Chapter 56 The First Encounter Between the Two

Chen Gang returned to the educated youth settlement in a huff and saw He Hua eating porridge in the kitchen.

Unable to resist asking, "He Hua, is there any more food?"

He Hua ignored him and continued eating the porridge in her hand.

Seeing this, Chen Gang said nothing more and turned back to his room.

Knowing that Zhao Liguo had food, he took out a few cents and bought some pastries from him, along with a bowl of water, which was enough to fill his stomach.

"Why don't you cook rice? Will this fill you up?" Zhao Liguo asked curiously.

"Oh, I got back late today and didn't have time to cook."

Zhao Liguo didn't ask any more questions and prepared to take his clothes to shower and go to bed.

He Hua felt very wronged when she saw Chen Gang return to his room and not ask her a single question.

She quickly finished her porridge and prepared to go find Song Weiguang to see if he sold any date rape drugs on the black market.

If not, she planned to buy two bottles of wine to get him drunk.

After finishing her meal, He Hua went out again to the village chief's house to find Song Weiguang.

It was already pitch black when she arrived at the village chief's house. It was quiet all around.

The village chief and his wife were talking in the courtyard the whole time; she couldn't hear his voice and didn't dare to call out.

Unable to find Song Weiguang, she could only return to the educated youth settlement in disappointment.

It seems she'll have to go to town tomorrow.

Zhou Man, who shared a room with He Hua, saw He Hua go out and come back, glanced at her, and then continued doing her own thing.

She took out her clothes and soap, intending to take a bath after Liu Hongying boiled the water.

He Hua was very jealous when she saw this soap, which was not even available in Guangdong Province. She thought that she would be able to use it in the future. When she became an official's wife, she could have anything.

At nine o'clock in the evening, He Hua lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.

Her mind was filled with Chen Gang's indifference towards her, and the more she thought about it, the angrier she became. She decided that she must make Chen Gang fall in love with her.

Thinking about it for so long, I got so angry that I fell asleep.

Su Tian waited in the room until the people at the educated youth settlement fell asleep.

By 10 p.m., the educated youth settlement was completely silent.

She gently opened the door, put the bicycle parked in the corner into the space, and leaped over the courtyard wall.

She found a secluded corner and disguised herself as a man, covering her face with so much makeup that even her own mother wouldn't recognize her.

He took out his bicycle from his storage space and rode it to town without stopping.

Upon arriving in town, she packed up her bicycle and quietly headed towards a secluded alley.

She walked to a somewhat dilapidated house, looked around to make sure no one was there, and then climbed over the wall to enter.

Once inside the courtyard, Su Tian walked into a dark room with practiced ease.

Suddenly, Su Tian noticed a figure in the corner. She quickly stepped forward, pulled out a machete from her spatial storage, and raised the machete to slash at the person.

However, just as the knife tip was about to touch the person, Su Tian suddenly felt a powerful force pulling her backward.

She struggled, but the force grew stronger and stronger until it finally took complete control of her.

"Who is it?" a deep male voice rang out. Su Tian was startled. She struggled to break free from her restraints, turned around, and ran out of the house.

She recognized the man's voice; it was deep and magnetic.

Song Zhe quickly caught up, and the two began to fight. Su Tian immediately threw the knife to the ground.

In an instant, Song Zhe pounced like a cheetah, his fist whistling as it aimed straight for his opponent's face. The other man remained calm, dodging to the side and sweeping his leg across, creating a gust of wind.

Back and forth they went, each punch landing with a visceral impact, every collision seemingly sparking a burst of energy.

Amidst the intertwined figures, it was impossible to discern who had the upper hand; only muffled groans and rapid breathing could be heard.

Suddenly, while Su Tian was catching her breath, Song Zhe grabbed her hand with one hand and casually put his other arm around her waist.

He was taken aback. How could it be so soft and thin?

He held Su Tian tightly, his other hand gripping her hands firmly.

Unable to break free, Su Tian had no choice but to say, "Let me go."

Song Zhe was taken aback: No wonder her waist was so soft and slender, it was her.

He quickly pulled her to hide in a corner, saying, "It's me, don't struggle, I recognize you." He then immediately let go of Su Tian.

"There's no one in this courtyard right now, so let's talk first."

"What do you want to talk about?" Su Tian asked, looking at him.

"How did you end up here? I've seen you exchange blows with me for several moves. Just who are you?"

"Don't ask me yet, can I ask you a question?"

"Yes, go ahead and ask."

"Are you a soldier? Are you here to investigate a case?"

"I'm a soldier, and the rest is confidential; I can't tell you."

"How did you discover this courtyard?" Su Tian asked Song Zhe.

"My investigation ended here. The walls around here are all broken, and this courtyard is the only one that's not too bad."

"Besides, the lock on this door is new, and no one lives inside. Why would they use a new lock? So I came to investigate."

Su Tian listened thoughtfully, then looked at him with wide eyes: "Have you found any clues?"

"I hadn't been inside long when I noticed some noise outside the door," Song Zhe said sarcastically.

"Let's go look for it together now. I'll explain everything to you in detail once we're out of this courtyard, okay?"

Looking into Su Tian's clear eyes, Song Zhe felt a slight unease, but he suppressed it and said, "Okay."

The two of them went to the room to search for any secret rooms or dungeons.

Suddenly, Su Tian accidentally bumped into the corner of the table with a cracking sound.
