"I still have a few food coupons on me. Let's go buy some steamed buns first, and then come back for braised pork at noon."
“Okay, let’s go get the money first,” He Hua replied.
The two went to the post office together. He Hua took the money order and received the money.
She pulled Chen Gang to a corner, and seeing that no one was around, she quickly divided the money into four portions, stuffing five ten-yuan bills under each of her socks.
Then, I opened the outer clothes and found a small pocket in the inner vest. I stuffed five more bills in there, and put the remaining five bills into the four pockets of the pants.
Chen Gang was stunned by He Hua's actions.
So women are really good at hiding money? No wonder he couldn't find any money left under her pillow and mat.
"Why hide such a small amount of money like this?" Chen Gang was puzzled.
“Brother Chen Gang, you don’t understand. It’s safer to leave it like this. What if someone sees me when I’m withdrawing money and steals it?” He Hua explained earnestly.
Chen Gang saw that she had hidden the money, and then went to the state-run restaurant and bought four white steamed buns, two for each of them.
After they finished eating, He Hua suggested, "Why don't we go to the black market? You don't need tickets to buy things there."
"Do you know where the black market is?" He Hua shook her head.
"Let's wander around first, just in case we find a black market," Chen Gang continued.
The two deliberately chose to walk through secluded alleys, turning and twisting, but they couldn't find the black market.
"Could it be that this isn't the right direction? Let's go check somewhere else," He Hua said, looking troubled.
"Okay, let's go."
Just as Chen Gang finished speaking and was about to walk out of the alley, three thugs suddenly appeared in front of them, blocking their way.
Chen Gang and He Hua felt a chill run down their spines. What were these three people up to?
"Brother, move aside, we want to get out." Chen Gang said when he saw that things were not going well.
"Yes, brother, we have urgent business, please let us through," He Hua said fearfully.
"Hey, young lady, what's the matter? Can you tell us brothers?" one of the crooked-mouthed young men said in a sleazy tone.
Seeing that things were getting out of hand, Chen Gang immediately shouted, "Please move aside, or I'll call the police."
“Go ahead and report it. Can’t you see there’s no one here? How are you going to report it? We won’t let you through, so you can’t report it,” another squinty-eyed thug said fiercely.
"So what do you want to do?" Chen Gang asked, staring at them.
"We're just after your money, we won't hurt you. If you don't take it, don't blame us," the last skinny, short thug said viciously.
"Okay, let us out of this alley first, then we'll give you a spot on the main road outside." Chen Gang tried to stall them.
"Fine, I doubt you'd dare lie to us."
Chen Gang led He Hua ahead, while three thugs who had been robbing people walked behind them.
As soon as they stepped out of the alley, Chen Gang grabbed He Hua and ran desperately toward the main road.
"They dared to mess with us, brothers, catch them!" the short, skinny thug said menacingly.
