Yang Fei naturally heard the sound of the police coming. She didn't relax because of the police's arrival; on the contrary, she became even more nervous.
If the villagers knew the police were coming, they might be taken hostage.
Among them was a pregnant woman who went undercover, and she was even more careful not to expose herself.
The cellar was so quiet that only breathing could be heard. Dinner was brought in from outside; it was just simple fried rice with eggs. However, Yang Fei noticed that Zheng Qianqian had two extra chicken legs in her bowl.
Zheng Qianqian noticed Yang Fei's gaze: "Maybe they're giving me preferential treatment because I'm pregnant."
Yang Fei ate her meal in silence, finding no way to refute Zheng Qianqian's statement.
The others didn't have much of an appetite, but they ate a little bit in order to get out of the house.
The cellar was deathly silent.
Yang Fei's gaze met Zheng Qianqian's probing eyes once again.
Yang Fei asked her, "Why are you staring at me like that?"
"It's nothing, I just feel like you're different from them. You're so quiet right now." Zheng Qianqian touched her stomach, then suddenly looked at Yang Fei, "Do you have any way to get out?"
All eyes immediately turned to Yang Fei.
Yang Fei shook the chains binding her hands and feet: "These chains are solid. We're all tied up here. What way do I have to get out of here?"
"When I came here, I saw that there were people guarding this place. Putting aside this broken iron chain, I couldn't beat those people. They also had weapons."
Zheng Qianqian didn't believe it. She walked up to Yang Fei, knelt down, and cried, "Please take me out! My child's father is waiting for me to come home, and the baby still needs to have a prenatal checkup."
Looking at Zheng Qianqian's belly, Yang Fei realized that the pregnant woman was definitely the first among them to be cleared of suspicion.
But when Master Lin told her that she couldn't trust this woman and that she was from this village, she subconsciously believed him.
She didn't even believe what the people in the cellar said.
She said with distress, "Sister Zheng, I don't know why you think I have a solution, but... but I have no solution either. I can't get out of here. I was tricked into coming here by Xu Linlin and Zhou Ruomei. My family doesn't know I'm missing."
Tong Yuexuan looked at Zheng Qianqian speechlessly: "Sister Zheng is so anxious she's confused. How could she possibly have a solution?"
She was still thinking about the note she had received during her meal, and what it said.
She cleared her throat softly: "I received a note from my classmate. She said that a group of buyers would be coming to see the goods tonight. This cellar is too small, and there's a high chance we'll be taken up there. If we can leave at that time, she left some money for us at the well outside the village. With money, it will be easier for us to leave here."
Zheng Qianqian suddenly turned to look at Tong Yuexuan: "Really?"
She cursed inwardly, thinking, "Which forgetful little slut is this? If the police come to their village, no one will escape."
"Of course, my classmate cooked dinner tonight, otherwise how would I have found a note in my food?" She said smugly, completely unconcerned about what would happen to her classmate after she betrayed her.
Yang Fei stared at Tong Yuexuan in shock: "You just said that?"
"What's the problem?" Tong Yuexuan didn't like Yang Fei at all. She had suffered too much here, but Yang Fei, relying on her good looks, hadn't been beaten and could enjoy the best spot in the dungeon all to herself.
"If the villagers find out that your classmate helped you escape, do you think she can still live?" Yang Fei felt sorry for Tong Yuexuan's friend.
Tong Yuexuan scoffed: "Stop your pathetic saintly heart. We're all going to die, and she helped me voluntarily. I didn't beg her. Besides, if sacrificing her to save a whole bunch of us is worth it."
Yang Fei shook her head: "Your classmate really shouldn't have helped you. She offered you help, and you could have just kept it to yourself. Nobody in this village knows who did it, and your friend will live to see her return home."
The others, who were initially as happy as Tong Yuexuan, suddenly realized the problem. Apart from Zheng Qianqian, who was older, the rest of the girls were all around the same age.
Even though they had lived in the cellar for a while, they still had a sense of justice.
Tong Yuexuan glared at them angrily: "Do you want to leave? If you don't want to leave, you can go with those buyers tonight when I leave."
Yang Fei pursed her lips. She noticed that Zheng Qianqian glanced at the surveillance camera in the corner. The camera was cleverly positioned so that only she could see it clearly.
Yang Fei waited quietly. It was now dark, and the police had entered the village.
Xiang Yingxia watched the screen nervously; they could only see what was happening on Yang Fei's side.
"Crack, crack." The sound of sunflower seeds being cracked could be heard from the tense director's temporary office.
Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and saw Lin Zhilu holding a handful of sunflower seeds, which she then happily began to eat.
Zhu Yuanliang was shocked: "Teacher Lin, where did you get these melon seeds?"
Lin Zhilu pointed to the bag at her feet, which had the words "9 Lin Zhilu" written on it.
"Aren't these the snacks I brought? I'll have a couple of bites now, and I won't eat any more after this is over."
Zhu Yuanliang had no choice but to let Lin Zhilu eat it.
Seeing that the director didn't care anymore, Lin Zhiluo directly stuffed a bag of snacks into Qi Zhiyang's hand: "Eat up, don't be shy with me."
Qi Zhiyang slowly opened the package, and Lin Zhiluo smelled it: "You don't like sweets, so you can eat this bag. These potato chips are delicious."
