Chapter 58 First Time Spending the Night Out

Song Zhe carried the wooden bucket into the bathroom, took out the voice recorder from his pocket, looked at it for a while, put it aside, took off his clothes, and then took a shower.

After washing up and getting dressed, he put the voice recorder back in his pocket.

Seeing that Song Zhe had finished washing up, Lu Xiao asked him, "Shall we sleep together tonight?"

Song Zhe glanced at him, said nothing, and sat on Lu Xiao's bed.

Lu Yu immediately moved in a little, and seeing that he didn't say anything, he immediately lay down, closed his eyes, and went to sleep.

Song Zhe was still thinking about everything he had seen that night. After a while, he also lay down.

Song Zhe and Lu Yu got up at seven o'clock in the morning. Soldiers usually get up very early, so today was considered late.

He went out of his room and saw that the door was still closed, so he went to the bathroom to wash up. Then the two of them quickly went to the police station to deal with what happened last night.

He went to his office, made a phone call, and reported what had happened the night before to his superiors, asking them to send someone to escort the goods.

Afterwards, I went with Lu Yu to the state-run restaurant for breakfast.

"Why didn't you call me when you went out to investigate last night?" Lu Xiao asked.

"I just have doubts about that place; it would be more convenient for me to be alone."

Song Zhe first went to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy Su Tian a toothbrush, toothpaste, a cup, and a towel. Afterward, the two walked towards the state-run restaurant.

Upon entering the state-run restaurant, Song Zhe went to the service counter and ordered a bowl of lean pork rice noodles, a bowl of white porridge, ten meat buns, and two servings of soy milk.

After Song Zhe finished ordering, he asked Lu Yu to order his own, and then found an empty seat to sit down.

Lu Yu looked at his brother in confusion. They ordered so much, yet none of it was for him. When did he become so stingy?

He ordered his own portion, took out his money and ticket from his pocket, and handed them to the waiter.

Then he sat down next to Song Zhe and asked softly, "Do you eat that much by yourself? Your appetite has increased so much in just one night?"

"No, it was ordered for someone else."

"Who is sleeping in your room? You won't even let me sleep in your bed, even though we've been playing together since we were little."

"Don't ask anymore, breakfast is here, hurry up and eat and go back."

They brought breakfast to the table, and Song Zhe asked the waiter for a penny to buy a takeout box. He put the rice noodles in the takeout box, set it aside, and then sat down to eat the congee.

Lu Yu watched his brother do all this silently, and he felt that his brother had changed a bit.

Song Zhe handed Lu Yu two meat buns, and after they finished eating, Song Zhe carried the packaged rice noodles, several meat buns, and a cup of soy milk back to his residence.

After walking for about a few minutes, they returned to their lodgings.

Lu Yu opened the courtyard gate and went inside, only to find that his brother's room door was still closed.

"Hey, it's almost 8:30, and your roommate is still not up?"

Seeing that his room door was still closed, Song Zhe placed his toothbrush and other items along with breakfast on the table in the main room and sat down to wait for Su Tian to get up.

Lu Yu sat down beside him, extremely curious about who this extraordinary person was who could sleep in his brother's bed.

Before long, Su Tian woke up. She lay in bed for a while before she came to her senses.

She slept soundly through the night in his bed, and when she looked at her watch, she realized it was already 8:30 in the morning.

Fortunately, it's the weekend, so she doesn't have to go to school.

She touched her hair, then got up, put on her shoes, folded the blanket neatly, and put it aside. She didn't know how to fold it into a square; she had never learned.

She folded the blankets and opened the door. Song Zhe heard the door open and came out of the main room. Instantly, their eyes met:

Song Zhe noticed that Su Tian's long, waterfall-like hair was casually draped over her shoulders, the smooth strands dancing gently in the breeze, making her appear exceptionally languid, showing no trace of the ruthless and cold-hearted person she had been the night before.

She didn't seem to be wearing this outfit last night. Where did she get these clothes in the middle of the night? Why is she being so mysterious?

Su Tian opened her clear eyes and looked at Song Zhe.

Lu Yu then realized that it was the girl he had met briefly at the state-run restaurant before.

Song Zhe walked over to Su Tian and handed her the toothbrush and toothpaste: "Get up, here's the toothbrush and toothpaste, wash up first."

Su Tian opened the bag and glanced inside. There was a toothbrush, toothpaste, a cup, and a towel. She thought to herself, "This man is quite thoughtful."

Then, Su Tian looked at Song Zhe, smiled, and thanked him.

Looking at Su Tianxiao's sweet smile, Song Zhe was momentarily distracted.

So she could smile after all. He had always thought she was expressionless, just like him.

Su Tian took her toiletries to the shower room to wash up. Watching Su Tian walk away, Lu Yu quietly asked Song Zhe, "Why are you with her?"

"I met her on the street last night. It was late at night, and it wasn't safe, so I brought her here."

"Then why didn't you take her to the guesthouse? You brought her here specifically."

"You talk too much." Song Zhe glanced at him, then turned and went back into the main room.

"Hmph, no wonder you brought that girl back after only meeting her twice, and she even slept in your bed. There's definitely something going on between you two," Lu Yu muttered to himself.

Song Zhe went to the main room, grabbed a clothes rack, and handed it to Su Tian. Su Tian took it and hung the towel on the bamboo pole to dry.

He also took the toothbrush, toothpaste, and cup from Su Tian's hand and placed them on the table in the main room.

Su Tian looked at all this, lowered her head and chuckled. How could this man be so virtuous? Someone who looks cold and ruthless on the outside, is he really so meticulous in his work?

Without thinking much, she went straight to the main room and sat down at the table.
