Chapter 1 The Sun and First Encounters
"Look! Useless Tsuna is still using a training wheel!"
"He's probably the only fourth-grade student in Namimori who can't ride a bicycle."
"After all, he's just a good-for-nothing like Tsuna, hahaha—"
His classmates laughed and whizzed past him. Sawada Tsunayoshi pursed his lips, watching their retreating figures with a touch of annoyance. He wanted to ride as fast as he could to catch up with them, though...
But since they didn't want to take me along anyway, it was probably best to just give up.
"Thump—thump—thump—…"
His gaze followed the ball's bounce, rising and falling. As the dazzling orange light fell into the sky, it was somewhat blinding in the sunlight. Tsuna shifted his gaze to the classmate who was setting the ball. The same orange hair bounced up and down, still scorching hot.
"They've gone too far!"
The sound of the ball being passed stopped, followed by the indignant complaint from his classmates, who described reasons that could deter anyone from wanting to be friends with him.
The student who was setting the ball was a new transfer student from Namimori Prefecture. His name was Hinata Shoyo. As for why he was standing here watching his new classmates play volleyball, it was all because of his inexplicable tendency to fall flat on his face.
Sawada Tsunayoshi doesn't have many friends. He likes to find a secluded corner to eat lunch, dawdle until halfway through lunch break, and then go there. By then, everyone else has finished lunch and gone elsewhere, so that he won't attract attention and won't be bullied by others.
But today, an "uninvited guest" arrived at his safe haven. Sawada Tsunayoshi recognized him as a new classmate and instinctively turned and left. The new classmate was very energetic and got along very well with the other students. He was a little envious, but in the end, he still wanted to find a new place to have lunch.
That's how it should have been; there were no entanglements or disputes with others.
—If he hadn't rolled on the ground in a difficult position, tripping over his own feet.
That means why is there a bump on the ground?
"Ouch—" Tsuna rubbed his ankle, looking at his lunchbox in alarm. Thank goodness, his lunch was alright!
"Ahhh, are you alright?!" Hinata, who was on the other side, noticed the commotion and ran over to help the classmate who had fallen up.
Sawada Tsunayoshi stood up with a sigh of relief, then was startled to see Hyuga. He hurriedly straightened up.
"No, it's alright, thank you very much!"
Hinata Shoyo observed his classmate's expression with concern, and only smiled after confirming that everything was alright.
"It's good that you're alright. My name is Hinata Shoyo. My favorite food is raw egg rice, and my favorite sport is volleyball!"
Huh? Introduce yourself! Do I need to introduce myself too?
Sawada Tsunayoshi answered instinctively, "My name is Sawada Tsunayoshi, my favorite food is my mom's hamburger patties, and my favorite sport... um... I don't think I have one."
As they talked, Sawada Tsunayoshi calmed down, and he smiled shyly at Hyuga's smile.
"I know you. You're a new transfer student in our class."
Hinata seemed to be deep in thought. "Tuna, ah, Tsuna!"
His eyes were sparkling, and Sawada Tsunayoshi's lips twitched inexplicably. This new classmate was too, too familiar!
Although he says that no one wants to be friends with a loser, nine-year-old Tsuna is still happy if someone wants to play with him. He hasn't reached the point of being disheartened in middle school, nor has he been bullied to the point of being late or leaving early every day, where every second at school is painful.
So at this moment, he still held onto hope for the goodwill Hinata showed. Tsuna tilted his head, looking at the lunchbox Hinata had placed aside. Come to think of it, half of the lunch break was already over? Tsuna himself had no interest in the cold faces and mockery from others during class, but Hinata seemed like a good kid and would definitely be rushing back to class.
So he held up his lunchbox and said, "Hinata-kun, let's eat lunch first, we have class soon."
Hinata panicked immediately. He glanced at the clock above the school building, then quickly put down the volleyball he was holding.
"How could it be so late already!"
He pulled Tsuna to sit on the stone stool, picked up the lunchbox placed to the side, and clasped his hands together.
"Let's dig in!"
Sawada Tsunayoshi looked down at his lunchbox, a sense of indescribable satisfaction welling up inside him. Although he knew that Hinata-kun would likely leave him after returning to the class, the happiness of being together at this moment was an experience he rarely had.
So he picked up his lunchbox and whispered, "Let's eat too."
By the way, did Hinata-kun wash his hands after playing volleyball?
You ate without washing your hands!?
After lunch, Sawada Tsunayoshi naturally distanced himself from Hinata after returning to the classroom. In elementary school, where girls tend to develop better, the two were quite short. Although they both sat in the first few rows, they were separated by an entire classroom.
