"The River of Rebirth is in chaos, with devastating floods and rampant fish demons. Now is not the time to seize the bridge and fight for profit. I urge you all to remain vigilant, for the demons on the other side are eyeing us covetously. Do not let yourselves become the pawns of others!"
"That's right! Today's battle to seize the bridge was a sure thing, but unfortunately a riot broke out. But no matter what, we can't let those beasts get away with it!"
"Agreed! Joining forces against external threats is the right thing to do. Besides, if the River of Rebirth continues to rage like this, it's questionable whether any of us on the bridge can even leave alive. Who has time to worry about what will happen next?"
"What bad luck! I don't know what happened to the River of Rebirth today. The ever-steadfast Sky Bridge has been swept away to this extent. If it weren't for the protection of this bridge, I would be dead here today..."
"..."
On the Mitian Bridge, the noise continued. At each end of the bridge, two distinct groups of people gathered. One group was dressed in plain robes. Although their attire was not very uniform, they were all dressed as cultivators. They were scattered in groups of three or five at one end of the bridge. Clearly, even though they were all cultivators, they were not united and were still wary of each other!
On the other side of the bridge, a large number of demonic beasts of various shapes and sizes were gathered, their angry, bell-like eyes glaring at the human cultivators opposite them. Leading them was a yellow tiger with wings on its back, its eyes wide and its forehead white, exuding a fierce and imposing aura. Especially its pair of fleshy wings, although they looked inconspicuous, could be seen from the fearful eyes of the surrounding demonic beasts that those wings were not as simple as they appeared!
"These scoundrels won't even spare our clan's last piece of pure land. This time, even if it costs the lives of the entire clan, we will stop these scoundrels here. The River of Rebirth, which is usually calm, has suddenly become so violent today. I have never seen such high waves before. Could it be that the heavens are blessing our clan?"
“Elder Tiger, the Sky Bridge is currently swaying precariously, and the River of Rebirth is in turmoil. The demon army we gathered earlier has long been scattered by these giant waves. Now we are fighting alone, and we may not be able to gain the upper hand... The key is that these bastards under the bridge bite anyone they see. They don't distinguish between friend and foe. Alas…”
Elder Tiger's face contorted with rage as he glared menacingly at the human cultivator opposite him. He opened his enormous jaws, revealing a mouthful of sharp fangs, and foul-smelling saliva dripped from his lips.
"Even so, we can't let those scumbags get away with this. After all, the River of Rebirth riot helped us. Compared to us, those scumbags on the other side should be suffering more. Let's conserve our strength and when the time is right, we'll tear them to shreds first!"
The Sky Bridge swayed and wobbled as it reached the crest of the wave once more. Two groups of people occupied one side, their eyes fixed on each other, but neither dared to take an extra step. The demon race had long lived on the banks of the River of Rebirth and were used to it, unlike human cultivators. If it weren't for their covetousness of the vast forest on the other side, no one would have the time to come to this desolate place!
Boom boom boom!
The River of Rebirth raged on and on, wave after wave crashing higher and higher. The people on the Sky Bridge had no choice but to rely on their own abilities to stay afloat. The two groups that had originally planned to fight to the death suddenly found themselves in dire straits. Although they were verbally fierce, their actions spoke volumes...
Just as the waves were raging and the two groups were locked in a stalemate, a red ribbon suddenly shot out from under the bridge. As if it had eyes, it quickly wrapped around the handrail of the floating bridge. Then, two people and an eagle emerged from under the bridge and landed squarely on the bridge surface!
"Haha! We're really lucky and have a great life! We're finally safe now. This bridge is really amazing. It can still maintain its shape even when it's being swept by such high waves. We've really seen something amazing today. Are you two alright?"
Li Sisui looked excitedly. Looking around, the floating bridge was suspended in mid-air, like a bridge in the sky. As far as the eye could see, there were layers of floating clouds and dark green forests below. Looking down from above, Shura Ridge presented a completely different scene.
"It's alright, but I'm afraid it's not safe yet, you see..."
Squeak! Squeak?
Li Sisui patted Diao Bao's big head and followed Leng Rushuang's gaze. Only then did he realize that something was wrong. There were two groups of people at each end of the pontoon bridge, looking dumbfounded and staring at the two people and one eagle that had suddenly appeared. Their expressions were as if they had seen something unbelievable!
"Two more thieving scoundrels. Look at that beast, it's a Black-Eyed Golden-Eating Eagle, in its juvenile stage!"
"How could anyone come out of the River of Rebirth alive? Are all those fish demons blind?!"
"Damn human cultivators, you cause our race to suffer the pain of separation from their loved ones time and time again. Today you've actually run into my face. You're asking for death!"
"..."
"Winged Tiger Clan, heed my command! Crush these two at all costs!"
At Elder Hu's command, before Li Sisui could react, several winged tigers roared and charged towards them, baring their teeth and claws!
Buzz! Whoosh!
The slow sword domain spread out silently, while the fast sword struck the chests of the winged tigers almost simultaneously, like shooting stars chasing the moon. However, the winged tigers did not suffer the expected lacerations and chest piercings. Instead, they seemed to have been hit by a dull punch, and apart from being a little out of breath, they were not seriously injured.
Even so, the Winged Tigers were taken aback and slowed down their attacks. After all, they hadn't even touched a hair on the other side before being punched without warning. Who could not see the strangeness of this?
"What... what kind of technique is this? How come there was no warning at all? Even the surrounding spiritual energy didn't fluctuate abnormally. Fortunately, its power is limited; it couldn't even break the fur of the little cubs..."
Tiger's eyes widened, the ferocity on his face vanished, replaced by a solemn expression. Even he couldn't see clearly how his men were intercepted. It was as if a transparent high wall had appeared out of thin air, abruptly appearing in front of everyone without warning. Unable to dodge in time, they could only crash into it solidly. How strange!
