Chapter 7 Competition: Elementary School Chicken Competition

Chapter 7 Competition: Elementary School Chicken Competition

Hinata hadn't gone far when he turned around and saw Akaashi and Sawada Tsunayoshi. Perhaps he was thirsty, he ran back to get a water bottle from Irie Shoichi.

Ignoring Xiaozheng's disgusted expression, he rubbed his face against Irie Shoichi's arm, sipping his drink through a straw and letting out a sigh of admiration.

"What's wrong?" Irie didn't push Hinata's flushed face away after all, and instead asked what was wrong with Hinata this time.

Hinata casually reached into the stadium with his free hand, a smug smile on his face.

"I just feel that playing volleyball is really wonderful."

His gaze fell on Tsuna, who was earnestly imitating Akaashi-senpai's movements.

"I feel so happy!"

How could there be something as fun as volleyball in this world? Hinata couldn't understand it, but she said that she was willingly captured by volleyball.

Shoichi Irie didn't find it too strange. Instead, he nodded and said, "I know you're a volleyball fanatic."

"So, Hyuga Shoyo, you're so lucky. Have you finished your water? I need to go over there and get some water for Tsuna. If you're done, give me your cup too."

Hearing this, Hinata rubbed against Tsuna again, then got up and skipped off to find him.

"What kind of puppy are you?" Irie Shoichi smoothed out the wrinkles caused by rubbing against people. "Do you think you can leave your scent on people?"

Irie Shoichi wasn't bored. After getting the water, he took out his phone to handle his own affairs. He often said that twenty-one days was a cycle. In the month that the three of them met, not only did Hyuga help Sawada Tsunayoshi get used to having volleyball in his life, but Irie also gradually accepted that he would accompany the two of them every day to watch them play volleyball.

Anyway, it's satisfying to witness Hyuga and Tsunayoshi actually improving according to their plans.

They are all the darlings of their respective coaches, and they all have experience in small competitions. When they get together, it's inevitable that they will want to compete.

In previous visits, Akaashi always waited for the coach's instructions and was a good setter who could play exactly where he was told. At such a young age, the attackers should be burning incense and praying that such a good setter wouldn't be sent to another team.

After practicing quietly on their own for a short while, everyone couldn't contain their desire to compete.

Sawada Tsunayoshi noticed that the atmosphere in the volleyball hall was becoming scorching, as if the air was filled with the smell of gunpowder.

Hinata was probably genuinely sincere, because three kids came over and asked him if he wanted to team up, saying they could bring Sawada Tsunayoshi along. While they were talking, they also glanced at Akaashi Kyoji, who seemed exceptionally reliable.

Coach, this guy looks really strong.

Sawada Tsunayoshi knew without even thinking how Hyuga would answer, so he simply turned to the other two to see if Akaashi-senpai would agree to play with them.

It's hard to imagine anyone being able to say no under the intense gaze of these two little puddings; this is even recorded in the annals of the author, Irie Shoichi.

So Aka-ashi was given away for nothing.

As expected, the three unfamiliar children submitted very quickly upon hearing that Akaashi was the setter, as if there were some kind of food chain, and they all said they would follow Akaashi's instructions.

Hinata expressed her strong desire to be a attacker, and Akaashi hummed in response, without saying whether it was possible or not, and looked at the others first.

Since they were the ones who sent the invitation, the three of them had already decided on their positions before they arrived. It's like in a game where you play house and I'll be the mom and you play the dad. The positions of libero and opposite hitter were chosen first, and the other one said that he was a bit weak and that he was more suitable to play as a middle blocker.

Sawada Tsunayoshi, who was initially indifferent, was thus thrust into the position of main attacker.

Sawada Tsunayoshi looked at the boy who said he had a weak foundation, his face full of doubt. Was that true?

That doesn't make sense either. If we're talking about a weak foundation, who can compare to him? He only recently really figured out what positioning is.

No, Tsuna felt like he was about to forget about the rotation system, and he subconsciously looked to Hinata for help.

Hinata was very considerate at this moment. He ran over and put his arm around Sawada Tsunayoshi's shoulder. Since the two were about the same height, he could do this very easily.

"Don't be nervous, Xiao Gang. This is just a game, not a formal competition."

Sawada Tsunayoshi was deeply moved. Well, he was a little nervous, but that wasn't what he was most worried about.

Is his bad technique the same as him not remembering the rules? The former is definitely better. Well, actually, they're about the same, and choosing either one seems like a recipe for disaster.

And yet he had chosen both of these disastrous options. As Sawada Tsunayoshi watched them fast-forward to the point of retrieving a wild vice-attacker, his vision went completely black.

Is it possible that the person who is very passionate about the attacker position is named Hinata Shoyo? Although he and Sho are very close, it seems that he hasn't been infected to the point of liking the attacker position like Sho.

So don't just throw him into the main attacking position so easily!

Even though he had mentally reviewed it several times, Sawada Tsunayoshi didn't actually say a word, because he didn't think he would do much better as a middle blocker.

