Chapter 6 Support

Chapter 6 Support

Still unsure of your identity?

The butler grew even more annoyed and spoke again, "Second Miss, you really can't win Madam's favor like this. I think you should..."

He didn't get to finish his sentence.

With a "snap," his wrist was gripped by two slender fingers, preventing him from moving an inch.

The next second, a strong force came, and the butler fell to the ground without warning.

Ying Zijing lowered her eyelashes and said calmly, "I told you to move aside."

The butler raised his head tremblingly, his eyes wide with disbelief.

"Hiss."

Then, in the night, a laugh suddenly rang out, carrying a hint of cynicism, but upon closer listening, it was tinged with a chill.

"I didn't even know until I came back that the servants of the Ying family now dare to order their masters around. Is this how Madam Ying disciplines her?"

The man was tall and slender, also wearing a black shirt with the buttons undone. His skin appeared even whiter and more delicate in the snow, like carved jade or soft porcelain.

Standing under the tree, one becomes a scene in themselves, whose charm and elegance cannot be matched by snow or moonlight.

Ying Zijing withdrew her foot, raised her head, and paused slightly in her gaze: "You haven't left yet?"

"It's a good thing you didn't leave." Fu Yunshen put one hand in his pocket and smiled. "If you left, our little one would be bullied."

A gentle breeze stirred, opening his collar and revealing a small patch of his collarbone, releasing a faint scent of jade and sandalwood.

Calm yet gentle, a fatal temptation.

Ying Zijing paused for a moment: "I can't be bothered with it."

She doesn't like to talk; she'd rather take action than say a word.

"Yeah, I know." Fu Yunshen patted her head. "So I'll take care of it. You just watch from the side."

He turned his head, raised his chin, and still smiled: "Who do you want to apologize to?"

The butler, already stunned by the fall, dared not breathe, his face turning red, then pale, his legs trembling, and he was left kneeling.

Of course he recognized the man who appeared here.

Fu Yunshen, the seventh young master of the Fu family.

The most dissolute playboy in Shanghai, with no ambition whatsoever.

It is said that Fu Yunshen was too unrestrained and offended the heir of a family in the capital, so the Fu family sent him to O Continent overnight.

Why did you suddenly come back?

And why is he so protective of the second young lady?

Are you crazy?

"I'm sorry, Miss." Unable to withstand the pressure, the butler suddenly raised his hand and slapped himself, trembling as he said, "I shouldn't have been disrespectful to you, it's all my fault."

Fu Yunshen ignored him: "Come on, little kid, I'll personally take you in this time."

The butler dared not stop them any longer: "Seventh Young Master, Second Miss, this way please."

While feeling frustrated, he was also relieved, at least his wife wouldn't blame him.

**

The door opened, letting in a blast of cold air, and a layer of frost settled on the luxurious carpet.

The living room on the first floor of the old house was very warm.

A lady sat on the sofa, flipping through a book with elegant posture and every move exuding the air of a noblewoman.

This is Madam Ying, Zhong Manhua, who comes from the Zhong family, one of the four most powerful families in China.

Zhong Manhua heard footsteps but didn't look up, saying indifferently, "Has the Second Miss given in?"

The old house is very well soundproofed; people inside won't hear any noises from outside.

The butler dared not breathe loudly, only whispering, "Madam."

"Hmm?" Zhong Manhua frowned and looked up. "I didn't give in to you..."

She stopped talking when she saw the man.

Zhong Manhua was stunned for a moment before she reacted.

She put down her book, stood up to greet him, and smiled as if she hadn't seen the girl: "So it's Seventh Young Master. I just heard from your father yesterday that you've returned from O Continent. Is there something important that brings you to the Ying family so late?"

The Fu family is the most powerful of the four great families. Even though Fu Yunshen has been away from Shanghai for three years, as long as Old Master Fu is still alive, the Ying family cannot afford to offend them.

"Take the child home." Fu Yunshen said calmly. "I'm worried about her; I'm afraid she'll be bullied."

Zhong Manhua's smile faltered, clearly not expecting such an answer. Her gaze then fell on the girl, and she asked, "What happened?"

The butler quickly gave a brief account of what had happened.

After listening, Zhong Manhua frowned again, took a deep breath, and then smiled: "Seventh Young Master, this is a misunderstanding. I'm sorry to have troubled you to make this trip. Zijing is also my daughter. How could I bear to see her suffer?"

"Is that so?" Fu Yunshen chuckled softly, his posture languid. "That's good. I'm relieved. If Madam Ying treats her adopted daughter this way, it will earn her a reputation for kindness."

Zhong Manhua's expression was rather unpleasant.

These words were clearly sarcastic.

“It’s this servant—” Fu Yun Shen glanced at him lightly and chuckled, “He has some guts.”

The butler's legs went even weaker.

Zhong Manhua's face remained tense, and she did not speak.

“However, as an outsider, it’s not appropriate for me to reprimand the servants on behalf of Madam Ying.” Fu Yunshen ignored her and instead turned his head to wave his phone at the girl, his voice tinged with amusement, “Little girl, I’ve saved your phone number. Feel free to contact me anytime.”

The door was closed again, and the room was deathly silent.

The butler breathed a sigh of relief and kept wiping away his sweat.

"Where did you go?" Zhong Manhua suppressed her anger, managing not to immediately change her expression after Fu Yunshen left. "Luwei said you left the hospital three hours ago. What did you do?"

She ran out alone in the heavy snow. When will she finally be able to stop worrying about us?

They even specially sent someone back to annoy her; they have no manners.

Ying Zijing didn't respond; she yawned instead.

Besides being hungry, she's also feeling sleepy now.

Suddenly becoming a normal person again, she wanted to experience it properly.

Zhong Manhua said coldly, "I'm asking you a question, how can you be so rude?"

Ying Zijing raised her eyes and said calmly, "Why do you bother with a living blood bank?"

Zhong Manhua could hardly believe her ears. Her mind went blank for a moment, and her body trembled violently: "What did you say?"

The butler also looked over in surprise, his face filled with disbelief.

The fact that the Ying family adopted a daughter to serve as Ying Luwei's living blood bank was no secret among the four great families; the entire upper class knew about it.

But nobody cared about it because it wasn't important. People would occasionally talk about it after dinner to add some fun, and the winner didn't think there was anything wrong with it.

But when this ugly truth was so bluntly revealed, Zhong Manhua felt as if all the fig leaves she had carefully covered up had been torn off, leaving her feeling like she had thorns in her back, her blood running cold, and her hands and feet ice-cold.

Zhong Manhua, being from a prestigious family, quickly calmed herself down, her expression softening somewhat, but she still spoke in a commanding tone: "What kind of behavior is this? Hot water is ready for you. Go take a shower first. I have something to say to you in a bit."

The girl yawned again, ignored her, and went upstairs.

Zhong Manhua's face turned ashen, and she slammed the teacup down heavily on the table.

The butler lowered his head, not daring to speak.

"Look at her attitude, and listen to what she's saying!" Zhong Manhua was so angry her heart and lungs ached, but even more so she felt wronged. "Does she think I want her to have her blood drawn? She's my own flesh and blood, how can I not feel sorry for her?"