Hinata was very pleased with his new friend. He skipped back to his seat, his mind already replaying the scene of his senior, Yunai, making that incredibly cool spike.
He glanced subconsciously at Sawada Tsunayoshi sitting on the other side. Tsuna was scribbling on a piece of paper with his head down and didn't notice him. Huh? Tsuna is such a studious kid after all.
Just now, I was in a hurry to get back to class.
When get out of class ended, Hinata planned to go find his new friends, but they were still busy. He sat alone in a corner, as if an invisible barrier separated Sawada Tsunayoshi from the others, creating his own world.
Just then, the student in front of him turned around and asked him what time elementary school in Miyagi ended in the afternoon. He answered without bothering Tsuna.
As soon as the school bell rang, Hinata jumped up from his chair, grabbed his schoolbag which he had packed half an hour before school ended, and rushed to Tsuna's desk.
"Hey Tsuna, let's go home together!"
Sawada Tsunayoshi was slowly packing his schoolbag when Hinata suddenly appeared in front of him, startling him. Before he could answer, the other classmates kindly reminded Hinata...
"Hey Hinata, based on my experience, don't hang out with Sawada, you'll become stupid."
The others burst into laughter, while Hinata, puzzled, asked in return,
"Why did he become stupid? Does Tsuna have superpowers?!" Hinata looked at Sawada Tsunayoshi with even more excitement.
Tsuna shook his head in horror. No, this kind of thing is impossible!
The classmate who had spoken to Hinata earlier was also speechless at Hinata's thought process. Seeing Hinata's nonchalant attitude, the male classmate became furious and pointed at Sawada Tsunayoshi, who was sitting in his seat looking completely bewildered.
"Look at how pathetic he is!"
He laughed dismissively, "Studying poorly, sports trash, everything you do will be a mess."
His eyes were filled with malice as he looked at Sawada Tsunayoshi, as if he didn't think Sawada was worth his attention. He then turned to look at Hyuga.
"Hinata, you know what I mean, right? We're busy with our studies, and this guy is living such an easy life like a termite. He'll just rot away in some dark corner when he grows up."
Noticing Hinata's silence, the male classmate felt that what he had said was enough to make Hinata see the guy in front of him for who he really was. He gave Sawada Tsunayoshi a disdainful smile, his words like a final, decisive statement.
"Alright, Hinata, come with us. We don't want to be turned into another loser by this good-for-nothing Tsuna, right? Hahaha!"
"Hahahaha!" His classmates echoed once again.
"Yeah, Hinata, let's go. The air here is being polluted by Tsuna, it's unbearable."
Even though the malice wasn't directed at him, Hinata still felt suffocated by the oppressive atmosphere. The boy who had been smiling so brightly beside him at noon was now being mocked by everyone and couldn't lift his head.
He didn't do anything wrong, just because,
"Just because he's not good at studying and a bit bad at sports, you're going to treat him like a serious criminal?!"
It was almost a roar.
The sudden outburst stunned everyone present. Hinata gripped the strap of his backpack tightly. For a moment, the others feared that Hinata would take that terrifyingly bulging backpack, which they didn't know what it contained, and smash it hard on the head of one of them.
But Hinata didn't do that. He reached out his hand to Sawada Tsunayoshi, who had looked up at some point.
"Hey, Tsuna, let's play volleyball together!"
How did it suddenly turn to volleyball!
Tsuna suppressed the urge to make sarcastic remarks in such a passionate setting and solemnly placed his hand on Hinata's.
The response from Hyuga intensified his aura, like a dazzling sun, its light shining for the first time into this secluded corner belonging only to Sawada Tsunayoshi. And this light was right in front of him, piercing the darkness surrounding him.
"No one is born capable of everything, and you cannot decide his life based on what he is like now!"
"You who only bully the weak are nothing but rotten mud!"
Still just elementary school students, the boy in the lead glanced uncomfortably at Hinata Shoyo's backpack, then glared at the two of them with a lack of confidence.
"Hmph, you'll regret this sooner or later!"
Hyuga didn't care about them at all. He grabbed Sawada Tsunayoshi and strode out of the classroom, leaving everyone behind.
Even after leaving the school, Sawada Tsunayoshi hesitated for a while before quietly calling out to the orange-haired man with his hair standing on end.
"that,"
Hinata turned to look at him. "What's wrong, Tsuna?"
Tsuna said quietly, "I forgot to bring my homework."
Is it possible that he was just tidying up his homework at his seat?!
"Eh!" Hinata's expression gradually deepened.
"Pfft—Hahaha!" Tsuna couldn't help but laugh out loud. He waved his hand.
