Chapter 55 President Mu's Confession Fails
“Chichi…”
Song Chi and Mu Yin kissed for an unknown amount of time before finally separating. Even now, as Mu Yin held her, he could still feel his heart beating unusually fast.
Mu Yin called her name in a low, hoarse voice.
Song Chi's heart raced, and her voice was soft and sweet: "Uncle, what's wrong..."
Could it be that he still wants to kiss her?
Recalling that kiss, which lasted for more than half an hour, he might have continued if she hadn't almost fainted and begged for mercy!
Song Chi thought to himself, "How come this uncle is so skilled? Is he very experienced?"
For a moment, Song Chi felt a pang of sadness!
Reason told her that the older man might have needs, and as his legal wife, she should comply with him. However, on an emotional level, she was very concerned about whether the older man's kiss was out of affection or need.
For a moment, Song Chi's feelings were complicated.
"Chichi, I..."
Mu Yin's voice was hoarse; he wanted to say, "I like you!"
However, worried that he might frighten her, he stopped himself from speaking.
"Um?"
Song Chi looked at Mu Yin with a puzzled expression.
Mu Yin, who was fearless, was suddenly a little scared. He took a few deep breaths and mustered his courage to speak.
"Chichi, I like..." you.
He hadn't had a chance to say the last two words.
There was a knock on the door, interrupting him.
Mu Yin's hard-won courage was completely destroyed by this interruption.
Song Chi sensed that the uncle was acting strangely, as if he had something very important to say to her.
However, the knocking on the door became even more urgent.
Song Chi's attention was diverted, and he didn't think much about what his expression was like.
She called out, "Who is it?"
Song Yulan's voice came from outside the door: "Chichi, it's me!"
"Auntie? I'm here!"
Song Chi had sent the address to Song Yulan earlier, so she assumed that Song Yulan was coming to help make handmade jewelry. Song Chi quickly got up to open the door.
The moment she left.
President Mu let out a series of silent screams, feeling a frantic outburst of frustration at himself, his face a mixture of tension and regret.
He looked particularly comical at that moment.
If his friends or subordinates saw this side of the perpetually icy man, they would be absolutely shocked!
Song Chi sensed something was wrong and turned to look at him.
When President Mu saw him turn around out of the corner of her eye, her heart skipped a beat. The next moment, President Mu sat up straight and gave her a standard smile.
Song Chi thought to himself: That's strange, why is the uncle laughing for no reason? And why does his laugh look so fake!
Seeing Song Chi looking at him with a probing gaze, Mu Yin felt a moment of guilt in his eyes.
"Chichi, you sit down, I'll go open the door."
He got up and offered his services.
Song Chi was almost at the door by now.
She quickly replied, "No need, I'll do it."
Song Chi went to open the door.
Mu Yin breathed a huge sigh of relief. He clutched his heart, which was pounding incredibly fast. It wasn't just because he was attracted to Song Chi, but also because he felt guilty, like he was about to be caught red-handed.
He had never felt this way before; his emotions were like a rollercoaster, going up and down.
As soon as Song Chi opened the door, he saw that Song Yulan's eyes were red.
"Auntie, what's wrong? Have you been crying? What happened?"
With Li Chengwei detained, who else would dare to bully her?
Song Yulan, her eyes red, shook her head: "Chichi, I'm fine. It's Bowen. I did something wrong. I wanted to discipline him strictly, but I didn't expect him to swear and even try to hit me..."
"He's only twelve years old, and he's just like his dad—exactly the same temper and character..."
The more Song Yulan spoke, the more heartbroken she became.
Song Chi felt a pang of heartache and reached out to pull her into his arms.
"aunt……"
She called her softly, but she didn't know how to say the words of comfort. She could only use a hug and a pat on the back to ease her grief.
Song Yulan, already feeling wronged, burst into tears as she was held in her arms.
She started crying.
Song Chi gently coaxed, "Auntie, it's alright, cry it out, you'll feel better after you've cried..."
Song Yulan cried a few times and then discovered that Mu Yin was also in the room.
Mu Yin stood not far away, watching this scene with mixed feelings.
Song Yulan made herself a burden between Song Chi and Mu Yin because of her disheveled appearance. She tried her best to suppress her emotions, wiped away her tears, and smiled.
"Chichi, thank you, I'm alright now."
"Look, you asked me to help you make handmade jewelry, and it's already 3 pm. I still have to learn how to do it. Is there still enough time?"
"Auntie, we still have time, let's go in."
As Song Yulan was speaking, Xu Yue passed by behind her.
She was about to go home, but when she heard Song Yulan say, "I'll make you some handmade jewelry," she paused and looked over.
Song Chi also saw her and smiled politely at her.
Xu Yue smiled as well.
The neighbors have been relatively quiet these past few days, and Xu Yue's complexion looks much better.
After the two greeted each other, Song Chi closed the door.
Song Chi led Song Yulan into the house.
When Song Yulan saw Mu Yin, she gave an awkward smile: "Mr. Mu, I'm sorry, you must have found this embarrassing."
Mu Yin said sincerely, "Auntie, that's not true. You and Chichi do it first, I'll go cut some fruit and make some desserts for you."
Song Chi smiled slightly: "Uncle, thank you."
"Of course."
The two exchanged a smile, and it was unclear whose mind was wandering; their eyes were both drooping, one's pretty face slightly flushed, and the other's ears turning bright red.
Song Yulan glanced at Mu Yin for a while, then at Song Chi.
She covered her mouth and chuckled.
Although she has never experienced being in a relationship, she has watched a lot of idol dramas.
The way Song Chi and Mu Yin looked at each other and the atmosphere they exuded was just like the male and female leads in an idol drama, radiating an ambiguous aura.
Mu Yin turned and went to the kitchen.
Song Chi stared at her retreating figure, a smile playing on his lips.
Song Yulan whispered, "Chichi, did I interrupt your good time?"
"Wh...what good news is it...?"
"Chichi, your aunt has been through this before. How could I not see what's going on between you two?"
"Chichi, he's so good to you, he must like you, right?"
Song Chi recalled the kiss from earlier, and then the words Mu Yin hadn't said.
He said he just said "I like..."
What do you like?
Did the older man just try to confess his feelings to her?
In an instant, Song Chi's heart pounded wildly. She covered her flushed face, too ashamed to lift her head.
All afternoon, Song Chi felt uneasy as Mu Yin brought them fruit and chatted with them. She was filled with anticipation, nervousness, and even a little fear, and dared not look Mu Yin in the eye.
Time flew by and it was already past five in the afternoon.
Mu Yin went out, and before leaving, he repeatedly told her not to overwork herself.
Not long after, Song Chi also went out arm in arm with Song Yulan.
Song Chi saw Song Yulan off to her car and watched her aunt's taxi drive away before turning to leave. However, the moment she turned, someone suddenly hugged her tightly from behind.
A sinister voice rang out: "Little girl, guess who I am?"
