Everyone saw several large plates of delicious-looking dishes on the table: stir-fried pork belly with winter melon, stir-fried green beans with lean pork, stir-fried pumpkin, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, and a pot of pork rib and white radish soup.
Su Tian said to Song Zhe, "Wait a moment, I'll go to the room and get you some bowls and chopsticks."
She went into the room, took out two new sets of bowls and chopsticks from her storage space, washed them, and handed them to Song Zhe and the others.
"Come on, come on, our head chef has worked hard. Where's your bowl? Let me serve you some soup," Lu Xiao said solicitously.
"No need, I can do it myself. You guys drink the soup first and then eat, so you won't feel thirsty."
Upon hearing this, everyone eagerly began to drink the soup.
Song Zhe took a sip; the soup was really sweet. He then ate a few more bites of vegetables. The flavor suited him perfectly—not too salty or greasy. He didn't like food that was too oily or salty.
"Your cooking is pretty good," Lu Yu said.
"Brother, yes, I've eaten several meals with her. Look at me these days I've been in the countryside, haven't I lost weight?"
That's because I ate at her place. Don't scold me, I helped out, I didn't just freeload.
Seeing Lu Xiao's smug look, Lu Yu wanted to give him a good beating.
Watching the two brothers interact, Su Tian felt they were more and more alike. No wonder they were brothers; their personalities were exactly the same.
Song Zhe ignored the others and ate silently. He drank three bowls of soup and ate three bowls of rice before he was full.
After Chen Gang returned from having a free meal at Zou Daying's place, he suddenly felt angry when he saw Su Tian smiling so happily at those male comrades.
He wanted to wait until the two men left before talking to Su Tian about these things.
Half an hour later, everyone had finished eating, and Lu Xiao and Zhang Shang helped wash the dishes.
Song Zhe called Su Tian to the corner where the woodpile was stored, intending to talk to her about what happened yesterday.
"I've already submitted those blueprints and documents. May I ask: did you put those boxes into your storage bag?"
Su Tian looked at Song Zhe. Since he already knew a little bit, it wouldn't hurt to tell him a little bit.
She smiled and said, "Yes, it's something like a magic bag. Fifteen boxes of things, plus the radio, are all inside. I'll go with you sometime when you move them."
"That gun and the recording pen don't belong to this era, do they?"
"No, neither."
"Does anyone else know about this?" Song Zhe asked with concern.
"No, only you and Lu Yu know a little bit."
"Then you must keep it a secret and not tell anyone."
Now that you know so much, can I tell you about it later?
Seeing the trust in Su Tian's eyes, Song Zhe nodded. "I won't tell anyone. This concerns your safety. Are you a reclusive master?"
Su Tian hesitated for a moment, then decided not to reveal her background. She didn't dare to gamble, and she was also afraid that others wouldn't accept it.
"Actually, you can also think of me as a hermit master. Masters always have all sorts of magic weapons."
Song Zhe looked at Su Tian gently, "You're such a master, I'm so envious."
Su Tian smiled and whispered to him, "If you need to move or steal things from those bad people, no matter how much, you can come to me for help."
Looking at the playful Su Tian, Song Zhe said, "Okay, since you have such a big secret, you must protect yourself. I won't ask any more questions. However, you must be careful and never let anyone discover your secret."
Su Tian looked at Song Zhe gratefully, "Thank you for reminding me, I will pay attention. If there's anything I can help you with, please don't hesitate to ask."
The two chatted for a while longer, and Su Tian felt more and more that Song Zhe was a trustworthy person. He lived up to his military title, and perhaps she could tell him more things in the future.
When they had finished chatting, Su Tian said, "I don't have class this afternoon, so how about I come to your place now and release the things?"
"If it's convenient for you, you can leave now."
"Okay, I'll pack up. Can you put my bike on your bike for me? I'll ride it back myself later."
Su Tian gave Song Zhe some instructions, then quickly returned to her room, grabbed a small backpack, and went out.
Song Zhe pushed the bicycle out and put it on the jeep, then called Lu Yu. Lu Xiao and Zhang Shang then saw them to the door. Song Zhe looked at them with teary eyes. He wanted to go with them, but he had to go to work in the afternoon.
"Hey bro, stop joking around. I'll come see you again next time and bring you something delicious," Lu Yu teased Lu Xiao.
Chen Gang stood at the doorway, watching Su Tian walk away. He was still thinking of giving Su Tian a lecture on how to keep her distance from men!
Who knew she would leave with them? When she comes back, he'll definitely stop her and make her explain.
He Hua watched Su Tian's departing figure, her heart filled with insane jealousy. She thought to herself: "That promiscuous slut Su Tian, she seduces one man after another. Not only did she seduce the new male educated youth, but she also seduced the military officer outside."
Hmph, I'll make sure your family teaches you a lesson and writes a letter to your parents about your Pan Jinlian-like behavior.
She stormed back to her room, spent a dime to buy an envelope and a piece of stationery from Liu Hongying. Once she got the stationery, she quickly began writing, embellishing her story with fabricated tales.
Su Tian was unaware that He Hua had written letters to her parents complaining about her behind her back. If she had known, she would have dragged He Hua out and beaten her in the middle of the night.
After she finished writing the letter, she put it under her pillow, thinking she would find some time to go to town and mail it.
The more she thought about it, the more smug she became, eagerly waiting to see Su Tian make a fool of herself.
