Chapter 55 Song Zhe and Su Tian's Second Encounter

"Second brother, I haven't cooked yet, why don't you go and cook?"

"What? You're home all day long and haven't cooked a meal yet?" Brother Zou asked.

“I’m exhausted from taking care of your precious son, how am I supposed to cook? I’m running around here and there all day long, without stopping.”

"Alright, alright, I'll cook. You play with them first."

My in-laws happened to go back to their hometown to visit relatives yesterday, and coincidentally, my father sent his sister over to take care of the child.

At 7 p.m., Ye Mei returned home and discovered that her sister-in-law had come.

Her husband was busy in the kitchen, and she was rushing home from get off work because she had to work overtime.

"Yingzi, what brings you here?" Ye Mei asked curiously.

Her sister-in-law had always disliked her, and the two of them disliked each other.

So I found her arrival very strange.

"Oh, my dad asked me to come and help you take care of the kids, so I came."

"Oh, thank you for your trouble, Yingzi," Ye Mei said politely.

"It's a real hassle. He's already three years old and still so disobedient. He has to finish all of everyone else's food before he'll eat it all. He's such a glutton," Zou Daying said bluntly.

Ye Mei looked at her son, tears still welling up in her eyes, and asked worriedly, "Lele, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"

Zou Lele said in a tearful voice, "My aunt took my osmanthus cake and wouldn't let me eat it."

“What do you mean I won’t give you any? You’ve already had one piece, and you still want more? Dream on! I’m not going to give you that much,” Zou Daying retorted.

Ye Mei felt a little angry when she heard Zou Daying say that: "The aunt won't even give her nephew an extra piece of pastry. She's so stingy."

"Lele, be good. If you eat too much, your teeth will fall out. What will you do if you don't have teeth to eat meat?" Ye Mei coaxed him.

"Okay, I'll listen to Mom. I'm going to eat lots of meat later."

"Okay, sweetie, sit here and play for a while while Daddy cooks dinner."

After soothing the child, Ye Mei went to the kitchen to help her husband cook.

Zou Daying also went back to her room to lie down. After taking care of the child all day, she felt physically and mentally exhausted. She missed her beloved Chen Gang.

She wondered if he missed her while he was in the village. The thought filled her with sweetness, and she couldn't help but smile.