"It's okay, I won't write it anyway." He suddenly became inexplicably self-righteous.
Hinata looked at Tsunayoshi, and the next second, the orange-headed creature nuzzled up to his face, "Tsunayoshi has a very handsome smile, and his eyes are also..."
He paused for a moment, then said, "Beautiful." He ultimately chose the word "beautiful."
"Huh?"
"So, Tsuna will play volleyball with me!"
Why is it volleyball again!
Sawada Tsunayoshi finally realized that the guy in front of him was serious. He really wanted to get him to play volleyball together. But why?
"Because volleyball is a sport that involves looking upwards." He said it in a matter-of-fact tone.
Honey-colored and orange pupils collided at this moment.
"Tsuna has been keeping his head down the whole time, why don't you try showing your eyes?"
Sure enough, he wasn't mistaken; Hyuga Shoyo was the sun.
His throat was dry and hoarse, but Tsuna could still hear his own voice. He said,
"Okay, Xiao Xiang."
On another note, is it true that they're following a storyline of a shonen manga about a hot-blooded volleyball player leveling up?
"Huh, we're neighbors!" Hinata looked on with surprise as Tsuna walked towards the house next door. Tsuna was also a little surprised; he seemed to have seen a moving company come by when he left home this morning.
But because he was going to be late, he didn't notice at all.
However, looking at Orange Candy rushing into the house noisily, saying she wanted to go out and play volleyball, Tsuna thought, "Good things have been happening all day."
He went home, put down his schoolbag (which had no homework), told his mother, and ran out the door. Hinata naturally took his right hand, while he held a volleyball in his other hand.
"Let's go, I found a great place to play volleyball this morning on my way to school."
"?"
Looking at the empty space in front of him, Sawada Tsunayoshi was genuinely puzzled. Having lived in Namimori for nine years, he had never been to this corner before.
"Xiao Xiang really is the ultimate volleyball brain."
"I really love playing volleyball!"
Hinata enthusiastically took out a volleyball, and Sawada Tsunayoshi then realized the most serious matter.
"Xiao Xiang, actually, there's something Kato-kun said that I quite agree with."
"?" Hinata rummaged through a corner of his volleyball-filled brain and realized that Kato was the student who had just spoken ill of Tsuna to him.
"I'm really bad at sports!"
Hyuga, who had been on high alert, relaxed upon hearing this.
"What? I thought Tsuna really had a superpower that could make people stupid."
"That kind of thing just doesn't sound possible!"
"Oh, it's nothing, it's nothing," Hinata waved his hand.
He held up the orange soft-serve in his hand and smiled brightly at Sawada Tsunayoshi.
"Because I don't know how at all either!"
"He said it very confidently."
Tsuna finally couldn't help but shout out his complaint, and then he couldn't help but laugh.
"What? Saying such cool things, I thought Xiao Xiang was an invincible elementary school volleyball player, hahaha!"
"Hehe." Hinata stuck out her tongue.
He waved his arm, "It's okay, soon we'll become super invincible volleyball elementary school students!"
"But Sho," Tsunayoshi shattered Hyuga's invincible volleyball dream.
"How do you play volleyball? I've been spacing out in PE class the whole time."
“Hmm,” a statement from the Hyuga organization.
"It's basically like they start fighting with a 'smack' and then the blow goes 'thud'!" He nodded, looking at Tsuna with starry eyes.
Sawada Tsunayoshi suppressed the urge to retort and, under Hinata's expectant gaze, offered another explanation.
"Could you use a simpler way of saying it? My Chinese isn't very good."
Hinata scratched his head in distress, "Eh, but my Chinese isn't very good either."
"No, this adjective has absolutely nothing to do with whether your Chinese is good or bad!"
Hinata and Tsuna looked toward the sudden sound. The boy who jumped down from the tree looked about their age, thin but a little taller than them. He was a red-haired boy wearing glasses.
A note from the author:
----------------------
My beloved author has finally started writing about my two favorite characters! Please read the description carefully to avoid any pitfalls.
In the first chapter, our Xiao Zheng will definitely be making an appearance.
Speaking of which, our little Tsuna is really destined to be associated with the sun. Our older brother is sunny, and the type of Kyoko that our little Tsuna likes (if she has any attributes) is probably sunny as well.
Look, our Little Sun also has "Sun" in its name.
The encounter between Kosho and Tsuna is a miracle in hundreds of trillions of parallel worlds! This guy's attribute is also sunny...
And most importantly, the wingless angel, whose attribute is still Sun.
We received plenty of sunlight on the 27th (nods).
