Chapter 151 New Home

Chapter 151 New Home

In the evening, Yao Xiuhua and He Chengxuan went to Zhuang Tunan’s house. At first, Huang Ling was very worried, thinking that Zhuang Tunan had caused trouble at school. She would never have thought so before, because Zhuang Tunan had always been very well behaved. But who made him overturn the table at his grandfather’s house a few days ago?

After hearing what Yao Xiuhua said, Huang Ling was both happy and confused. How did my child suddenly become a genius? Recently, he seems to have no other changes except being more sensible? "Tunan, when did you start reading high school textbooks?"

“I started reading it after I finished my junior high school textbooks.”

"Cough cough." Yao Xiuhua was drinking water and almost choked to death when she heard this.

"Then when did you start reading junior high school textbooks? Why did you think of reading these?" Huang Ling had to continue asking.

"At first, I thought that since I was going to junior high school soon, it wouldn't hurt to prepare in advance. Every day after school, when you guys weren't home yet, I would take the textbooks from home and read them. After reading them, I didn't think they were too difficult, so I continued to read the high school textbooks."

Huang Ling often works night shifts. Zhuang Chaoying is a high school teacher. The family has more textbooks. The high school finishes later than the elementary school. Many times, only Zhuang Tunan and his sister are left at home. Zhuang Xiaoting is not sensible, so he is not afraid of being exposed for saying this.

He glanced at Huang Ling again and said, "I also want to learn more skills so that I can help you."

Huang Ling's nose was sore when she heard this, and she almost cried. She felt even more resentful towards Zhuang Chaoying. Tunan is only eleven years old and knows how to feel sorry for me. How can you, a grown man, be worse than a child? Yao Xiuhua looked at the two of them and felt that something was wrong, but she couldn't ask too much, so she could only change the subject. "Since Tunan has such talent, you as parents should cherish him and cultivate him well. Isn't Tunan's father a high school teacher? If you have time, let him give Tunan extra lessons?"

"He doesn't have time." Zhuang Tunan rolled his eyes. "In order to give extra lessons to those college entrance examination candidates, he kicked Xiaoting and me out of the house. We can only do our homework in the hallway, lying on the stool."

Tsk, I said the wrong thing. It seems that the problem in their family is caused by Teacher Zhuang. Yao Xiuhua was extremely embarrassed and didn't know what to say.

He Chengxuan saw the opportunity and said, "Tunan, if you don't understand anything during your self-study, come and ask me and I will help you answer it."

He had been away from college teaching for so many years, and finally met a promising student with the potential to pursue a career in academia, so how could he let him go? He was even thinking that after a while, if he was sure that he really had talent, he would risk his reputation and write a letter to the higher authorities, just like the teacher who recommended Ning Bi, to try to get him a special recruitment quota.

He Chengxuan had heard some rumors recently that his problem was about to be solved. Now that universities had resumed enrollment, all colleges were short of teachers. Perhaps after a while, he would be able to return to Jiangsu Normal University to teach. At that time, his letter would be more convincing.

"Don't be afraid of you laughing at me, but I can't solve many of the problems that Tuanan can solve. But Teacher He is different. He used to be a math teacher at Jiangsu Normal University. His math level is higher than all the other teachers in our school combined. With his help and tutoring, Tuanan will definitely not be delayed." Yao Xiuhua echoed from the side.

"Teacher He, thank you so much for your help." Huang Ling thanked him repeatedly.

The two teachers chatted for a while, and seeing that it was getting late, they went home. Huang Ling took the two children and sent them out of the yard before turning back home. As soon as she entered the house, she started rummaging around.

In the past, those college entrance examination candidates who came to ask Zhuang Chaoying for help with their lessons basically came with empty hands. She could not do such a shameless thing. She would prepare the things today and go to Teacher He's house tomorrow night to express her gratitude. She also had to go to Teacher Yao's house.

The next day after school, Huang Ling entrusted Zhuang Xiaoting to the care of a neighbor, and took Zhuang Tunan with her, carrying two cans of malted milk, to Teacher He's house. Teacher He refused to accept her no matter what, "No one has talked to me about solid geometry and trigonometric functions for many years. I am very happy to tutor Tunan in these things. You might as well give these things to Tunan and his sister. If you insist on keeping me, I will not teach Tunan anymore."

After some pushing and shoving, nothing was left behind, but everyone was very happy.

Huang Ling was happy because her son met a good teacher, and He Chengxuan was happy because he was respected. He would not accept the things, but the thought was indeed heartwarming.

Two days later, Yao Xiuhua found some time to call Zhuang Tunan to her office and found some past high school entrance examination papers for him to do. He got full marks in almost every subject. Now all the teachers ignored him and asked him to read the high school textbooks in class.

Sometimes when He Chengxuan had time after class, he would simply call Zhuang Tunan out of the classroom and give him one-on-one lessons in his office.

Time soon came to the weekend, and the factory notified them that they could move in on Sunday. Early in the morning, several young and strong men from the middle school attached to the cotton mill came and brought several tricycles.

Everyone worked together and moved all the things over in one trip. They also helped them rearrange the place, saving the family of three a lot of effort.

Nowadays, the relationship between colleagues in the workplace is much closer than in later generations. If a colleague moves, just a word of thanks will bring forward a lot of people to help. However, Zhuang Chaoying was unwilling to even open his mouth, and it was only after Zhuang Tunan forced him to do so.

I don’t know whether he was embarrassed or felt that it was no big deal to tire Huang Ling out.

After they finished packing, they were about to leave, but Huang Ling and Zhuang Tunan quickly stopped them. They said that since they had helped their family so much, they should at least give them a meal. "The noodles are already in the pot. Eat before you leave!"

After some discussion, they finally stayed and went back happily after dinner. On the way, they kept praising Huang Ling, saying, "Teacher Zhuang's wife is so meticulous. Teacher Zhuang is so lucky to marry her."

Zhuang Tunan was speechless for a while after listening to this. Everyone could see the good in Huang Ling, except Zhuang Chaoying.

After returning home, Zhuang Tunan carefully looked at the layout of the house. This was a small courtyard with a separate entrance and exit. It originally had the most common three-room layout - a hall in the middle and side rooms on both sides. The cotton mill built a wall in the middle of the original hall, dividing the hall into two small bedrooms. The three bedrooms became four symmetrical bedrooms, which were divided into two families.

There is a large open space at the entrance, a big tree against the wall on the left, and a washbasin against the wall on the right. Their family lives in the house next to the washbasin, and another family lives on the side closer to the big tree.

There are two rooms inside. The outer room is larger and serves as both the living room and the bedroom for Huang Ling and Zhuang Chaoying. The inner room is smaller and is used as a bedroom for Zhuang Tunan. There is also a small attic above, which is just right for Zhuang Xiaoting to live in.

Zhuang Tunan is very satisfied that he finally has some space of his own. It would be even better if Zhuang Chaoying didn't come back in the future.
