Chapter 72 Song Chi's Daily Pampering

Chapter 72 Song Chi's Daily Pampering

"What...school bullying? Robbery?...How could this be..."

Upon hearing this, Song Yulan turned pale and swayed.

"Auntie, be careful!"

Song Chi helped her up in time, preventing her from falling to the ground.

Song Yulan lay paralyzed beside Song Chi, clutching her chest, her face filled with regret and tears.

Mu Yin didn't actually have much sympathy for Song Yulan's plight; he cared more about Song Chi's feelings.

Seeing Song Chi supporting Song Yulan, Mu Yin worried that she might not be able to withstand such a great deal of strength.

He put his arms around her shoulders, silently giving her support.

Song Chi felt his care and looked at him.

Their eyes met, and though they didn't speak, they seemed to know what the other was thinking.

After a while, Song Chi looked over there.

Several police officers had already taken Li Bowen into custody. Li Bowen looked unwilling and struggled desperately.

"Let me go... So what if I bullied someone at school? Who told them to look down on me? My dad taught me that if someone looks down on me, I'll beat them up until they submit to me..."

He started cursing and saying a lot of nasty things.

A crowd of onlookers gathered around, and everyone shook their heads with pity when they saw a twelve-year-old boy utter such offensive words.

"Such a young child, uttering such foul language and doing such outrageous things, his life is ruined..."

"As the saying goes, if the upper beam is crooked, the lower beam will be crooked too. He became like this because of his abusive father..."

"The police officers should arrest him and take him to a juvenile detention center to give him a good talking-to!"

"Li Bowen, behave yourself and come with us for the investigation!"

The police escorted Li Bowen into the police car.

Li Bowen was still somewhat guilty. When he saw Song Yulan not far away, he started cursing.

"Hey, you damn woman, what are you looking at? Hurry up and save me..."

Song Yulan covered her face and burst into tears.

Song Chi had reached his limit!

She handed Song Yulan to Mu Yin and walked towards Li Bowen.

"Song Chi, you bitch, you can come and save me... ah..."

Before he could finish speaking, Song Chi slapped him hard across the face.

In an instant, five finger marks appeared on Li Bowen's face!

"You dare hit me!"

"Li Bowen, you're a bastard, you deserve to be beaten!"

As he spoke, Song Chi turned his gaze toward the police.

"Officer, we are willing to compensate the victim for his losses. There's no need for further negotiation; let's proceed directly with the legal process and file a lawsuit against him!"

The police officer nodded: "Okay, could someone please come over here to take a statement?"

Song Chi frowned slightly.

She doesn't have time to go to the police station right now, and Song Yulan is heartbroken and can't go either.

Song Chi's gaze unconsciously drifted towards Mu Yin.

Mu Yin gave her a reassuring smile.

Then, he looked at the police officer with a serious expression.

"Officer, our people will be at the police station shortly to discuss this."

"OK."

The police nodded, took down their contact information, then escorted Li Bowen into the car and drove away.

As the crowd dispersed, Song Yulan covered her face and wept bitterly, her cries heart-wrenching.

Song Chi gently stroked her back with his palm.

"Auntie...don't cry...I'm sorry, I made the decision on my own to have the police prosecute him according to procedure. Li Bowen might go to jail. Will you blame me?"

Song Yulan cried for a long time before finally sobbing.

“Chichi… I don’t blame you… A child is born into this world as a blank slate. It’s my fault. If I were even slightly more capable, I wouldn’t have raised him like this…”

Song Yulan clutched her heart, heartbroken.

"Chichi, tell me, if I had mustered up the courage to divorce Li Chengwei a few years ago, and I had been the one to raise him, would things have turned out differently?"

Song Chi lowered his eyes and remained silent.

Song Yulan gave a bitter laugh.

"In this world, there are no 'what ifs.' What's done is done, and there's no way to change it..."

Seeing her so heartbroken, Song Chi felt very sad. She wanted to comfort her, but Song Yulan probably wouldn't listen to any words of comfort at this moment.

After a long pause, Song Chi said, "Aunt, what's done is done. All we can do is let you live your life well, look forward, and things will definitely get better in the future..."

Song Yulan was crying so hard she was almost exhausted; she was so heartbroken that she couldn't hear any words of comfort.

She kept saying things like, "It's my fault, I'm no good."

Upon seeing this, Song Chi felt a pang of sadness.

Mu Yin felt a pang of heartache when he saw the tears welling up in her eyes.

He suggested, "Chichi, let's take your aunt home first!"

"good."

The group got into the car, and Mu Yin drove Song Yulan to their home.

Song Yulan was still crying on the way.

Song Chi held her, silently comforting her.

While the car was on the road, waiting at a traffic light, Mu Yin sent a message to Ye Xiu, asking him to go to the police station to deal with Li Bowen's matter.

He specifically instructed that Li Bowen must be punished this time.

A moment later, the group returned home.

Song Chi let her aunt sleep on her bed and covered her with blankets.

She said softly, "Aunt, don't think so much. Leave everything else to us. You should rest well. If you need anything, just let us know."

Song Yulan nodded weakly.

Song Chi quietly walked out of the room.

Song Chi sat on the sofa and tossed and turned for a while, then felt a sharp pain in her back and waist.

She had just rubbed her shoulders when Mu Yin came over again and handed her a cup of warm water.

"Chichi, you've been busy all morning. Have some hot water and some snacks."

Mu Yin's voice was gentle as water, and Song Chi felt a warmth in his heart.

"Uncle, I'm making a fool of myself in front of you again. Don't you think my family is a hassle?"

Song Chi knew that if it were any other man, he would probably have lost patience long ago. She looked at Mu Yin expectantly, and although she trusted him, she was still a little worried that he might get impatient.

Mu Yin gently ruffled her hair: "Don't overthink it. I won't mind if you cause me trouble!"

Song Chi breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a warmth in her heart. She took the water glass and placed it on the table.

Then, she put her arms around Mu Yin's neck and kissed him on the cheek.

"Uncle, thank you so much! It's so good to have you!"

Mu Yin enjoyed Song Chi's embrace, grinning foolishly, feeling extremely happy.

"Silly girl, why are you thanking me again..."

Song Chi playfully stuck out his tongue.

Upon seeing this, Mu Yin's gaze suddenly turned deep and his Adam's apple bobbed.

After a long pause, he said in a hoarse voice, "Chichi, don't forget you're pregnant. Eat something to fill your stomach!"

"good."

Song Chi grinned as he drank the water Mu Yin handed him and ate some snacks.

These snacks were bought by Mu Yin.

He was worried she would get hungry quickly, so he went to a baby store to buy the safest food.

Song Chi felt a sweet sensation in his mouth and a sweet feeling in his heart.

Mu Yin knew she was tired, so he came up behind her and massaged her shoulders.

Song Chi was surprised: "Uncle, you can give massages too?"

"Hmm, how is it? Does it feel good?"

"Comfortable."

Song Chi's smile widened. Unbeknownst to her, she was being pampered by Mu Yin, and her complexion was rosy.

"Uncle, after what happened, Auntie probably won't be in the mood to make jewelry. Let her stay at our house for the next few days, so I can take care of her."

"good."

Mu Yin agreed without hesitation.

Then he asked, "What about your jewelry? Can you still make it today? Can you still set up your stall tonight?"
