The man in white frowned and said:
"Corpse filth? It disappears when exposed to light. How could such a sinister thing appear here?"
Slightly hesitant, he instinctively slowed his approach to Li Sisui, a hint of doubt appearing on his sharply defined face.
Clearly perplexed, this doubt didn't linger for long before being replaced by a roar of shock and rage:
"Step back!"
The six-tailed man, who had been kneeling, suddenly turned his head 180 degrees, his twisted and terrifying face facing the man in white. His once empty and lifeless single eye suddenly shone with a bright red light.
Then, like an octopus crawling out of a bottle, it shot out of its eye socket, flying at incredible speed almost instantly to the white-robed man, accompanied by excited and frenzied howls echoing through the void:
"A powerful bloodline!"
But the next second it turned into an angry roar, with a hint of fear mixed in with the anger:
"No!"
Just as the one-eyed creature was about to fly towards the white-clad man's face, it was stopped by a thin halo of light, as if it had hit "glass".
The impact was clearly quite forceful, and the halo cracked before it could last even a second.
Then it shattered with a crash, turning into scattered starlight. The one-eyed creature was also flung far away, tracing a near-perfect arc as it flew straight towards Li Sisui, who was sitting on the ground, bewildered.
After Li Sisui was freed from the six-tailed man's suction control, he was thrown around so hard that the world spun around him and stars flew into his eyes.
Before Li Sisui could react, he heard an angry roar, the voice was clear and authoritative, and there was a hint of surprise in his voice, like a cold wind blowing by.
Fortunately, Li Sisui could understand the roar; those two words were all too familiar to him.
Having traveled day and night with the Cloud Piercer, I don't know how many times I've heard it. Almost instinctively, I started to retreat with all my might after hearing it.
Although I felt dizzy and had a sore neck, and didn't know exactly how far I had retreated, it was all an instinctive action. The experiences of the past few months had made these subconscious actions almost like muscle memory.
A "crack" sound came from beside his ear, as if something had shattered. Li Sisui endured the intense pain and dizziness, and tried to open his eyes to see what was happening in front of him, but was hit head-on by a ball of fiery red and hot stuff.
In an instant, Li Sisui felt as if a basin of boiling hot oil had been poured on his face.
The intense pain caused Li Sisui to let out a non-human scream, clutching his head and curling up on the ground in agony.
He fainted after rolling for only a few seconds; his brain went into painful shock as a self-protective mechanism.
The man in white had already landed on the ground, holding a white pendant that had been broken into several pieces in his palm.
He was lost in thought, seemingly dejected, a stark contrast to his previous decisive and efficient demeanor.
After losing his one eye, the six-tailed man's robust body aged at a visible rate.
The other eye, which had been tightly closed, slowly opened amidst the thick fur.
Its golden pupils appeared noble and eerie. It looked around and opened its mouth as if to say something.
But it seemed as if something was blocking his throat, and he could only make sobbing sounds, like the mournful cries of an animal on its deathbed.
Immediately afterwards, countless plumes of black smoke billowed from his entire body, including his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, accompanied by a hissing sound of dissolving, instantly engulfing the six-tailed man.
Several faint, worm-like black lines, hidden within the billowing black smoke, rushed into the ground beneath the six-tailed man's feet and disappeared.
Before long, the ground where the Six-Tails had stood was covered by a layer of gray substance, and the Six-Tails had completely melted and disappeared.
The six-tailed man melted in the billowing black smoke, a bizarre scene that startled the stunned man in white.
Approaching cautiously, I saw the ground covered in a gray substance and exclaimed in realization:
"I see!"
The man in white seemed to have all his questions answered and regained his composure.
Only then did he realize that the perfect arc he had just shot had landed precisely where the Tu tribe member he had tried to save had been.
He moved swiftly and arrived in front of Li Sisui. He looked at Li Sisui lying on the ground, disheveled and seemingly dead, his eyes closed and his expression ferocious.
The left side of his face looked as if an ink bottle had been spilled; varying shades of black covered most of his left cheek like a birthmark, making him not only ugly but also somewhat frightening.
Coupled with Li Sisui's ferocious expression, even a strong man in white couldn't help but frown.
Although the world doesn't care about your appearance these days, being unsightly can still leave a bad first impression.
After confirming that Li Sisui was not in any danger but had fallen into a coma, the man in white got up and looked around.
He opened his palm and glanced again at the white pendant shattered into several pieces in his hand. A rare, bitter smile appeared on his handsome, flawless face as he thought to himself:
"The final blow shattered my protective shield, leaving me completely defenseless. They feigned weakness to conceal their strength before delivering a fatal blow. If it weren't for my protective pendant, I would probably be the one unconscious right now!"
The more I think about it, the more bizarre and suspicious this matter seems.
Although the man in white understood why the six-tailed man died, this forbidden spell was extremely rare in the world due to its strict requirements for casting, complex preparations, and lengthy casting time!
Although they had little interaction with the Tail Clan, the Tail Clan revered the physical body and bloodline. How could they use such a sinister technique to destroy their own bodies and sever their own bloodlines?
The Six-Tails is a symbol of peak strength, and even with the white-robed man's experience, it's hard to imagine who could apply this technique to a member of the Six-Tails clan, unless...?
impossible!
The man in white shook his head, interrupting his unrealistic thoughts, as if he were caught in an invisible vortex, involuntarily sinking into endless questions.
