Chapter 20 Kid, why are you taking advantage of me?
Do they want to make the whole world go crazy too?
She really hoped it was someone with the same name, however—
Ying Zijing's gaze shifted downwards, landing on the name following the column for the first principal, and then her expression remained blank.
It really is that madman.
When we first met, I even wanted to dissect her mental illness.
Wen Tinglan noticed the subtle change in the girl's expression: "Sister?"
Ying Zijing snapped out of her reverie, her expression slightly complicated: "Which major do you want to study at Norton University?"
If she remembered correctly, when she was at Norton University, there were only majors like theology, spiritualism, paranormal studies, and alchemy, which was quite different from other universities.
The thinking of a madman is truly incomprehensible to normal people.
Wen Tinglan shook her head and said indifferently, "I'll just think about it; I can't get in anyway."
Unlike other universities, Norton University does not have exams or consider Gaokao scores. Only a recommendation letter sent directly by the university can qualify you for initial admission.
In other words, even if someone is the top scorer in China's college entrance examination or gets a perfect score on the SAT, they won't get in without a letter of recommendation.
No one knows exactly what Norton University's admission criteria are, let alone what kind of students it admits each year.
Even so, Norton University still maintains its top ranking, surpassing other universities.
“If you want to go, then you can go.” Ying Zijing pondered for a moment. “Nothing is impossible.”
But if it's about studying theology, then forget it.
Thinking of this, she looked down at the Norton University encyclopedia entry again, and after confirming that the school had normal majors such as physics, mathematics and mechanics, she felt relieved.
Wen Tinglan tightened her jaw, her lips pressed together, and she clenched her fingers: "Sister, if you come back from Shanghai, I can support you and Dad."
He sensed that his sister had changed. She used to be quiet and reserved, but she wasn't as indifferent as she was now, as if nothing could shake her anymore.
What exactly did the winners do?
"That's a long way off, we'll talk about it after you graduate from university." Ying Zijing said languidly. "I came back this time also thinking of bringing you to Shanghai."
Wen Tinglan's eyes turned cold again, and she pressed down her lips: "I'm not going."
He hated Shanghai and those people.
"Okay, let's discuss it when we get back."
The siblings walked towards home one after the other. When they were still a few steps away from the yard, a delicious aroma wafted from afar.
After Ying Zijing pushed open the door, she looked up and stopped in her tracks.
In the kitchen, a tall and slender familiar figure came into view.
The man, seemingly oblivious to what he was doing, lowered his head.
Her peach blossom eyes were slightly raised, their light flickering, gentle and affectionate.
"Yaoyao, you brought guests back without saying a word?" Wen Fengmian was washing his hands when he heard this and turned around. "I didn't prepare anything."
Ying Zijing paused for a moment, then rubbed her head: "I forgot."
It wasn't that she forgot; she was thinking that he was a pampered young master and might not be able to stand this kind of environment, so she specially booked the best hotel in the county for him.
Unexpectedly, he followed us here and was even cooking.
“Uncle, it’s not her fault.” Fu Yunshen came out of the kitchen, revealing half of his body. “I insisted on coming myself. I was being presumptuous.”
Ying Zijing glanced up and saw the Peppa Pig apron the man was wearing: "..."
Fu Yunshen noticed her gaze, looked up, and smiled, "Why are you staring at your brother again? Is he handsome?"
"ugly."
It became even more ruthless.
"Yaoyao, how can you talk like that?" Wen Fengmian coughed a few times, covering his mouth with his fist. "Isn't this your favorite cartoon character?"
"Your favorite?" Fu Yunshen raised an eyebrow and glanced down at the cartoon character on the apron.
Peppa Pig?
She has a rather adorable eye for taste.
"..." Ying Zijing remained expressionless. "I don't like it anymore."
It's a bit hard to accept that she would like this kind of thing before she was fully awake; it's not in her nature.
Wen Tinglan glanced at the Peppa Pig apron and her brow twitched: "Dad, how many years ago was this?"
Although his sister once saved up money to buy a pig doll, she couldn't sleep without hugging it.
Wen Fengmian just smiled: "No matter how many years pass, Dad will remember."
He seemed to remember something, looked at the boy, and frowned: "Yuyu, your sister is back, why are you running away?"
"I..." Wen Tinglan was about to answer, but then stopped.
You can't exactly say that he turned and left because he was resentful.
Ying Zijing walked into the kitchen and slowly added, "He's shy."
"Shy?" Wen Fengmian asked in surprise, "You weren't shy when you received so many love letters, but you're shy when you see your own sister?"
Wen Tinglan: "..."
He had no choice but to admit, "I haven't seen my sister in a long time."
"You can't run away." Wen Fengmian's smile faded, and he became very serious. "It's so late, what if something happens?"
"No, it won't happen again." Wen Tinglan wasn't one for words. He sat down next to Wen Fengmian, looking at the kitchen with a wary expression. "Who was that?"
The man had a perfect physique, tall and slender, and even wearing a ridiculous apron could not hide his innate nobility.
Broad shoulders and a narrow waist—a natural clothes hanger.
“Mr. Fu is Yaoyao’s friend,” Wen Fengmian explained. “Since no one is home today, he’s spending the Lantern Festival with us.”
Wen Tinglan did not respond. His eyes were lowered, and he remained indifferent and guarded.
“Yuyu, Dad knows you might have some resentment towards Yaoyao.” Wen Fengmian hesitated for a moment before saying, “But after all, you are siblings, and Dad can’t be with you forever.”
"dad."
One word: very cold.
"Alright, alright, I won't say anymore." Wen Fengmian coughed and smiled slightly. "Let's watch the gala."
**
In the kitchen.
Ying Zijing looked at him: "Why did you come here?"
"Hmm?" Fu Yunshen's peach blossom eyes narrowed upon hearing this. "Didn't you promise to take me in? You lied to your brother?"
"No." Ying Zijing squatted down and took the vegetables out of the bag on the ground. "I was afraid of mistreating you."
She can naturally tell who is truly good to her.
There's not much she can do, except treat them better.
"How have you mistreated me?" Fu Yunshen chuckled. "If you hadn't taken me in, I would be homeless today."
Ying Zijing lowered her eyes and didn't ask any further questions: "I'll do it."
We can't expect another guest to do it.
She raised her hand to take the flour from Fu Yunshen's hand, but because he turned around at that moment, her cold fingers accidentally touched the man's lips.
The temperature burned two people at the same time.
Ying Zijing withdrew her hand immediately, her expression unchanged, but her fingertips were still burning hot.
The cramped kitchen was filled with the scent of jade and sandalwood emanating from the man's body.
Taking advantage of his height, Fu Yunshen looked at her from above, his eyes lowered, his tone as nonchalant as ever: "Little girl, why are you getting physical?"
