Chapter 115 Decisive Escape

Chapter 115 Decisive Escape

"Too expensive!"

Zhang Pengfei has worked before and knows how hard it is to earn money.

Even at a company like Tanzhi that offers good benefits, the percentage of people earning more than 50,000 yuan a month is not high.

According to his understanding, for undergraduate students from Peking University, earning more than 30,000 yuan a month in their first job after graduation is already considered quite good.

Even after Guo Chengdong was promoted ahead of schedule, with the commission from cases, he could barely earn 30,000 yuan a month.

Students from other ordinary universities earn even less; they'd be lucky to earn 10,000 yuan a month.

But here at the health and wellness center, they charge 50,000 yuan right off the bat!

600,000 a year? That's simply unaffordable!

"How about we rent another place to live?"

Chen Jingyang was a little hesitant: "The hospital suggested that you try to live in a familiar environment during your recovery period. If you change houses, it may take a long time to adapt, which I don't think is a good idea."

He paused for a moment, then said, "Besides, a month is too short a time; we might not be able to find a suitable house."

Zhang Pengfei pursed his lips, insisting, "I hope my mother and I can live together."

Chen Jingyang thought for a moment and said, "How about this? Let's prepare for both possibilities. Let's go to the health and wellness community first. If we can't find a suitable house, let Auntie stay in the community for now, and then she can move out when we find a suitable house."

The two are friends now, and Chen Jingyang doesn't dare to make decisions for Zhang Pengfei on his own, for fear that the stubborn man will move out and find another place to live!

Zhang Pengfei nodded in agreement, then asked him, "When will Huahua be back?"

"It will be at least two or three in the afternoon. There are many different ways for kids to celebrate their birthdays these days. Don't worry, Sister Li will take good care of her."

No sooner had he finished speaking than Zhang Pengfei unexpectedly said, "I'm hungry, I want to eat noodles."

It's past eleven o'clock; I must be hungry.

Chen Jingyang quickly asked him, "What kind of noodles do you want to eat? I'll order for you."

"You make the egg noodles."

"Huh?" Chen Jingyang frowned involuntarily. "Me, me? But I... I don't know how!"

Although Chen Jingyang was sent abroad at a young age, he never had to fend for himself. He lived a very comfortable life, and he didn't have to worry about food, clothing, or shelter. He could eat, but cooking... was a bit too difficult.

After all, this person had only learned how to use a washing machine a month ago.

Zhang Pengfei didn't care whether he could do it or not. He stared at him with his big eyes, which was surprisingly intimidating: "You do it."

Chen Jingyang scratched his head: "Then I... I'll go see what's in the refrigerator first."

The refrigerator has almost everything!

These are all newly bought by Sister Li!

Chen Jingyang smacked his lips and subconsciously took out his phone to search: how to make egg noodles.

After searching, I came back and asked, "Pengfei, how about clear broth egg noodles?"

This method is the simplest; you just need to fry an egg and cook the noodles and vegetables.

Zhang Pengfei nodded: "Okay."

Chen Jingyang went to the kitchen. He had just finished watching the tutorial video and thought it was very simple, and he could probably finish it in about ten minutes. Full of confidence, he took the eggs and spinach out of the refrigerator, rolled up his sleeves, and got to work.

Zhang Pengfei came out of the bedroom and stood at the kitchen doorway watching him busy at work.

With his phone on, Chen Jingyang followed the steps in the video, first processing the spinach, then cutting it in half with one stroke!

He threw away the bottom half, put the top half in a basin of water, and rinsed it with running water. The spinach leaves were quickly washed out, and he frantically grabbed them, keeping only the large ones and leaving the rest in the sink as trash.

The second step is to fry the eggs. Frying eggs involves two steps. First, crack the eggs into a bowl and stir them well.

Chen Jingyang had never cracked an egg before, and the first time he didn't control his strength well, he smashed the egg on the stove with a "smack," breaking it directly. The egg white and yolk were all over his hand and spilled all over the floor!

Chen Jingyang washed his hands, picked up another egg, and this time, with more experience, he tapped it very lightly. It took him four or five tries to crack the egg. He then imitated the person in the video, holding the egg in one hand, suspending it above the bowl, and gently squeezing it.

"Bang!" The whole egg suddenly exploded in his hand, splashing not only all over him but also his face!

Zhang Pengfei could hardly bear to look at him.

Cracking an egg with one hand is an advanced skill that only cooking experts can master; even he can't do it!

But Chen Jingyang had no idea about any of this. He slowed down the video playback speed and watched it twice more to see how the person cracked the eggs and put them into the bowl. He felt like he had mastered the method.

He took out two more eggs, cracked them with one hand, held the cracked eggs above the bowl, slowly inhaled, and gradually increased the pressure with his hand.

"Bang!" It shattered again!

"Huh?!" Chen Jingyang exclaimed in surprise, picked up the remaining egg, examined it, and muttered, "What's going on? Is there something wrong with the egg I bought?"

Chen Jingyang is a man with absolute self-confidence. He can doubt eggs, stoves, and even the bowl, but he will never doubt his own hands!

In less than a minute, three eggs were destroyed, and it looked like the fourth egg was about to suffer the same fate. Zhang Pengfei couldn't stand it anymore and said, "Try to break the egg open with both hands."

"Oh, right!" Chen Jingyang suddenly realized that all he needed to do was crack the eggs into the bowl; why bother with whether he used one or two hands!

He smiled excitedly at Zhang Pengfei: "Baby, how are you so smart!"

Zhang Pengfei looked up at the ceiling and sighed.

Using two hands is much easier. Although a lot of food still got on my hands, at least I could see eggs in the bowl.

Whisking eggs is even simpler; just turn the whisk a few times and you're done.

Next, heat the pan and add oil.

Chen Jingyang stared at the gas stove for a moment, then turned the button to the right as instructed.

No fire!

"Huh? Is it broken? That can't be right! Sister Li used it to cook this morning!"

Zhang Pengfei rolled his eyes speechlessly: "Turn on the gas!"

"Oh!" Chen Jingyang stared at the gas switch, looking at it from left to right, and finally turned to Zhang Pengfei to ask, "How do I turn this on?"

Twist to the right.

I turned on the gas, but there's still no fire!

Zhang Pengfei was utterly speechless: "Press it down, then twist it again."

They finally got the fire going, but Chen Jingyang had no idea how to heat a pan properly. He only poured in the oil after the pan was smoking. He was very careful to follow the doctor's advice: light and low in oil. As a result, the little bit of oil boiled as soon as it hit the pan!

He poured in the egg mixture, and with a sizzle, a puff of smoke rose up, followed by a burnt smell coming from the pan!

Before Chen Jingyang could even pick up the spatula, the pot caught fire!

"Oh my god!" Chen Jingyang, as expected of a computer genius, knew to immediately grab the pot lid and cover it to cut off the air.

But the fire was still burning, and the eggs in the pot quickly turned into fuel that was even more "skilled" than wolf dung, and the kitchen was filled with thick smoke in seconds.

Chen Jingyang was so choked that he couldn't straighten up. In a moment of crisis, he closed the kitchen door and decisively escaped!
