Chapter 7 Is it any of your business?
Zhang Pengfei glared at Chen Jingyang, his beautiful eyes blazing with anger. If he didn't know he couldn't beat him, he would have rushed up and beaten him until he cried for his parents!
After silently venting his anger, Zhang Pengfei began to argue his case, trying to bring Chen Jingyang to his senses. He patiently said, "I can't be supported by you forever. I will definitely have to work after I graduate next year. Once I pay you back, you can go your way and I will go mine. We will be even."
Chen Jingyang narrowed his eyes, shooting out a terrifyingly cold light. His originally relaxed eyebrows suddenly became sharp, changing his usual clean and gentle appearance. His handsome facial features showed an extremely rare tension with sharp angles.
He reached out and grabbed Zhang Pengfei's face, sneering, "So that's what you were planning! Fine, then let me make it clear to you today: as long as I don't agree, you'll have to keep playing along with me!"
“You will not have a job in the future, nor will you earn a single penny in society. All your property and income will come only from my rewards and favors.”
"You're talking nonsense!" Zhang Pengfei roared in anger, slapping Chen Jingyang's hand away. He felt that Chen Jingyang was simply unreasonable: "If you want to play games with me forever, do you think I can play games with you forever?!"
His father is gone, so he will be the pillar of the family from now on. He can't rely on Chen Jingyang to support him!
Moreover, he had worked hard for more than ten years to acquire his skills, so how could he really be like a dog, wagging its tail and begging for food behind Chen Jingyang!
Students from Kyoto University's law school are almost always in high demand after graduation, let alone someone with his outstanding academic record!
There were some things Zhang Pengfei didn't say. In fact, as early as the beginning of this year, several senior students had already extended olive branches to him, asking if he wanted to intern at their companies.
Although he might not be able to earn as much pocket money as Chen Jingyang in a year even if he tried his best, it wouldn't be a big problem for him to pay off the debt of over 1 million yuan and live a relatively stable and affluent life.
Chen Jingyang didn't hold Zhang Pengfei's outrageous behavior against him. He reverted to his usual gentle and refined demeanor, sat on the sofa, lit a cigarette, and said calmly and willfully, "Why not? If I want to, there's nothing I can't do."
Zhang Pengfei gritted his teeth so hard they made a grinding sound.
Damn it, Chen Jingyang must have gone mad!
He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. Getting angry in front of Chen Jingyang would do no good. He had to treat Chen Jingyang like a judge and persuade him with facts and evidence!
Zhang Pengfei, who was playing the role of "Chen Jingyang," squatted down in front of Chen Jingyang and looked at him sincerely: "A young man who is not reckless is not a young man at all, so I understand that you want to do something different when you are young, and I am willing to risk my life to go crazy with you for a while. But we are all adults, and sooner or later we will get married and have children, right?"
Chen Jingyang looked down at Zhang Pengfei's innocent yet utterly foolish face and uttered three words: "What a load of crap!"
Undeterred, Zhang Pengfei continued with his tactics. As the champion of the National Political and Legal Colleges Debate Competition, he possessed exceptional critical thinking skills: "Don't you consider your parents? Would they agree to you graduating and remaining unmarried, continuing to act recklessly? What will other people in society think of you?"
Chen Jingyang exhaled a puff of smoke and chuckled, "If I want them to, they'll agree. As for what others think, I don't care. They're not my dogs, why should I bother with their business!"
Zhang Pengfei's eyes turned cold. He stood up. Chen Jingyang was completely unyielding, so there was nothing more to say: "I'm sorry, I can't play with you forever. My girlfriend is still waiting for me. We're going to get married and live a normal life."
Chen Jingyang leaned back lazily on the sofa, a cigarette dangling between his fingers, seemingly quite interested: "Oh? You two seem to be getting along very well. You've met each other's parents?"
Could there be a chance? Zhang Pengfei felt he saw a glimmer of hope: "Yes, we have a very good relationship. Although we haven't officially met each other's parents yet, both sets of parents agree."
Chen Jingyang nodded, turned his gaze back, and slowly took a drag of his cigarette, seemingly deep in thought.
Zhang Pengfei was a little excited, staring intently at Chen Jingyang, waiting for him to give up and compromise!
"We've broken up." Chen Jingyang looked up, meeting Zhang Pengfei's hopeful gaze, a smirk on his face, his voice extremely flat, as if he were talking about something trivial, like seeing a trash bag in Zhang's hand and telling him to "throw it away."
"I'm giving you three days to cut ties completely! Otherwise, I'll post last night's video online, and then you can expect to be expelled!"
"Chen Jingyang!" Zhang Pengfei was furious. The way Chen Jingyang had looked at him just now was clearly like he was looking at a self-important monkey. He almost gritted his teeth to pieces. "Don't push me too far!"
Chen Jingyang crossed his legs and looked at him indifferently: "I'm forcing you, so what?"
Yeah, what can he do?!
He must have owed Chen Jingyang a lot in this life, his past life, and even his life before that!
Zhang Pengfei grabbed a handful of hair, squatted on the ground in anguish, and after a long while murmured, "Why did you do this to me?"
Chen Jingyang put out his cigarette, stood up and stretched. He glanced at the fiery sunset outside the window and laughed, "Maybe you're lucky to have caught my eye."
After a long afternoon of running around, Chen Jingyang was hungry, so he called the restaurant to order food.
The meal was plentiful, even exquisite, comparable to the one served last night, but Zhang Pengfei was still angry. He sat on the bay window looking at the scenery, not wanting to eat at the same table as Chen Jingyang.
Chen Jingyang smiled indulgently, gently tapping the glass of red wine with his spoon, a series of crisp, pleasant clinking sounds echoing in the air: "Come and eat!"
Zhang Pengfei glanced sideways and snorted coldly, inexplicably recalling how his mother used to tap the basin with a wooden stick to call the pigs over to eat when she was feeding them at home.
Damn it, they really treat him like a dog!
Chen Jingyang had no idea that tapping his wine glass would trigger such a vivid association in Zhang Pengfei, but he found Zhang Pengfei's sulking demeanor increasingly endearing, and jokingly threatened:
"I'll leave when I'm done with today's dose of dog food. I'm in a good mood right now and don't want to bother you, so think it over carefully."
Upon hearing that Chen Jingyang was going to let him go, Zhang Pengfei immediately gave in, but not wanting to appear too cowardly, he stomped on the carpet loudly, sat down, and glanced at Chen Jingyang: "Are you eating dog food too?"
Chen Jingyang had never really thought about this question before, mainly because no one had ever dared to ask it before. He paused for half a second, and for a moment he was quite conflicted about whether or not to start eating. But he was really hungry, and this whole table was full of his favorite foods. He even had plans to go boxing after he finished eating!
So he glared at Zhang Pengfei, cut off a piece of steak, put it in his mouth, and mumbled, "I'm doing it, what's it to you!"
