Chapter 34 Moderate Injury

Chapter 34 Moderate Injury

"Damn it, come on!"

Chen Jingyang stood up, glanced at Zhang Pengfei, and kicked him off the bed!

"Stop talking nonsense. I'll give you a chance today. If you can't kill me, you'd better tuck your tail between your legs and be a good dog!"

The bed wasn't high, only about 40 centimeters off the ground, but Chen Jingyang's kick was no joke. It sent Zhang Pengfei flying sideways, like a big cotton doll, crashing into the wall with a "thud" and then falling to the ground with another "thud."

Although the two sounds were very close together, they were exceptionally clear; you could hear the path he took after flying off the bed even with your eyes closed.

"Ugh...!" A muffled cry of pain, almost inhuman, was squeezed out from deep within Zhang Pengfei's throat.

Chen Jingyang gave him a chance, but unfortunately, he couldn't use it—Chen Jingyang's kick landed squarely and solidly at the junction of the stomach and duodenum!

It felt as if his abdomen had been slammed by a red-hot iron hammer, or as if a bomb had exploded inside his stomach. All the air was instantly forced out of his lungs, and the intense feeling of suffocation made his vision go black!

pain!

The pain was so intense I couldn't breathe!

Each slight inhale felt like sucking countless knives into his stomach, those knives circulating with his blood, trying to cut him to pieces!

"Zhang Pengfei?!" Chen Jingyang's heart sank, and he had a bad feeling. He quickly got out of bed to help him.

"Ugh...!" As soon as Chen Jingyang's hand touched Zhang Pengfei, Zhang Pengfei couldn't help but gag, and his body trembled violently due to spasms.

"Zhang Pengfei!" Chen Jingyang was terrified, his voice trembling, and for a moment he didn't know how to touch him.

Zhang Pengfei's bangs were instantly soaked with cold sweat, his lips were completely bloodless, and even faintly showed a bluish-purple hue due to lack of oxygen.

He struggled to turn to the side, whether it was because he didn't want Chen Jingyang to touch him, or because he was in pain and instinctively writhed, or because his body felt even more uncomfortable after being touched by Chen Jingyang.

He began to vomit more violently, first a small amount of cloudy gastric juice and undigested food residue, and then, surprisingly, several streaks of bright red blood were mixed in with the vomit!

"Zhang Pengfei!" Chen Jingyang felt as if a steel awl had pierced his heart. Without further delay, he quickly picked him up and rushed out!

Zhang Pengfei curled up in his arms, trembling slightly in pain. The tall boy, who was over 1.7 meters tall, was not much older than a seven or eight-year-old child.

"I'm sorry!" Chen Jingyang was filled with remorse. He gently kissed Zhang Pengfei's forehead in the elevator. His hot tears mingled with the cold sweat on Zhang Pengfei's head, making it impossible to distinguish which were his tears and which were Zhang Pengfei's sweat.

Chen Jingyang hadn't cried since he went abroad, but after 14 years, the tears he had held back poured out like rain, like a gushing spring, for his so-called "dog".

The Aston Martin sped along the road with its hazard lights flashing, while Zhang Pengfei's consciousness swirled in waves of excruciating pain.

The initial impact pain did not lessen; instead, after the numbness subsided, it transformed into a deeper, more persistent pain that penetrated to the bone marrow.

It was no longer a sharp, explosive sensation, but a deep, throbbing, burning pain, firmly anchored in the center of the upper abdomen and stubbornly radiating towards the lower back.

Cold sweat poured out incessantly, gradually spreading a small, dark stain on the leather seat. Nausea followed me everywhere, and each time I gagged, my abdominal muscles spasmed, but all I vomited was bloody acidic water.

Zhang Pengfei was fully conscious, but he preferred to remain unconscious!

Every extremely light breath, every unconscious muscle twitch, and even every heartbeat felt like tearing at the wound inside his abdomen, bringing wave after wave of new pain that almost made him want to die immediately.

He could only maintain that shrimp-like curled-up position, his knees pressed tightly against his stomach, as if this could slightly resist the excruciating pain that was about to tear him apart.

Chen Jingyang's eyes were bloodshot. Every time Zhang Pengfei vomited or groaned, it felt like a knife was being slashed across his heart, so painful that he could barely hold onto the steering wheel!

"Doctor!" Chen Jingyang shouted in the emergency room while holding Zhang Pengfei, and several nurses and doctors on duty immediately rushed over.

"What happened?"

"I...I kicked him, I might be hurt somewhere!"

The doctor glanced at the blood at the corner of Zhang Pengfei's mouth, lifted his shirt, and saw a bluish-purple bruise on his upper abdomen!

When were you injured?

The doctor tried to gently touch the bruise, and Zhang Pengfei immediately convulsed, his body instinctively shrinking back, subconsciously avoiding even the slightest touch, followed by a hoarse groan: "Don't...don't touch!"

"Severe tenderness in the upper abdomen, board-like abdomen, bloody vomit, suspected severe closed abdominal injury, highly suspected gastric or duodenal contusion or even perforation, pancreatic injury or solid organ injury cannot be ruled out."

The doctor rapidly issued instructions to the nurse: "Establish two large-bore intravenous access lines! Quickly infuse 500ml of lactated Ringer's solution!"

"Urgently need to check complete blood count, blood type, coagulation, amylase, lipase, and a full biochemistry panel! Prepare for catheterization and urinalysis! Contact the radiology department to prepare a plain and enhanced CT scan of the entire abdomen, quickly! Notify the surgical department for consultation!"

Zhang Pengfei was wheeled into the emergency room, while Chen Jingyang stood there, stunned.

Gastrointestinal contusion, perforation? Pancreatic injury, organ damage?!

Chen Jingyang wished he could slap himself!

What exactly did he just do?!

He almost killed Zhang Pengfei!

This was the most difficult half hour Chen Jingyang had ever endured, but thankfully, the outcome wasn't as bad as he had imagined.

The doctor told him methodically, "The diagnosis is clear: it is a closed abdominal injury, with moderate contusion of the gastric antrum accompanied by local hematoma and a small amount of exudate."

"Mild contusion of the duodenal bulb. No perforation, no active bleeding, and vital organs such as the pancreas are temporarily safe."

"Currently, the injury appears to be moderate. Conservative treatment is recommended as the first choice, but hospitalization for close observation is necessary because the hematoma may expand, and the damaged stomach wall may suddenly perforate due to necrosis a few days later, or a pseudoaneurysm may suddenly rupture and cause massive bleeding, which is a very high risk! Level 1 care is required, and absolute bed rest is necessary!"

Chen Jingyang breathed a slight sigh of relief, but the doctor added, "Also, the patient needs to abstain from food and water now. Family members must remember not to give the patient anything to eat or drink without authorization!"

"Okay, I've got it." After leaving the doctor's office, Chen Jingyang went straight to Zhang Pengfei, who was lying on the hospital bed.

He had a feeding tube inserted and had stopped vomiting. After being injected with painkillers, the pain seemed to have lessened, and his body relaxed a little. However, his brows were still slightly furrowed, his eyes were tightly closed, and his face was still pale.

"Baby," Chen Jingyang called softly.

Zhang Pengfei's eyelashes trembled violently as if startled, and after a long while, he managed to force out a single word from his throat: "Get out!"