Perhaps sensing Tsuna's nervousness, Kyoji Akaashi came over and patted him on the shoulder.

"It's not an official match, so there's no need to be too anxious."

Sawada Tsunayoshi nodded, his face tense, to indicate that he understood.

Several social media savvy individuals quickly apprehended the person, leaving no way out for the person who was worried sick.

Whether it was Sawada Tsunayoshi's imagination or not, he felt that everyone in this arena was relaxed and confident, eager to compete with others, even the girls, who all had a strong fighting spirit.

When he finally found a partner willing to play with, Tsuna felt like an ordinary villager being carried along on a march, completely out of place.

At this moment, an even more incongruous individual appeared.

Hinata, who was just comforting Sawada Tsunayoshi, now looked as wilted as a waterlogged cabbage. But since they were already in position, Tsunayoshi couldn't just cross half the field to comfort him.

That's a foul, and Sawada Tsunayoshi was glad that he still remembered that he couldn't run around.

The match officially began, but Hinata's condition did not improve. He was so exhausted that Sawada Tsunayoshi wanted to call an ambulance. It's true that they are good friends; the two of them are exactly the same when facing a match.

Perhaps because of their height advantage, the opposing team allowed Sawada Tsunayoshi's team to serve, and Akaashi Kyoji was positioned at position one this round, so he stepped onto the serving mat.

There were no referees or timers; everyone just played by sight and hit the ball as close to the target as possible, since their serves weren't very intense anyway.

Akaashi aimed at the relatively large gap between the opposing libero and outside hitter. He had just noticed that the opposing team was also a newly formed team, and they wouldn't know each other very well. He couldn't jump serve yet, so he just served steadily.

Just as he had predicted, the other side didn't touch the ball.

"Good shot!" Hinata seemed to have regained some of his spirits.

He took a new ball out of the hoop, and the two people opposite him said something in frustration. Akaashi guessed it was something like, "I'll catch the next ball."

Instead, he smiled slightly, a hint of amusement on his calm face, and the next second he served the ball to the unsuspecting attacker.

The opponent caught the ball, but it hit his arm and bounced high into the air, flying out of bounds.

Serve to find someone.

Sawada Tsunayoshi nervously bent his knees. His teammates were once again glad that they hadn't provoked this setter. They were already doing well just to get the ball into the opponent's court. Such precise targeting was simply too powerful.

They wholeheartedly cheered for Chiwei.

The ball wasn't hit very hard, and Kyoji Akaashi knew he wasn't very good at finding teammates, so he wasn't too disappointed when the next ball was caught. He quickly returned to his position and waited for the ball to fly back.

"The fighting here is back and forth."

Suzuki was dragged by Kujo to meet a whole bunch of people, but he was still worried about the child he brought along, so he couldn't help but run over to check on him. The others simply followed him over as well.

Some children were also watching the game. Kujou Hayate glanced at the field and saw that Akaashi was there, so he was bound to attract attention. Everyone knew that his child was the most talented setter in this batch.

When Suzuki arrived this morning, he said it would be a lie to say there was no comparison. Everyone brought their students, so everyone was naturally trying to teach them well, emphasizing that "my Miaomiao is better than yours," and that he was in a winning mood.

Coach Kujo clearly felt that with Akaashi Kyoji on his team, he could do whatever he wanted. He looked closely and noticed that the two kids Suzuki had brought were also in Akaashi's team. He smacked his lips, feeling a little regretful that he couldn't watch his own kids beat Suzuki.

"See? I told you Akaashi was pretty good, right?" Kujo nudged Suzuki with his elbow and started showing off. The others who came with him rolled their eyes, clearly having been misled by this guy before.

"That's really impressive."

The young boy on the field had delicate, thin shoulders, yet he still raised his hand firmly, his expression calm, directing everyone on the field. And the two he brought, especially Hyuga, seemed to be playing very comfortably.

There's a reason why the other team was willing to give up the serve: that team was mostly composed of fifth graders and above. Although they didn't know each other well, their height and skill level were much higher than theirs.

The only drawback is that the opposing team doesn't have a good setter.

"The fact that this game was so close and back-to-back was largely due to Akaashi's passing." Anyone with eyes could see that.

Kujo nodded, pleased with the praise. "That doesn't depend on whose student you are."

Hyuga took a few strides to the other side of the court, where Akaashi received a stable first pass from Tsunayoshi, easily passing it to Hyuga so he could avoid the block and spike it, scoring another point.

"Hey, their teamwork is kind of interesting," Kujo said, intrigued.

Suzuki remained silent. Anyone who taught his students knew how eccentric Hinata and Sawada were, to the point that Suzuki now had to think twice before praising them.

A note from the author:

----------------------

I was thinking that 27 is like a white dough ball right now, and then Little Sun was pinching and kneading 27 until it was shaped like a volleyball!

27 Junior High is too busy, so they probably won't have much time to practice volleyball. Therefore, they won't be playing setter. Right now, we're just hoping Shoyo and Tsuna can try out other positions together. [shy]
