Su Tian turned to look at Song Zhe and said, "How about I hum a song for you?"
"Okay." A deep, husky voice came from Song Zhe's mouth, lingering in Su Tian's ears.
Su Tian immediately hummed the theme song from the movie "If Love Has a Destiny" that she watched in her freshman year of college: "Me to You, You to Me".
Having never experienced the apocalypse, she used to enjoy watching sentimental movies and really liked the innocent, budding feelings between the male and female leads.
As Song Zhe rode his bicycle, he listened quietly to Su Tian humming a song.
He noticed that Su Tian seemed preoccupied today, so he changed direction and instead of returning to the compound, rode his bicycle towards the suburbs.
As Su Tian hummed the song, she thought of her parents in her future life. The more she hummed, the more she thought about it. She had liked this song ever since she watched the movie.
When she got home, she forced her father to teach her to sing, since her father knew Korean.
Su Tian thought about it while tears streamed down her face, even though she had lived through the cruel apocalypse.
But deep down, a soft and tender corner of her heart still longed for her parents. Sadly, she could never go back…
Su Tian hummed it over and over again, and before long, Song Zhe had ridden his bike to the outskirts of the city.
He braced his feet on the bicycle, listening quietly as Su Tian hummed it over and over again.
Seeing her cry, he felt a sharp pain in his heart, and he felt extremely distressed.
Song Zhe looked at the girl in front of him with deep affection. Her beautiful eyes were red from crying. He finally couldn't help but reach out and hug Su Tian.
"What happened to you? Don't cry, okay? It hurts me to see you like this." Song Zhe hugged Su Tian tightly and coaxed her softly.
Su Tian nestled in Song Zhe's arms and finally burst into tears.
