The three, each lost in their own thoughts, arrived at Hive Plaza. Su Qingyu stopped and looked at Li Sisui, saying:
"That narrow path ahead is the only way out of the sect."
Following the direction Su Qingyu pointed, Li Si saw a dark and deep narrow path, covered by vegetation on all sides, which was hard to find without careful observation.
However, apart from this narrow path, there are only some trees blocking the way, so it seems unnecessary to leave through the narrow path; one could leave from anywhere else.
Su Qingyu seemed to sense Li Sisui's confusion and continued:
"This narrow passage leads to the clan's main gate. If you enter or exit from any other place, you will be killed on the spot by the two elders guarding the clan!"
After speaking, he looked up and nodded to the two corners of the square.
Li Sisui suddenly realized what was going on and followed Su Qingyu closely, afraid that they might have gone to the wrong place and broken some taboo.
Li Qiu watched the two of them talking back and forth without saying a word, seemingly lost in thought.
The three arrived at the entrance of the narrow passage and entered in order. Su Qingyu walked in front, Li Sisui followed closely behind, and Li Qiu walked at the back.
After Su Qingyu and Li Qiu entered the narrow passage, their expressions became solemn and serious.
The two touched the wall with both hands and walked slowly forward. Li Sisui looked at Su Qingyu's strange behavior in front of him, but had no choice but to follow suit.
He placed his hands on the wall and followed Su Qingyu forward. Inside the narrow passage, there was no other sound except for heavy breathing and regular footsteps.
The narrow path was dark and narrow, only wide enough for one person to walk through. Overhead, dense and lush vegetation blocked out the light, making it difficult to see any air or light.
Occasionally, a breeze rustles through the trees, allowing dappled sunlight to filter through the lush vegetation and illuminate the narrow path.
The walls were cool to the touch, smooth and delicate. With the occasional glimmer of light, Li Si could barely make out the unevenness and varying depths of the walls on both sides. The three of them remained silent throughout the journey.
The three walked for about ten minutes before emerging from the narrow passage.
The exit of the narrow passage was so low that the three of them had to duck to pass through.
After exiting the narrow path, the scenery suddenly opened up before us. Looking into the distance, countless mountain peaks stretched endlessly, one after another.
Most of the distant mountain peaks are shrouded in clouds and mist, exuding an ethereal aura that gives one the feeling of being in a sacred land of immortals.
Su Qingyu pointed to the narrow door behind her and said to Li Sisui:
"This gate is the clan's main gate. All members of our clan know that they must pass through this gate and this path to return to the clan. Outsiders do not know this and will be killed without exception if they cross it at will! This is your first time leaving the clan, so I am explaining it to you in detail."
Li Sisui then realized that this was a secret passage known only to members of the clan, like a code.
Those who entered the clan through the secret passage were naturally their own people; any intruders would be killed without mercy. Li Sisui said softly, with a touch of melancholy:
"This secret passage is really well hidden!"
Li Qiu, who had been silent for a long time, suddenly became interested and picked up where Li Sisui left off, saying:
"This secret passage is no ordinary place. Countless ancestors of the Tu tribe are buried on both sides of the passage, most of whom were meritorious figures at the beginning of the clan's establishment. Without them, we wouldn't be where we are today!"
After saying that, he didn't forget to glance at the dumbfounded Li Sisui.
"According to clan rules, anyone who passes through the narrow passage must touch the wall with both hands to commemorate their ancestors. The clan is built on the blood and bones of countless ancestors, and this is the only way for the clan's descendants to remember their ancestors."
Su Qingyu said softly, her tone tinged with sadness.
Seeing Li Sisui's shocked expression, he continued:
"This is not an exaggeration, it's all the truth. This narrow path was specially carved out by the sect in a place where thousands of people are buried. When the sect was first established, it was indeed by stepping on the corpses of these clansmen that we were able to climb to this place."
Li Sisui looked down at his hands, wondering if he had just rummaged through a pile of corpses.
Seeing Li Sisui's pale face and dazed eyes, Li Qiu burst out laughing. The laughter was unrestrained and indescribably joyful, as if she had vented all her previous dissatisfaction.
Su Qingyu also smiled and looked at Li Sisui, saying:
"This is how all tribespeople are when they first meet someone. You'll get used to it. Let's hurry down the mountain!"
Li Si followed behind the two with lingering fear, knowing that he couldn't switch places in a short time.
However, the scenery outside the sect is still very pleasing to the eye. Staying in the sect for too long makes it seem as if the whole world has forgotten us.
Only after they came out did they realize how vast the world and how expansive China was beyond their imagination. The Tu people were merely living in a small corner of the land, like a trembling infant in a corner, filled with unknown fear of the world.
The three of them slowly walked down the mountain along the narrow, winding path.
Due to the steep mountains, narrow roads, and lush vegetation, with dark rocks and dark green trees everywhere in sight, one would feel dizzy and have to stop to catch one's breath and rest after walking for a while.
Su Qingyu and Li Qiu were familiar with the route, obviously having gone down the mountain more than once. Li Qiu had some complaints about Li Sisui's various symptoms, but didn't dare to express them out of consideration for Su Qingyu.
After traveling in this manner for two hours, Li Sisui was exhausted and covered in sweat. Seeing this, Su Qingyu had no choice but to stop at a flat area and said:
"Rest here for a while. You'll need to be patient for the rest of the journey."
Li Sisui looked at Su Qingyu with some confusion. What did she need to endure? But she soon found out.
There was no way down there; all around were cliffs and precipices. The only way to descend was by using the trees growing on the cliff face. Only then did they realize the wonderful use of the light whip in Su Qingyu's hand.
