matter was too big, and the statue was indeed useful. Over time, Wang Qiang didn't care about this matter anymore. If the Jing family hadn't come to his door today, he would have almost forgotten that he had killed someone.
"When I got home that day, I opened the door and saw a man sitting in my living room. I was terrified and thought he was looking for me. I knelt down on the spot in fear."
Wang Qiang was shaking. What happened that day had a great impact on him.
"I asked him what he wanted, and he said he didn't want anything, but that if I put the statue in that house, it would solve everything."
Wang Qiang was frightened at the time and had no choice but to agree.
Jing Xiebai was a little annoyed after hearing this. He kicked Wang Qiang and said, "What's his name? What does he look like? Don't tell me you've only met once."
Wang Qiang didn't dare to dodge and took the kick head-on.
He was about to cry but couldn't. "It was really just this one time. I checked the surveillance footage later but couldn't find out who he was."
Nonsense, who would be stupid enough to let themselves be filmed by surveillance cameras?
Jing Xiebai cursed in his heart. He really couldn't imagine how Wang Qiang, with his brain, could manage such a large company. Did his employees know that their boss was so unreliable?
"Don't you know what it's called or what it looks like?"
Jing Xiebai did not give up. He was very interested in this Taoist priest. Since graduating from high school, Jing Xiebai had never met anyone who could hide his breathing in front of him. The fact that he could approach him silently showed how high his cultivation level was.
"His name is...his name is Chen Shan! Yes, yes, yes! His name is Chen Shan." Wang Qiang bravely asked the other party's name, wanting to see if the other party was sent by his enemy.
"I didn't see his face clearly, but he was about 1.75 meters tall. Sitting on the sofa, he was about the same height as my son!"
After saying that, Wang Qiang looked at Jing Xiebai cautiously, and repeated it again for fear that he would be dissatisfied.
Jing Xiebai: “….”
Of course, I have never heard of the name Chen Shan, but isn’t it easy to find someone named Chen Shan who has high cultivation and a long life?
Jing Xiebai glanced at Lu Jueqiu and signaled him to go find someone quickly.
"Three days." Lu Jueqiu quit the game, asked for a computer, and started typing.
Jing Xiebai was assured that Lu Jueqiu was doing the job.
"One last question. Did you deal with the body? Or did Chen Shan teach you?"
Wang Qiang shuddered again when he mentioned the corpse and said hurriedly, "He, he taught me."
After getting the answer he wanted, Jing Xiebai didn't stay long, picked up the car keys and went out.
"Hand it over to the police station. Find out who the traffickers are and send them all in."
"yes."
Having dealt with the evil ghost and learned the name of the Taoist priest, Jing Xiebai was now extremely excited. He stepped on the accelerator to the bottom and sped all the way home.
After opening the door, Jing Xiebai didn't turn on the lights for fear of disturbing Fubao's rest. He hurriedly took a shower with a flashlight and drew talismans for several hours before he was willing to go to bed.
