Chapter 20 is not worth mentioning.
Hua Hua is a complete country bumpkin who has never seen the world. He only met her on the train. How could he bear to leave her at a boarding school?
Moreover, the kindergarten teachers there don't even speak standard Mandarin. Hua Hua now speaks with a strong local accent, so it's a miracle if anyone can even understand what she's saying, let alone pass the interview!
"Sigh!" Zhang Pengfei glanced at Huahua, the little girl was carefree, kissing and laughing with the teddy bear, truly not thinking about anything.
The car sped along the road, and soon turned onto a side road. Zhang Pengfei realized the route was wrong: "Where are we going? Aren't we just going home?"
"Let's go eat breakfast first!" Chen Jingyang glanced at Zhang Pengfei with a hint of disdain: "Aren't you hungry? Even if you're not hungry, isn't our Huahua hungry?"
Hua Hua was particularly good at slapping his own brother in the face. His laughter stopped abruptly, and he said crisply, "Hungry!"
Zhang Pengfei looked at his sister, then at Chen Jingyang, and suddenly felt that something was not quite right.
For their first breakfast in the capital, Chen Jingyang brought Hua Hua to the Cloud Steps Moon Land!
Knowing he was insignificant and his words carried little weight, Zhang Pengfei wisely kept quiet, silently following behind Chen Jingyang and Huahua as they sang hand in hand, as if they were the real siblings and he was just a freeloader!
This was the first time in Hua Hua's life that she had seen so much delicious food, and she could take and eat as much as she wanted. She was like a little mouse that had fallen into a barn, screaming and running around, not knowing which one to eat.
"Hua Hua!" Zhang Pengfei was a little embarrassed. He nodded and smiled awkwardly at the other person, and quickly pulled his sister back: "Don't shout so loudly, it will disturb others."
Hua Hua said "Oh," and blinked her eyes, "Brother, can we really eat all of these without worry?"
Chen Jingyang walked over, smiling, and handed Hua Hua a plate. He put his arm around Hua Hua's shoulder and said, "Of course! Come on, I'll take you to eat something delicious. Some things look nice, but they actually taste pretty average..."
Zhang Pengfei couldn't help but smile, and he also took a plate and followed behind the two.
Buffets usually don't allow takeout, but Chen Jingyang was the one who wanted to take it all away!
Seeing that Hua Hua was so full she was about to throw up, but still couldn't bear to put down the small cakes on her plate, Chen Jingyang directly asked the waiter to pack two large boxes for her.
While Zhang Pengfei stared in disbelief, Chen Jingyang took a napkin and gently wiped the cream residue from the corner of Hua Hua's mouth. With a smile that could charm anyone, he softly coaxed her:
"If you can't finish it, then don't. I'll bring you here again tomorrow. If you like it, I'll bring you here every day from now on. We can even stay here. Don't be sad, okay?"
His silly little sister was really happy and readily agreed: "Okay! We'll come here to eat again tomorrow, and we'll live here and eat here from now on!"
Zhang Pengfei slapped his forehead with a "smack"—how was he going to live like this from now on!
However, Zhang Pengfei's slap came too early, because after breakfast, Chen Jingyang did not go home, but instead drove directly to the underground parking lot of a shopping mall.
Zhang Pengfei suddenly felt a little scared and asked Chen Jingyang in a trembling voice, "What... do you want to do?"
Chen Jingyang scoffed: "What else could you be doing? Are you even her brother? The rags she's wearing are so tattered, anyone would think you carried her all the way here from famine!"
Sure enough, Zhang Huahua's outfit was completely unacceptable to Chen Jingyang!
“Chen Jingyang!” Zhang Pengfei grabbed him, his brows furrowed. “Buying clothes is fine, but can we go somewhere else? The clothes here aren’t suitable for her.”
Chen Jingyang glanced at him: "Oh? Where would be a suitable place? At a street stall?"
Zhang Pengfei didn't want to argue with Chen Jingyang. He had long since discovered that Chen Jingyang was very stubborn. The two had grown up in very different environments, and their values only had something in common in their appearance. Apart from that, they really couldn't find any similarities whatsoever.
"It's either a street stall, or..."
"Shut up!" Chen Jingyang coldly interrupted him. Zhang Pengfei and Chen Jingyang stared at each other for a moment, and Zhang Pengfei let out a heavy breath helplessly. Even if he was unwilling, he dared not and did not want to have a conflict with Chen Jingyang in front of his sister.
Chen Jingyang curled his lips into a smile, gave a soft hum, and pulled Zhang Huahua to the children's clothing section.
"Wow...!" Zhang Huahua exclaimed in amazement as she stood in front of the rows of clothes racks!
Chen Jingyang sat down on the sofa with an air of nonchalance, crossed his legs, raised his chin, and instructed Hua Hua: "Go ahead, pick whatever you like, wear whichever one you like."
Hua Hua exclaimed "Wow!" as she looked around, then told Chen Jingyang, "All the clothes here are so pretty, I love them all!"
Zhang Pengfei: ...
Chen Jingyang raised an eyebrow and laughed, "Okay, then I won't choose anything!" He turned to the sales assistant and said, "One of each of these clothes, according to this little girl's size."
Zhang Pengfei jumped up, his face turning pale: "Zhang Huahua! You come here right now!"
Zhang Huahua came running over, but when she saw that Zhang Pengfei's expression was off, she immediately stopped laughing, stood up straight, and asked cautiously, "Brother, what's wrong?"
Zhang Pengfei took a deep breath and tried to speak in a gentle voice, but his eyes were fixed on Chen Jingyang: "Go tell Brother Jingyang that he only needs to buy two items."
Zhang Huahua obediently walked up to Chen Jingyang, looking at him with her big eyes, a little confused, not knowing why her brother wanted her to say that, but still said, "Brother Jingyang, just buy two items."
Chen Jingyang affectionately ruffled her hair: "Don't you like them both? How can two be enough?" Then he patted Hua Hua's back, staring at Zhang Pengfei with unwavering determination, exuding domineering aura: "Go, tell your brother that he has to buy at least 10!"
Zhang Huahua walked hesitantly to Zhang Pengfei, her little face full of distress: "Brother, Brother Jingyang said we have to buy at least 10 items."
At a mere three meters away, Chen Jingyang's voice was quite loud, and Zhang Pengfei had heard it long ago. However, the two were locked in a power struggle, neither willing to back down first, as if there was a vacuum between them, turning Zhang Huahua into a living messenger.
Zhang Pengfei: "Go ask Brother Jingyang if there's enough room."
Zhang Huahua ran back and, like a tape recorder, played it all over again.
Chen Jingyang: "Go tell your brother that if he buys it, there'll be a place to put it!"
Zhang Huahua ran over and repeated it to Zhang Pengfei again.
Zhang Pengfei: 3 items, no more than that!
Zhang Huahua ran over.
Chen Jingyang: At least 9 pieces!
Zhang Huahua ran back again.
The two customers and several sales assistants in the store were all amused by this odd couple and covered their mouths to laugh.
The two went back and forth, one saying to the other, until Zhang Huahua was sweating profusely before they finally reached an agreement: to buy 6 items.
However, when Zhang Pengfei arrived the next day, he realized that compared to what happened later, buying clothes was nothing!
